[spoiler=Prologue]

A lone Commandwolf is dashing along a desert. The pilot is a messenger; he needs to deliver an important message to the Helios Republic. Something else is with him though, planning to stop him. A dark figure appears on the horizon. It is slowly walking towards the messenger, he does not know who or what it is. Until it’s too late. He gets to close and he soon realizes it’s a Zelos Empire Genosaur. He turns to make a run for it, but he was too close. The Genosaur shoots it’s claws and it grabs on to the Commandwolf. It sends and electric shock through the claws, stunning the Commandwolf. He reels the claws back in with the Commandwolf, and bites the cockpit. It roars and drops the Commandwolf in triumph. War has begun.

 

 

[spoiler=Chapter 1; Beginning]

In a futuristic apartment on the 5th floor a young male is taking a shower. A TV is near the shower broadcasting the news.

 

“The Zelos Empire has been raiding nearby countries in an attempt to locate an ancient Zoid in hopes of conquering the continent.”

 

Kazuki sighed and quickly turned off the TV. He was out of the shower with his cloths on. He headed to door and went outside, to school. Not any school. A Zoid pilot school. He was a student at the school for the sole purpose of learning how to pilot a Zoid and to protect his city at all costs. Zev City, the capital of the Helios Republic and the biggest city on the continent. Kazuki finally made it to the academy and entered the building. It was a well facilitated building with good staff. He made a right down a long hallway; he got to the end and turned left to open a door. He was inside a classroom now. He quickly chose a seat in the top row. The teacher went on with her rant about Zoids and how you should treat them and basic piloting procedures. When she was finished the class went to a hanger at the south end of the city and got ready to launch their Zoids. Kazuki quickly got to his Red Shield Liger and jumped in. He strapped himself and flexed Liger’s legs to check if he was ready.

 

“Ok class, remember not to put too much strain on your Zoids during launch or…”

 

Kazuki didn’t catch the rest, he was flung into the open desert, and he landed and looked back. He could make out the teacher screaming for him to come back.

 

Meanwhile.

 

“Argh… That annoying boy! Dax, go and get him ok?”

 

A guy around Kazuki’s age nodded and quickly strapped into his Atak Cat. He launched and landed behind Kazuki.

 

“Kazuki, teach says to get back…”

 

Kazuki smirked. “Why? I’m doing fine here.”

 

“Kazuki, for real. She says that there’s a Hellrunner pack by the plateau so we should…”

“Shut up Dax.”

 

“Ok…”

 

Kazuki started off to the plateu in full speed. Dax soon followed keeping up.

 

On top of the plateau a guy and girl around Kazuki’s age stand their motionless. Their Zoids, a Commandwolf and a Redler stand there waiting. The girl turns to the guy and whispers.

 

“They’re coming…”

 

“I know. Get in the sky, once they get close enough strike, I’ll get in their and mess them up…”

 

The girl giggled and sped off to her Redler. The guy turned back to Kazuki and Dax and sighed.

 

 

[spoiler=Chapter 2; Face off]

Kazuki was half way to the plateau, out of no where a red blur flashed by him and his front left leg was hit. Liger tumbled over and landed on its back. Kazuki now recognized it as a Redler, a dragon like aerial Zoid. It did a quick loop and was now flying towards Dax. Dax didn’t see it and it brought it’s claws into the Atak Kat’s back and dragged it up. Kazuki spun Liger and fired some shots from his basic cannon on liger’s underbelly. The shots missed and the Redler flew higher with Dax. A beam whizzed pass Liger’s head and crashed into a low rock. Liger turned only to see a black CommandWolf slowly walking to Liger.

 

“Who are you?” Kazuki asked agitation in his voice.

 

“Since your going to die anyways I might as well tell you. I am a Zelos Empire Commando, or soldier. However you want to put it…”

 

“Zelos Empire?! They already started to invade!?”

 

“No fool. We are only a scout force…”

 

“What’s your name then?! I at least have to know before I whoop your ass!”

 

The man smirked, “My name is Auster, your not getting any more information than that though…”

 

“Now… die…”

 

Auster said it so calmly and seriously that it didn’t seem like he meant it. His CommandWolf charged and fired a shot at Liger’s right shoulder. Liger stumbled to the right and roared in fury. The CommandWolf had a long turret like sniper on it’s back, it was surprisingly powerful. He fired another shot and Kazuki was hit in the left rear leg.

 

“Damnit! Stop moving…”

 

“Can’t keep up?”

 

Auster was running around Kazuki and firing shots at his legs. Kazuki pondered for a minute and froze. He then quickly lunged Liger to his right and Auster was in his paws. He bit down and the CommandWolf howled.

 

“Not bad, but I’m better!”

 

Auster got out of Liger’s claws and spun around. His Command Wolf’s fangs had electricity sparking all around.

 

“Electron… Fang!”

 

 

Kazuki stood there stunned. Auster had his CommandWolf’s fangs in Liger’s damaged shoulder. It was sparking electricity and Auster pulled back. Liger tumbled to the ground, paralyzed. Auster stood triumphant over his prey. His com went off and the girl’s voice could be heard.

 

“Auster, we’re gonna have to pull back… They have a Raynos, it got a lucky shot on me…”

 

“Fine, Terra let’s pull back…”

 

Auster took one last look at Kazuki and for a moment their face’s met. Then Auster pulled away and ran back towards the plateau. Liger got up and slowly walked towards the launch area. Dax ran up to him and walked beside him.

 

“What happened? Did you get hurt?”

 

Liger roared at Dax and his Atak Kat quivered in fear. A Raynos, a Ptera like aerial Zoid flew low enough to be in view. A girl appeared on the com screen.

 

“Hey Kazuki! Time to go back…”

 

“Fine! Fine, fine, fine.”

 

Dax snickered. “Rei is always right…”

 

“Shut up!”

 

 

[spoiler=Chapter 3; MIA]

Auster yawned. He was sitting in a luxurious room. A nice couch with a nice TV and an overall beautiful room. He was sitting on a plush red couch. Parallel to him was his commander, which wasn’t too happy.

 

“I still say you could easily take on that city.”

 

Auster rolled his eyes. “Impossible.”

 

“You could easily come up with a strategy to blow the opposing forces away…” The commander yawned. She was a middle aged woman, with long purple hair. She wore an officer’s uniform.

 

“So? Their pilots are capable to fight ours.”

 

The woman rolled her eyes. “Hmph. Just an excuse.”

 

Auster sighed. “Will that be all?”

 

“Yes Auster, you’re dismissed.”

 

Auster nodded, stood up and saluted. He exited the room and headed to his room. Terra was waiting there. She had an anxious look on her face.

 

“How’d it go?”

 

“Fine Terra… Just fine.”

 

Terra pouted and shrugged.

 

“Fine…”

 

She quickly left the room. Auster went to his bed and sighed. He sat down and held his head.

 

“First we get assigned here. Now we pretend to go MIA, and then what?”

 

 

In her room, the commander, Vare, sits quietly. She had made the important decision to break away from the Zelos Empire. Something that was not done easily. She would now be shunned from her friends, and once allies. All for one so called treasure. Everyone on board the Gusher(Whale King) was still under her command. Whether they liked it or not. Their fate was decided by her, and her alone. That unfortunately, brought her uneasiness. They decided to assault Zev city in hopes of gaining information in to where they needed to go.

 

“All pilots, please report to your zoids…”

The intercom buzzed. “The assault begins now…”

 

Terra checked her system and signaled to Auster. He sat in his CommandWolf and waited. Terra’s Redler stood above his CommandWolf, with it’s legs grabbing hold of the CommandWolf. *Chink* The door of the Whale King’s stomach opened up and they were sent flying down. Terra pulled them up and they soared, several others soon joined them.

 

The assault begins now…

 

 

[spoiler=Chapter 4; Battlefield, Part 1]Down on the battlefield a lone Zabat zoomed through the sky. It twisted and weaved through the crowd of Pteras, killing them oh so easily. The pilot, a young soldier, was excited. He dived down and effortlessly destroyed a platoon of Storm Scissors. As the Zabat twisted upward like a ballerina skating on an ice rink, it suddenly bursted into flames. A long way from the scene, a Snipemaster was posed in a deadly position. The small raptor like Zoid was facing away from the battle, it’s tail the barrel of a powerful sniper. The pilot in side smirked at the image of the Zabat he had just killed. Satisfied, he turned his attention to a nearby squad of rev Raptors. They shouldn’t pose a threat. He slowly picked off a Rev Raptor every shot. Oddly enough, the pack did not disperse. They kept coming forward. Before the pilot knew it, they were on him, tearing him to shreds. A roar was heard and the Rev Raptors turned to see a posed Physcho Geno. It fired it’s pulse beam. The Rev Raptors were torn apart in seconds. A young girl in the cockpit laughed manically. “Oh, so easy!”
