Here is a new poem i wrote a little while ago:

Dreams

A place where anything can happen

A place where you say what you want and tell people how you feel

A place where you will always be in control of what happens

Without dreams where would reality be?

Reality is like dreams

The difference is one is mentally and one is physically

The difference isn't big is it?

Dreams are reality

So dreams are life

You want to have a good life, then dream big

The bigger the dream the bigger the happiness you have

Dreaming is the mother to happiness

Reality,Dreams,and Happiness

These three things are what make up life

I have my competitive poem right here. It's actually a very unique one, where the first letter of each line spells out the title.

Pandamonium Prison

Pleasure lacked behind closed doors

Angrily locked to stray the curious,

Nauseous, and sickened embodiment

Dominating the disturbed contained,

Angrily locked behind the delirious.

Masked by rock and steel above.

Originally posted as a prison for those

Not so welcomed in the realm of God,

Intoxicated by the darkest temptations

Under which the ruler of death arose.

Monotony most malicious to man.

Paid no dept to freedom,

Ripped of all dignity, laid

Into a place most foul,

Sent by the Father to pay a debt

On which shall not be paid.

No one can cleanse fire below land.

Just a quick spelling fix. Wasn't sure what you intended the last one to be.

Breathe

Poem + Short Stories

I don't know if we have to prove ourselves writers, but here is a short-stroy I wrote, that I did at a writing competition which we only got 40 minutes to write at:

[spoiler=Darkness Running]

The dimming sun set, blanketed the world in an unwelcoming, black fog. I panicedly scurried with no sense of direction. I had no idea where I was. I made an effort of shreiking for help, but my muttered croaks were heard by no one.

"Time of Death, 7:16 pm," I heard a voice say.

"Help!" I squeled, remembering I had just been in a plane crash, "Someone! Over here!"

I was so dizzy, it had only felt like I was running around. I found I was pierced and trapped by pieces of the plane.

I waited for what seemed like hours, praying. I realized the plane was really burning now. I was so nervous, my whole body went numb. Maybe that was better than pain, maybe it wasn't. I still couldn't see anything, because of the thick smoke, abrasing my nostrils each time I dare took a breath.

"I think there's one over here!" I heard a fireman shout, but I knew it was already too late. There was absolutely no chance that-

"Time of death, 7:43 pm," one said, and I gawked in sorrow and disbelief, head in my hands, as I watched them load me into a body bag, and carry me away.

I also have a manga going, and even though it is a manga, it still takes time to write.

We need topics of discussion in the meantime to stop the thread drying up. Does anyone want to share any thoughts on a book that they are reading? Or maybe a piece of spontaneous writing they would like us to read? Possibly a link to a Fan Fiction?

Feel free to check out my Pokemon one. The Link is in my sig. It's still in the early stages though.

Yeah, Pratchet is a good writer, but I don't really think he's as good as Tamora Pierce, Author of the Circle of Magic books. You should look them up, they are like Harry Potter, but they were actually written all before Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone.

Yeah, so when you get the chance, read the first quartet of the series. Then, when you are done with those ones, read her second series, The Circle Opens.

I could never get into Pratchett. His descriptions were always so crazy and obscure that my mind was left reeling. Mind you, the last time I tried to read one was over 5 years ago.

Right now I'm reading the latest Trudi Canavan book. She's steadily building her own fantasy world and an entire history to go with it. Part of the reason I really like it is because she slags political systems and picks holes in them constantly.
