Umbra
[spoiler=Elwynn Forest] It was morning. Renn and his brother Gedric had run into the forest just south of their home in the town of Goldshire, on their own adventure for honor and victory. Renn's eighth birthday had passed but a week ago, and his father Thomas had carved him a wooden sword. Gedric was four years older, and was apprenticed to Beckett Blacksmith. Over the last few weeks, Gedric had with the help of his master forged a sword for himself; a sharp blade with an edge of steel. Now, the brothers ventured to the south, carefully avoiding the wild boars. They knew from past experience that the animals of the forest could be provoked easily, and stayed calm. After a few minutes, they came to the Fargodeep Mine. The quarry stretched out far before them, kobolds scurrying in and out of the tunnels. Occasionally, they'd find a streak of copper far beneath, but they had been mining for years and little was found. Gedric and Renn paused for a few minutes at the ridge, looking down on the dusty ground beneath them. It was a breathtaking sight. One could almost see as far as the Duskwood forests to the south. Gedric shuddered at the thought. His master had a brother, a knight in the service of marshal Dughan, who had been sent to the Duskwoods to fight back the undead and the werewolves. The brother had returned ten years later, with one arm lost and a bewildered look on his face. He had disappeared a few months later. Lost in his own thoughts, Gedric didn't hear his brother at first. "What's that, Ged? To the south." Gedric turned his head. Renn's eyes were sharper than his, but he could make out moving shadows between the trees. The shades moved slowly, but seemed to be heading west, towards Westfall or the grand city. Without any notice, Renn dashed ahead and slid down the hillside, a slope of almost a hundred yards. "Renn!" Gedric cursed his brother's impatience, and dashed down after him. The kobolds wouldn't harm a child, but the rush down might. He heard a cry as his brother bounded off a rock, and he steered away. As they came down to the mine's entrance. "Don't you ever do that again, Renn." Gedric's brother looked at him shamefully for a few moments, and turned back to the south. "What do you think they are, brother?" Gedric shook his head. "Don't know. Maybe it would be best if we just-" Gedric froze as he recognized a shape moving out from the forests to the south. The winged creature looked almost like a human, but stood much broader and taller. The leathery wings didn't look like they would last for a flight, but they struck fear in Gedric's heart. A dreadlord, a leader of the undead and a magician unlike any other. This could only mean one thing, Gedric realized. The Scourge had returned, and they were coming for Stormwind. [spoiler=The Defenders of Stormwind]Welcome. The Siege of Stormwind will hopefully be the first of many WoW Role-Plays that I will host in the Darkest Before Dawn series. You play as members of the Alliance, who will in this first chapter defend Stormwind against an attack from the Scourge and the Dreadlord Bel'sharn. Thereforth, you will only be able to choose from the races of the Alliance: Mankind, the dwarves, the gnomes, the night elves, and the draenei. Obviously, only the appropriate classes can be selected as well. However, that is where any likeness with the game's system ends. You won't have Hit Points, Mana, Rage, Threat or anything similar. To join the roleplay, fill out the below form. For a full list of classes for each race, see this page. The Death Knight Hero Class is excluded. Final Fantasy Revolution
ooc: Do we have to be level 1? Can you be the actual level you are in the game?
Umbra
OoC: As said in the first post, we do not use levels in this RP. The characters would be the equivalent of a Level 10, more or less, but you won't randomly see flashes of light around you when you've killed enough kobolds or find yourself navigating through talent trees. It's an RP, not an RPG.

fenrir
OoC: Err, didn't read properly. Sorry. Personally I would like the items and spells to be the same.
Umbra
OoC: Terms as "Spells" or "mounts" don't exist in Darkest Before Dawn. The Race / Class is merely to define what your character looks like, and what kind of powers they would use. As a warlock, you don't repeatedly cast Shadow Bolt until your enemy falls over and breaks, you try to force yourself behind the enemy's shields and tear them apart from inside. It's an RP, not an RPG.
fenrir
OoC: Okay, but can we actually use mounts? Not to alter our speed but just to be realistic.
Umbra
OoC: Yes, you know how to ride. Remember that you're a night elf, though, and isn't as comfortable on a horse as you would be on a nightsaber.

Umbra
Sorry, not accepted. Name not appropriate for a Night Elf, insufficient grammar, and various other reasons. Unless you change that, quite a large change, you're not in.

Umbra
OoC: Fenrir: Shapeshifting is a difficult task, even for talented druids, in Darkest Before Dawn. You can partially shift, gaining a few treats of the chosen animal, but you cannot transform fully. That ability will be available later. FFR: As long as you check the spelling while you roleplay, it's fine. You're in. Everyone else: More dwarves and gnomes, please. Draenei, too. Final Fantasy Revolution
ooc: fair enough, are we allotted more then one character?
Umbra
OoC: Nope. You have one role to play already: Two different ones could change the outcome of certain situations. Compare it to multi-boxing in the game itself.
