My dad somehow got me Phototshop for free, but I prefer GIMP.

He got me the REAL Photoshop, not some cheap one.

But yeah, I rarely ever use Photoshop. =/

He got a torrent =P

Start using PS n00b.

No, I think he put his PS on a flashdrive then took it to my computer.

It says I have PS 6.0

I've used both products, Photoshop (CS4 and CS3) and I have also used GIMP (2.4 - 2.6).

Here are some pro's.

GIMP Pro's:

- You can select the tools more easily (doesn't really help with the product, but its more comfortable.)

- Text and Brush boxes (Fits in the 1st pro, but what the heck).

- The move tool doesn't move it exactly by an amount, but its user decision.

- You can resize layers, and not the whole image.

Photoshop Pro's:

- Easier to load brushes.

- The start up is fast.

- Clipping Masks are in the layer options.

- Gradient Maps have more options.

- You can edit the brushes with more options, which helps A LOT when smudging.

- When you hold click one tool, similar tools appear in the selection, making it more organized.

- Comes with more fonts.

- For some reason, the tutorials are way better and more effective.

- After you get used, its way easy, and since its more efficient, the better.

I won't list cons, because what someone has listed, the other one has it worse/doesn't have it.

Also, think a second. Most of the ones that said GIMP are worse GFXers than the ones that use Photoshop, but Icyblue, that'd be even better if he used PS .

Photoshop' date=' better in every way.

It's not better in the more complex way. ;)

It's not more complex. CS2 and up are easy stuff. If you have teh old PS, then it's somewhat complicated.

I used GIMP, then switched to PS, and I now realize that GIMP is bad.

PS is win. End of discussion. =]
