Godot
He means a Ghost that can be a Cryptid. I liek Hinotamas.
DNovaKnight
The only way for a ghost and cryptid to be mixed would be a phantasmic being. Which wouldn't really be either an animal or a ghost, bt more of an angelic creature. You can't be both. Anything like that would ascend to a higher realm of possibilities. Remember ... cryptids are looking for demons. Anything cryptid needs logical evlutionary traits. How would ghost abilities be evolved.  ERGO ... IMO - stuff like phantasmic beings, hell hounds, etc (anyhting outside the realm of scientific supported abilities) would not be a cryptid, but an experience of the spiritual.  - that make sense? FYI ... Hinotamas are very scarey cryptids ... simply becasue they are brought to life from cards and you have no freaking idea what they are. lol
-Berserker-
A flying jellyfish can be confused with a ghost. A flying jellifish can exist.
DNovaKnight
you mean atmospheric beasts? yah, those would be animals. Not ghosts. "confused with a ghost" is fine. i'm just saying something can't actually have properties of a ghost and be somethig other than a ghost. It'd have to be a ghost ... or a spiritual entity (ie: Angel, Demon, etc)

DNovaKnight
>.< Guys I don't think animals have an spirit form that would linger. You're totally emrging 2 different fields. The closest thing to a ghost-cryptid hybrid are either some depictions of demon flyers or abominable snowman. But thats only realatively few. They aren't ghosts but described as such due to their bioluminescience or their perfect camflauge and possible hypnotic tendencies. As far as Wendigo ... those are some interesting tales. It's basicaly an extrapolation of elden practices where if one ate the flesh of an animal they would recieve their gift. ie: drink bull blood -> recieve its strengthThe wendigo reflects the taboo portion of this belief of if you eat another human you take upon their dark qualities, and more importantly because you ate something equal to you, you become sub-human. The wedigo is usually depicted as a tall ferocious hairy beast. Some say lycan others bigfootish. IDK. BUT ... myths of humanois forest man eaters persist in many cultures around the world. So it's either the subconscious reconginiton of the taboo ... or there is reality to it. This also goes along slightly with the mapinquari "fetid beast" legends of the amazon. -Berserker-
But Mapinguari is a giant sloth. There is not misticism behind it.

-Berserker-
Lycaon was a king. He tried to fool Zeus giving him food made with human flesh to eat. Zeus recognized the flavor and punished him, transforming him into a man-eating wolf. He end up devouring his own sons.
