Tabris
[align=center]THE OASIS Now, now, you oh-so-obviously stumbled upon this page for one of two reasons: 1. ~Shore
I don't like the idea of bowing before someone or something that may or may not exist. Also, faith is a power, and power generally corrupts, and religion is very often corrupt. And, I hate missionaries knocking on my door lol.

Jericho
I find that religion is futile. I feel that the only thing its good for is comforting people, which is futile, and causing war (like WW2 and the Iraq War).
~Shore
thats trueand regarding war, if your going to be religious, at least with Christianity & Judaism, you gotta remember the whole "thou shalt not kill" thing. I hate it when theres these people doing wars based on religion, which says not to kill. If you can't stay out of war, than you fail at following your religion anyway, and then by using religion as a political statement, you basically show that you're completely full of it. plz excuse mah rantz

I must add another: it's also good at stiflin' speculation in areas that should be subject to such. One might bring up Galileo or Copernicus, for instance. CrabHelmet
I was going to join, but then I saw the current member base and decided not to join, so I came down here to make the post you're reading right now to explain this. Oh, and "Thou shalt not kill" is oft interpreted as "Thou shalt not murder".
Tabris
... thus whittlin' it all down to atrocities committed by Homo sapiens. (If I'm readin' it right.) Anyhow, Crab, will you join if this club had more members?
Jericho
Thou shalt not kill is usually interpereted as thou shalt not kill people of the same religion or race as you.

Jericho
I think our first discussion, when the time comes whether it be now or when and if we get more members, is the blantant breaking of the first rule of YCM. There is a thread that is quite objectional in general. It links to the Book of Revalation in 22 parts on YouTube.
Silas Angel
And, Omega, what would the first rule of YCM be?
Jericho
This is a family friendly forum; we could potentially have members of young ages. Do not post links to sites that have content rated more "mature" than PG-13 (Some PG-13 content' date=' swearing and partial nudity in particular, is prohibited from the boards.). Any material that is pornographic, sexually explicit, visually offensive, derogatory, or discriminates on the basis of gender, race, ethnicity, color, creed, religion, lifestyle, or, [b']any other material[/b] (includes nudity and offensive pictures) that may be deemed as objectionable in a public community environment, is prohibited and breaching this is a bannable offense. Use of foul language, including swear words, real-world racial slurs, alternate spellings, and other language that is not consistent with the fantasy environment will be allowed but any complaints will be served, and the poster of the language will be banned. Just because the boards are PG-13, it does not allow you to violate these rules in any way. Offensively named accounts which may be deleted/renamed at any time without warning. Silas Angel
Apologies, I should have specified that I too meant that thread. And my point still stands. I'm only saying that what the minority finds offensive, the majority demands and this is, in my view, wrong.

I'm sorry if that's not what you were saying. My brain isn't working at 100% efficiency right now.
Silas Angel
Well, of course they're allowed to be but that's not the point. :P The point is, what is the definition of the term used: objectionable. Is it by the majority, by the moderators?
