well think about it....The deal between light and the death god was that if light used the death note it would be the death god that takes his life...when that time was was always up to the death god....and think about this...what if lights life was already shorter than misa...if thats the case then if his life was cut by half then it would still be shoeter than misa's(Srry if its too long)
