ragnarok1945
Doom 3 and ROE each have 4 bosses, and all 8 are unique Doom 3: Vagary, Guardian, Sabaoth, and Cyberdemon ROE: Hell Hunter Slow Time, Hell Hunter 1-Hit KO Time, Hell Hunter Invincibility Time, and Maledict
Saturn of Elemia
It would be awesome if the forces of Hell came up with a demon that looked like you and used the same weapons as you. What a fight that would be, right? Mirror matches are always intense - especially if other demons come in to join the fun.
ragnarok1945
problem is enough demons have trajectory attacks of their own already. I guess hell thought that alone will suffice
Saturn of Elemia
But their trajectory attacks are kinda weak. Having to face yourself is ALMOST always one of the biggest challenges in a game. If it had the ability to circle strafe, it might come down to who is more skilled with the fists/chainsaw. ragnarok1945
Well the Z-Sec zombies they probably felt would suffice. For me, I always fight the shielded type with the chainsaw (once I acquire it). The only one that's actually a threat is the shotgun type
Saturn of Elemia
Too bad the Zombie grunts never have enough endurance to make them worthwhile opponents. In the original Doom games, the grunt with the Chaingun was always the biggest threat - followed by the Shotgun ones.
ragnarok1945
Oh that's the Chaingun Commando zombie. He's certainly VERY annoying, I'll give you that much, but still not enough of a threat, mainly because by that time I have the rocket launcher, and his bullets only do 3 damage per bullet

They take about 2 regular Shotgun blasts to drop or a well-placed Double Shotgun blast. However, it's better to try and get them to shoot each other instead. ragnarok1945
They come in pairs, at the most in Doom 3. In terms of groups, they do come in that, but there's only ONE chaingun commando zombie, the rest are tentacle type.

ragnarok1945
you mean close quartered and such? There are plenty of cases where you have to fight in open environments.
Saturn of Elemia
Getting up close and personal with the forces of Hell isn't exatly where I want to be - unless I have a Berserker Pack where I can splatter anything I come across with my bare hands. The originals were more sinister with their enemy placements. You might come across a SINGLE Chaingum guy once in a while, but more often than not run into AT LEAST 3 or more. ragnarok1945
please. Getting up close and personal with Hell's demons is just fine once you have the plasma gun, chaigun, rocket launcher, and BFG9000. And the reason why you never run into more than 2 chaingun commando zombies is because there's always other enemies nearby, which limits your room to manuver

No, I mean you are not swarmed as much. At most you fight 3 at a time. With a few exceptions. DOOM3 Is easily the scariest game of all the DOOM series. That is, until DOOM4. ragnarok1945
I don't see how that becomes scary. If you fight less, it makes it easier to deal with.

Just like an inch or so outside their range of melee or something
