Guest JoshIcy
I am against this for the following reasons; - Those who need to contact a Mod, have one of 3 options. --- To PM them. --- To seek out MSN/AIM contact. (Meebo, Trillian and Pidgin all exist).--- Use the Report System. (Though I would only use this if you can integrate it into an actual report as you would be notifying all mods). - If you are aiming for cutting down on the personal conversation. I fail to see how this is a good thing. Most can aim their conversations toward the thread, as well as be slightly or more off topic. This is for personality in people, beyond normal opinions. Anything extremely off topic is expected to be in PM, if not the person is to be rightly penalized so. Ooh and btw... MSN nudging can be turned off. I have it turned off on my normal MSN. Brushfire
Counter-argument: -Some members cannot use IM programs.-It's a friendly thing, not a reporting thing-PMs are not instantaneous-Report system is lame-Nudging is useful most of the time so turning it off is dumb

Xing
I.............AH I NEED A FREAKIN' PEN!!!!!!..........Ah, there's one. *signs*. Yeah, I'm sick of endless PMS, when I know I'm gonna be chating PM wise, I usually send them to my site for a chatbox chat. Oops, dropped the pen down a sewer............oh well... Guest JoshIcy
Counter-argument: 1a)Some members cannot use IM programs.2a)It's a friendly thing' date=' not a reporting thing3a)PMs are not instantaneous4a)Report system is lame5a)Nudging is useful most of the time so turning it off is dumb[/quote'] 1b) Then they have the responsibility to wait patiently. If that cannot be done, then umm... Whats the phrase? "Too bad". Or possibly forward the complaint to another mod.2b) If that is so, then umm... Why does the current thing not work? PM's and alternate meanings are fine. Also, most clubs cover that anyway. And post count just doesn't get a big increase.3b) Look at 1b.4b) Right... Because the moderator always has time to sift through hundreds of threads. This saves time. Even though they do it as it is, a little help never hurt anyone.5b) Yes... Because most programs don't flash up the options as it is. Shaking the screen is an annoyance if you already pay attention.

Uchiha
This is absolute fail. This would be whored in the longrun. n00bs will invade the chatbox asking for cybering, then this site goes downhill. The complete scheme of this is an absolute no.This has no point what-so-ever.Unless it is moderator only, and those who moderators chose with the supervision of the moderators, this could never work. The whole thing could still be downhill. Spam would increase and this site would go from peak to stump in about a week.
Brushfire
Provide valid evidence to support your claim. You have no valid reasoning as to why and how. PokéCommunity is actually bigger then this site in terms of activity, and they can handle it. Saying "omg it's fail n00bs will invade" isn't logical or valid. If they can handle it, why can't we? Icy... what I said on MSN. It's true.
Gogeta™
I don't support. I don't support mainly because the members of the forum have little say in what can be changed or done. So basically its YCMaker's call and he usually doesn't make changes to the forum even if its wanted by a large number of members.

Brushfire
Explain how it could ruin a forum. Also, if you aren't going to sign or offer a counter-debate then don't comment.
Sbamber
It could ruin a forum cause members will use that to contact each other and not use the accual forum to make posts. So, they use the chatbox instead.
Xing
Fine, no more stupid stuff. It could ruin it though, n00bs do tend to do stuff endlessly. And it could lag if a bunch of people are all on it at once. What kind of chatbox are you thinking of anyway?
Brushfire
Fan-Fiction and Role Play would not be able to cope. Along with GFX. And TCG, My Deck, etc. To some extent, Clubs wouldn't be able to cope either. The Chatbox would never take over a forum, there's a reason to why we're posting on a forum and not suggesting this in a huge Chatbox right now. Xing
Yeah, people would want to raise their post count and post, and use the Chatbox for General chat between 2-4 people. So what type of chatbox? Like some Java thing or like Xat?

Kiryu
As long as you have the option to hide it- like on TPM- then I'll sign. It would beuseful to the mods to ban excessive spammers from the CBoxes for a set period of time, by the way. It's not as if nobody can handle it...
