[DISC] Reign-Beaux, Overlord of Dark World

Recommended Posts

hmm..... his name is weird' date=' and his effect only works if your opponents card effect discards him.......... 6/10

That's why I said to use Dark Deal with him. When your opponent activates a Normal Spell Card, activate Dark Deal and pay 1000 life points. This rewrites the effect of that spell card to become "Your opponent discards 1 random card from his/her hand". If Reign-Beaux is the only card in your hand. You've brought out a wrecking ball move.

Do you know what this card has that Reign-Beaux doesn't have?

Playability.

You don't have to somehow make your opponent discard it for you, but IF you do, you'll get access to an effect that is in many situations even better than Reign-Beaux's, because the latter's effect would hardly hit more than 2 cards anyway while it only grants choice to Monsters OR Spell and Traps.

True. This and Sillva. I run a pretty nice Dark World deck anyway. So I should know. But on the off chance that the situation presents itself that Reign-Beaux can be useful, then make it useful. Reign-Beaux can be brought out in a tight situation when your opponent has a near-full field and you've got nothing. Gorz would also help in this matter. But still.....

Reign-Beaux sucks. It's not playable since your opponent has to use a card to discard it so that its effect activates.

DARK DEAL!!!!!!! Morphing Jar would also help. I've also noticed that Spirit Reaper would be helpful. Letting your opponent hit you with it and having you discard a card.

Reign-Beaux, Overlord of Dark World

(Level 7/DARK/2500/1800)

[Fiend / Effect]

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. When this card is discarded from your hand to the Graveyard by a card effect, Special Summon this card. When this card is discarded from your hand to the Graveyard by an effect your opponent controls, destroy all monsters OR all Spell and Trap Cards your opponent controls.

I gave it a big enough draw back to warrant running Sillva and Goldd, and a small enough one to warrant playing it at all. I would main 3 in a Dark World deck.

Bah screw all of you.

Nope.

You all obviously have no sense of Unique Strategy and instead only follow what other people have done.

Nope.

Every one of my strategies are unique.

Bad players have been rambling about Dark Deal + Reign-Beaux since Reign-Beaux was released. It's not "unique".

So....there. Reign-Beaux is a great card to me.

To you.

You're right. I apologize for stating that said card was bad. I now realize that being unique is worth sacrificing consistency and efficiency. I also realize that it's most certainly true that we copy other Decks and don't innovate ourselves. What's ever come from that? Among a few' date=' Little City, and who cares about that?

Whenever someone says to you "You'll never summon Reign-Beaux," just grin and show them Dark Deal and they should instantly be quiet because they'll know that you have ridiculous skill so that you can find a way to have them both at the same time. [/sARCASMZZZZ']

It's not Nomi.

Anyhow, Nomis are not in principle bad for the game. It just so happens that several of the cards that damage the game - for example, Dark Armed Dragon, Judgment Dragoon, Sky Scourge Norleras, Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End, Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, Chaos Sorcerer, and Demise, King of Armageddon - are either Nomis or Semi-Nomis (or Rituals, which are for all intents and purposes a subset of Semi-Nomis). If Nomis were actually bad for the game, then logically they should all be banned, and the moment I move Larvae Moth to the Forbidden section of the list is the moment I nail both my ears to the wall.

Of course I haven't clarified mine self at all pertainin' Nomis.

For a clearer perspective: nomis (and seminomis, and Rituals, and Spirits) could've been designed so as their effects would be activated only when Summoned in a prescribed way (a la Monarchs) such that the card pool is not unduly restricted.
