Chapter 8 – Fury Kal: 8000, 6Onika: 8000, 5 “I place 1 card face-down and end my turn,” Kal said. He only controlled 1 card, a face-down Trap. “Fine, then I draw!” Onika exclaimed. He clearly had the field advantage. Onika had one monster already from his previous turn, and its effect powered it up to a steep 2400 ATK. Onika took a look at his hand, deciding what to do. His eyes darted to look at the field; his blue eyes glowed with that hazy, green light when his mind tried to wrap around the possibility of his opponent having no monsters. This was incredible to him. “I will not Summon this turn, since I will get an adverse effect with my Yoxera if I control more than him alone. So, with him, I will attack you directly!” The creature walked forward, its body resembled that of highly-pressurized, flowing water. It went for the direct route to Kal’s Life Points. But Kal wouldn’t allow that. “I activate my face-down, Standlach the Fire Resolve!” The Trap Card flipped up then moved forward a few feet. It glowed and disappeared, leaving behind a man with flowing, red hair who wore red armor. Yoxera stopped dead in its tracks. “What the hell…?” Onika wondered out loud. The Trap didn’t do anything, and somehow there was a monster on Kal’s field. 1300/1900/LV4
Standlach the Fire ResolveContinuous Trap Card After activation, Special Summon this card in Attack Position; it is treated as an Effect Monster Card (Warrior-type/FIRE/Level 4/ATK 1300/DEF 1900). When this card is Summoned, Special Summon 1 Level 3 or lower Ally monster in your hand to Vector 1 of this Stack and have it gain 500 ATK. If a monster in a Vector above this card is destroyed, your opponent loses 700 Life Points. (This card is also still treated as a Trap Card.) “This card is a Trap Monster. Once activated it is Special Summoned and gives me a creature to defend myself,” Kal explained, “However,” he continued, “that is not the end of the effect.” Standlach raised his arm into the air, and then before him appeared another creature. This was another man, seemingly to be the same man in the red armor. But that was only in the hair and face; this new creature wore a flowing white and green coat and he had a blue aura around him. 300/300/LV2
Yematuga the Water ResolveWATER/Spellcaster - Ally/2/300/300 When an Ally monster you control is destroyed, you can Special Summon this card from your hand in Attack Position. When this card is Summoned, you can move this card to the bottom Vector of 1 Stack you control. If this card is selected as an attack target, you can send 1 Level 2 or lower Ally monster in your hand to the Graveyard to have this card gain ATK equal to the combined ATK and DEF of the sent monster. Onika seemed puzzled, and irritated. “When Standlach is Summoned, as he just was, I am forced to Special Summon a Level 3 or lower Ally monster to the Vector above him. This new monster is Yematuga, and it is a level 2. And since it was Special Summoned its attack power is increased by the effect of my Standlach, up to 800. However, the fun doesn’t stop there…” Yematuga: ATK – 300 ~ 800 Kal took the deck out of the slot in his wrist for his arm had the ability to transform into a duel disk thanks to the Cyborg transplant he received half a year ago. He began to search his deck. “Since my Yematuga was Special Summoned from my hand, this triggers the abilities of my Muyatak from my Deck! He is added to my hand, and since I have two different copies of him, I get an immediate plus-two!” Kal added both cards from his deck to his hand, and then shoved the deck back into his empty wrist. The deck slot auto-shuffled after that. Onika was getting really mad now. Kal was using up his turn when it was Onika that should be battling! “Enough, Kal! Are you finished?” Kal looked into Onika’s glowing, green eyes. “Take it away, Mr. Conductor.” Onika hated Kal’s witty sarcasm. “Fine, now that the number of monsters on the field has changed during the Battle Phase a replay occurs. Now I am allowed to attack again.” “Ah, but you only have one target, since my Standlach is at the bottom of the Stack. You cannot select him as an attack target.” Onika glared at him. Kal shrugged. “Fine, then I will use my Yoxera to attack your puny Spellcaster!” The pressurized-water man changed course and now moved toward the new man in white. Neither of them looked scared for what was about to come. Yoxera moved to strike… “Not so fast!” Kal said as he took one card from his hand and placed it in the Graveyard slot. “What is going on now?” Onika said, perturbed. “When my Yematuga is attacked, I am allowed to discard a Level 2 or lower Ally from my hand to give it an attack boost! So I discard my Muyatak…” “You can’t! That creature is a Level 3 monster…” “Not while it is in my hand!” Kal countered, “Its effect leads it to be a Level 2 while in my hand only.” Onika was fuming. The blade of pressurized water slammed down on the man in white, but it stayed put right where his shoulder meets his neck. It didn’t move. The Ally was not dead. It got an attack boost. ATK: 800~2700 The man in white retaliated, punching a hole right through the Lone Battler’s chest. He staggered back and then melted, losing all power to keep his form together. Kal: 8000, 6Onika: 7700, 6 Kal had drawn first blood. Onika let out an irritated cry, but then sighed. “It seems that he has outlived his use, so let's see his replacement,” he said, “I Summon my Lone Battler, Tossroba!” From the wet ground appeared a man that seemed more bear-like than human. He had on a breastplate and he held a massive club in both hands. 1900/1500/LV4
Created Card by Aelsthla-Mental Lone Battler, TossrobaBeast-Warrior••••FIRE1900/1500If this card is the only monster on your side of the field, once per turn you can inflict damage equal to half this card's original attack to your opponent's life points. If there is another monster on your side of the field, you must pay 500 life points during your standby phase. If not, this card is destroyed. App: A massive (3 meters tall) grizzly-esque bear wearing a breastplate, it wields a massive (1.1 meters) club. “Now I activate his effect! He deals damage to you equal to half of his attack points!” The man-bear took a splinter out of his club and threw it at Kal. It was a fairly big splinter, and it left a mark. Kal: 7050, 6Onika: 7700, 5 “Now I set two cards face-down and I end my turn,” Onika said as he slid two cards into his duel disk. Kal drew his card, but he didn’t need it. He already knew what he was going to do. “I Summon to Vector 1 of this Stack my second Muyatak!” Kal said. He placed the card on top of the other two, enlarging the current Stack. The card disappeared and revealed another man who looked closely related to the other two in the face, but his clothing was slightly different. He, too, wore white, but this was a more formal-ware kimono. 1400/500/LV3
Muyatak the Earth ResolveEARTH/Warrior - Ally/3/1400/500 The Level of this card is treated as 2 while it is in your hand. During the Damage Step this card gains ATK equal to the number of Vectors below this card x400. If this card is selected as an attack target you can return this card to your hand. When "Simetu the Wind Resolve" or "Yematuga the Water Resolve is Special Summoned from your hand you can add this card in your Deck to your hand. “Such an accomplishment, he as well is not strong enough to destroy my Tossroba.” “Wrong! Now that Muyatak is the first Vector, he gains attack points when he attacks! He will gain 400 additional points for each monster that backs him, and currently that is two.” Onika did the math in his head; it was in fact strong enough. “Now, Muyatak! Attack his Tossroba now!” The man in the white kimono darted forward and leapt into the air, coming down with a new-found force from his allies. ATK: 1400~2200. “I activate my face-down, Mirage Token! This will make a duplicate of my Tossroba!” Onika flipped up the card, and suddenly a grey version of the beast appeared right next to him.
Created Card by Aelsthla-Mental Lone MirageNormal Trap You can only activate this effect while you control only one "Lone Battler" monster. Special summon one "Lone Mirage" token (4/?/?). The token's attack, defense, Type, Attribute and Effect is the same as the "Lone Battler" monster you had on the field when you activated this card. The "Lone Mirage" Token doesn't count as being on the field for a "Lone Battler" card effect or a card that involves "Lone Battler" monsters. Also, this card's effect is always treated as if it is the only monster on the field. “Well, since they are the same, it won’t matter who I destroy! So, Muyatak, continue the rampage!” Kal said. Muyatak came down on the beast, destroying it instantly. Kal: 7050, 5Onika: 7400, 3 “You were wrong to choose the real monster, as opposed to the Token.” Onika smiled. “What are you talking about?” Kal said. He didn’t understand the allusion. “While the Token is on the field he doesn’t count as being there. Thus, there is only one Lone Battler Monster on my field. You attacked and destroyed it, triggering my next face-down…” The last Trap Card flipped face up, revealing the next force that Kal would have to deal with.
Created Card by Aelsthla-Mental Dying CryNormal Trap This card can only be activated while you have only one "Lone Battler" on your side of the field and it is destroyed. Special Summon one level 4 or less "Lone Battler" monster from your deck. “Now that you destroyed it, I am able to Summon another monster from my Deck! So I Summon Lone Battler, Kiramas!” The Trap Card flashed and disappeared, leaving behind a new creature. He was demonic; he had on dark armor, and he had a sickening weapon: the scythe.
Created Card by Aelsthla-Mental Lone Battler, KiramasWarrior••••EARTH1800/800 If this card is the only monster on your side of the field and this card destroys a monster as a result of battle, draw a card. If there is another monster on your side of the field, when this card is destroyed, your opponent draws two cards. When this card is destroyed, you can add one "Lone Battler" from your deck to your hand. App: A demonic-looking figure (red eyes, light skin) in black armor wielding a scythe. Kal freaked out. He had started the round coming up against one monster, and now as he was coming out of it he was up against two! “I set one face-down and end.” Onika drew his card, feeling good with the last turn’s standing. “Tell me something,” Kal asked, “Why are you rooting for the Earth?” Onika seemed like he expected this question, though he didn’t want to answer. “Wind, you have been locked up for so long and yet you want to help me?” Onika raised his head from his hand to look at Kal. “I may have been locked up with the others, but believe me, I would have been that way without the Earth’s interference.” Kal was confused. Onika could see that, so he expanded. “Kal, I know you know how this all happened, how the Wind, Fire and Water Collectives were locked up by the powers of the Earth 5000 years ago. And since you are a member of the Earth Collective, being human, you think that I have a grudge against you, and thus I am against you.” “That is correct,” Kal responded. “Well, that is false. There is always conflict, even between the collectives themselves. Fire can destroy anything; life comes from the power of the Water and is conversely living in the powers of the Earth. The powers of Dark and Light are always with us through our intentions, so what is it that we, the Wind have? Nothing. And the other five know that. We are the weakest, Kal, and we have been subservient to the other Elements since the dawn of time. Believe me, I want you to win this bigger battle than you know.” What Onika said could make sense, but Kal was reluctant to believe it. It made more sense that Onika was being used to get some sort of angle against the Earth Collective in Kal’s mind. Even if the Wind was oppressed by the others, at least he was free before the Earth locked him up. “Whatever you say, Onika.” Onika looked downhearted. Kal didn’t believe him, but he still had a purpose. He had to make Kal stronger, and through this duel he would do that. “I activate the Spell Card, Two As One! This allows me to send a Lone Battler from my Deck to the Graveyard and treat my Kiramas with that monster’s effect! So I send my Twastra to the Graveyard to give him new power!” The Spell Card flipped and revealed the new power that the man in black armor would receive. “The power of my Twastra gives him the power to destroy a Spell or Trap Card for 500 Life Points! So I destroy your Standlach, since he is still treated as a Trap Card.” The man in the black armor raised his scythe into the air and channeled the power of his fallen friend from the grave. He sent a bolt of thunder to the other side of the field and destroyed the man in the red armor. Kal: 7050, 4Onika: 6900, 3 “Now, attack his Muyatak!” Onika said, sending his monster for the onslaught. He ran forward with amazing speed, running to the man in the white kimono. “Not so fast! I activate my Trap, Defensive Struggle!”
Defensive StruggleNormal Trap Card Activate when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Send 1 Ally monster from your Deck to the Graveyard with a Level greater than the Level of the attacking monster to negate the attack and end the Battle Phase. “I send a Level 5 monster from my Deck to my Graveyard to negate your attack and end the Battle Phase.” The Trap flipped and disappeared, leaving the man in black armor standing in the middle of the field. He darted back to his starting position hurriedly. “Fine,” Onika said, irritated, “I place one card face-down and end my turn.” ‘That’s odd, he must have forgotten that Token’s ability to do me damage,’ Kal thought, ‘Was that due to his wanting me to win, or due to the fact that he is fuming mad?’ Kal sent the thought out of his mind and worried about his own turn. Kal: 7050, 5Onika: 6900, 2 “I tribute my Yematuga to Tribute Summon my Gymeru the Fissure Caster!” The man in the white and green coat disappeared from behind man in the white kimono and was replaced by a man in a white and purple outfit. He had curling horns on his temples. 2350/1700/LV5
Gymeru the Fissure CastorWIND/Warrior - Ally/5/2350/1700 Once per turn you can remove from play 1 Spell or Trap Card on the field to Special Summon 1 Level 3 or lower Ally monster from your hand. If you activate this effect, this card cannot attack this turn. You can send this card to the bottom of 1 Stack you control to have the Ally monster in Vector 1 of that Stack gain 700 ATK until the End Phase. “Now I activate his Special Ability! He can remove from play your face-down and allow me to Special Summon a Level 3 or lower monster from my hand at the cost of not attacking this turn!” The man in the white and purple generated an orb of light and threw it at the face-down card on Onika’s field. It was about to be consumed by the powers of the ether realm, but Onika wouldn’t allow that to happen. “I chain this effect! My face-down card could have benefited from being destroyed, but since your removal powers are in play it wouldn’t have activated. So I activate it to make my monsters impervious to card effects this turn. Oh, and I get the added bonus that your effect is basically negated.” The face-down card activated, flashed, and disappeared before the orb could touch it, leaving the effect to falter. Gymeru now couldn’t attack, and his effect couldn’t resolve. “Fine, but I activate the power of my Firedun in my Graveyard!” Kal said. “You don’t have a monster called that in play!” Onika complained. “Oh, but I do. Remember that Level 5 monster I sent to negate your attack last turn? That was my Firedun. Since he is in the Graveyard, I can remove from play another Ally in the graveyard to Special Summon him.” Kal removed his Yematuga from play to Special Summon the only other monster in his Graveyard, Firedun. The ground shook with the power of this new creature, a man with long, black hair and black armor. His skin was starting to rot in a few places, for he was a king of the undead. 2100/1900/LV5
Firedun the Swamp ImmortalDARK/Zombie - Ally/5/2100/1900 You can remove from play 1 Ally monster in your Graveyard to Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. If you Summoned this card by this effect, no Ally monsters can be Stacked in a Vector above this card. When this card attacks a Defense Position monster, destroy it without applying damage calculation. “Now I activate the second ability of my Gymeru! By sending him to the bottom of the Stack with Muyatak I can power him up by 700 until the End Phase! And since Muyatak gains ATK from the monsters below him, he gets an additional 400 Attack Points when he attacks!” The man in the white and purple moved to a new space behind the man in the white kimono, giving him new strength. “Now, both of my creatures will attack your two monsters!” Kal said. Both Muyatak, with his boosted ATK up to 2500, and Firedun went and attacked the two monsters, sending one monster and one spell card to the Graveyard, and removing the Token from the field. Kal: 7050, 5Onika: 6000, 2 Onika fumed for a moment but quickly calmed down. Kal was winning, that was what he wanted. But he was still losing… “I end my turn,” Kal said. Onika drew his card. What he found made him smile; he would now truly test Kal to see if he was powerful enough to destroy the other powers. “Brace yourself, Iszarc, for this next turn will show if you are truly ready for the events to come.” “What do you mean?” Kal asked. “You shall see. I Summon my Lone Battler, Survivast!” A ghostly monster with ragged clothing appeared on the field. He had a holster on his hip where he kept several daggers. 600/200/LV3
Created Card made by Aelsthla-Mental, and edited to make it easier to use Lone Battler, SurvivastSpellcaster•••WATER600/200Once per turn, if this card is face-up on the field, you can add one Continuous Spell or Trap from your graveyard to your hand. If this card is the only monster on your side of the field, this card cannot be destroyed as a result of battle. If there is another monster on the field, this card cannot be destroyed by card effect and must be in face-up attack position. App: A pale, almost ghostly figure with rags for clothes and a holster where he keeps several daggers. “With his effect, I will add the Continuous Spell Card, Two As One from my Graveyard to my hand!” Onika moved the card to his hand then placed a different one on the field in his Spell and Trap Card Zone. “Next I activate the Continuous Spell, Deceptive Revival! This Special Summons two more Lone Battlers to my field.” The card flipped and flashed, and in an instant the two monsters he had destroyed in previous turns appeared: the man made of pressurized water and the bear-man. “I cannot do anything else with these three here, since they cannot activate their effects with multiple Battlers on the field.” “Then why Summon them?” Kal asked, confused. Onika smiled. “This is where your test comes in!” Onika took one of the remaining three cards in his hand and raised it high into the air, “I tribute all three of the Lone Battlers I control to Summon my ultimate beast! I Summon the Lone Battler, Warlord Michael!” The three monsters started to break apart, piece by piece. The pieces flew into the air in a spiral, all forming together in a glowing energy source. Onika slapped the card onto the disk, the glowing lines on his face and arms starting to grow stronger. All of the monsters broke into dust. That dust was being sucked into a single point, and from that point the power of the new creature was forged. That one point started to glow, and an orb grew. All of the dust was absorbed, and from the light arose a man in armor. He didn’t wield any weapon, and he wasn’t that muscular. However, he still was very menacing in a way that Kal couldn’t figure out. 3500/2400/LV9
Card Made by Aelsthla-Mental Lone Battler, Warlord MichaelWarrior•••••••••LIGHT3500/2400 This card cannot be normal summoned or set, this card can only be special summoned by releasing three "Lone Battler" monsters you control. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, the controlling player is treated as only having one monster on the field for "Lone Battler" card effects, or effects that designate "Lone Battler" cards. When this card would be removed from the field by a card effect, you can send one "Lone Battler" monster you control to the bottom of your deck to negate the card effect and destroy it. App: A man in simple armor, and average muscle size. Yet he exudes an aura that leads many to fear him, and he strikes with speed and power usually impossible for a human. “Now I activate the Spell Card I added to my hand, Two As One! By sending another Tossroba from my Deck to the Graveyard I can give my Michael the ability to inflict you 1750 damage each turn! And I think I will activate that effect now…” Onika slid the card into the slot on the field, activating the card that would allow him terrifying power but would restrain him from Summoning new creatures. He selected the monster from his deck and sent it to the Graveyard, giving his ace the get go to activate his ability. The Warlord slammed his fist into the ground, sending power crashing though the ground and headed straight for Kal. The rock erupted at his feet, sending him flying into the air. He landed on the ground several feet from where he had stood. He was slightly damaged. Kal: 5300, 4Onika: 6000, 1 “Now I will attack your Muyatak with my Warlord!” Onika said, reveling in the power that he possessed. The warlord once again struck the ground, causing a much more violent wave now that he could inflict his full strength. The ground erupted under the man in the kimono, destroying him instantly. Kal had a jolt of electricity from the blow flow through is body, taking the damage. It felt real. Kal: 3600, 4Onika: 6000, 1 Suddenly a green ring appeared around the two of them, encompassing the entire field. Kal wondered what it was but he was too weak to get up, let alone ask. Onika started to laugh maniacally, “This is the true test! I have been putting it off, so that you can build up to this point. Did you feel the pain from those last attacks? That is the power that we possess, being able to bring the duels to life! Unless you can beat this, you won’t stand a chance against the others.” When Onika said a certain phrase something came to his cyber-kinetic brain. He said that they could bring a duel to life, but isn’t that just what Trey and Alan did in the last duel he had just watched? Does that mean that Trey was indeed the strongest of them all, and they could stand a chance against the powers? “Kal!” came a terrified call from somewhere behind him. Kal twisted his head on the ground to see just who was there. Standing there was Talia. She looked frightened, like she was afraid of losing something she desperately wanted. Behind her were the other three members of the group; the sullen, depressed looking Alan; the giddy, almost happy at the moment Geoff; and the pissed, always irritated Trey. They were all there. Trey walked up to the edge of the green circle and knelt down, getting as close to Kal as he could without touching the force field. “Get up Kal,” he said. He sounded pissed, “I know you can do better than this.” Kal got angry at him, but that must have been what he needed. Kal moved his mechanical limbs and stood up to face Onika once again. Onika grinned. “I set the final card in my hand face-down and end my turn.” Kal drew his card, and not a second after Onika activated that face-down card. “I activate my face-down, Equal Tactics! Now that I only control one monster and you control multiple monsters, your monster effects cannot be activated.”
Card Made by Aelsthla-Mental Equal TacticsContinuous TrapIf you have more then one monster on your side of the field, negate this effect. As long as your opponent has more then one monster on the field, negate your opponent's monster card effects. ‘Damn it’ was the immediate thought that came to his mind. The Allies were nothing without their effects, there was essentially nothing that he could do. Kal looked at one card in his hand. He had had it since the beginning of the duel, but he didn’t use it. He didn’t ever think he would ever need to use it, but he stuck one copy of it in his Deck anyway. For some reason he thought it might become useful. “I activate Enemy Controller!” Kal said, taking that card out of his hand and placing it on the field. Normally he would have used it to change Michael into Defense Mode and then use the effect of his Firedun, destroying it instantly with his effect. But that couldn’t happen, because of Equal Tactics. He also couldn’t attack the Warlord and destroy it while it was in Defense Mode, since its Defense Points were higher than both of his monster’s Attack Points. That would mean that he would have to activate the last effect of Enemy Controller, and take the Warlord for his own. “I tribute my Firedun to take control of your Warlord!” The rotting man in the black armor grinned and disappeared. Suddenly the man in the armor on the other side of the field started to twitch. Suddenly he was gone, and he then reappeared on Kal’s side of the field. “Now, attack him directly!” Kal said to both of the creatures. It was very poetic that the ace of the Deck was the creature that helped finish him off, but Onika wasn’t beaten. Kal: 3600, 3Onika: 150, 0 Suddenly a shockwave of energy rippled around Onika, causing him great pain. He fell to his knees in agony, the light in his eyes and on the lines on his skin glowed very brightly. His head fell back, pouring light into the above space from his mouth. After a second the pain was over, the light receded, and he stood back up. He looked very weak. “I must admit,” Onika said, “That was something I didn’t expect.” “Thanks,” Kal said, “Now I activate my Field Spell, Forgotten Stronghold of the Legion! And with that, I end my turn.” A semi-transparent castle appeared behind Kal, but it still allowed Talia and the others to look at the duel from behind him.
Forgotten Stronghold of the LegionField Spell Card When you Summon an Ally monster, you gain an additional Normal Summon for an Ally monster this turn. The Ally monster Summoned with that additional Normal Summon cannot attack this turn. Geoff grabbed her arms from behind her to settle her down. The Warlord walked back over to Onika’s side of the field as he drew his card. He had one ace monster on the field and a Trap Card with a nice effect. He didn’t have much Life left though, and he only had one card in his hand. It was a Monster, but thanks to his Spell Card, Two As One, was on the field he couldn’t Summon it. “Warlord! Attack his Gymeru!” “I negate it.” Onika stared at him. “How?” “My Field Spell negates 1 attack per turn that involves an Ally monster. This is the one I negate.” Onika’s stare turned into a glare. “Fine, then I activate the ability of his to inflict another 1750 damage!” Kal: 1850, 2Onika: 150, 1 ‘Just two more turns, and I will win. There is nothing that he can do now… Not with the set up I have.’ Onika thought to himself. He grinned, but it quickly turned to a frown. He needed Kal to win. He was truly rooting for him. Kal hesitated before he drew his card. He knew that this wouldn’t destroy Onika, not the way he was dueling now. He may have only 150 Life Points left, but he didn’t have a way to get rid of his ace monster. He needed something special to win this. The top card of his deck began to glow bright yellow after he made this wish. He knew that he would get what he needed right then, the card that would help change this duel. Kal drew his card, and it was exactly what he needed. “I activate the Special Ability of my Gymeru, since I only control him! I remove from play your Equal Tactics to Special Summon my Xinthi the Assimilate Scanner from my hand!” The Trap Card disappeared, and then a small Cyborg appeared next to the man in white and purple. 0/0/LV1 “Now I can Normal Summon the card that will be key to your defeat! I Summon Divine Sanction – Ghost Knight!” Kal took the card from his hand and placed it on the field. The card flipped and out came a curious looking man with spiked hair. He had a magical aura around him. 300/400/LV2
Divine Sanction - Ghost KnightLIGHT/Warrior - Tuner/2/300/400 When this card is Normal Summoned, you can remove it from play to Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster in your hand. When this card is Special Summoned by this effect, you can add 1 "Divine Sanction" card in your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. Onika grinned, ‘Yes,’ he thought, ‘tap into the full potential of your Deck, Kal.’ “Now I remove him from play to activate his effect! Now I Special Summon my Bikex the Tenacious Gear!” Another small creature appeared next to Xinthi; it was a tiny machine. 200/300/LV1 “Those creatures are useless,” Onika said. “Maybe to my current strategy, but I assure you, they are not useless.” Onika stared at him. “That’s all.” Onika was curious where this was going. He had no idea how this strategy went, for he now had three monsters on the field, any of which could be destroyed with one strike from his ace. They didn’t work together in any way, so what was the deal? Onika drew his card, sending his hand size to two. This time is was a Trap, so he placed it face-down. “Since I cannot attack, thanks to your Field Spell, I will inflict you damage once again.” Kal took the damage and the pain that went along with it. He fell to his knees and felt like he was being ripped apart. Most of his life was being drained with this one blast. Kal: 100, 0Onika: 150, 1 “Now I end my turn,” Onika said. He had no idea how Kal would pull off a victory this turn, but if he could the powers of the Wind would be thoroughly impressed. Kal drew his card. Suddenly that strange man with the spiky hair reappeared on the field. Onika was startled; he didn’t have any clue how that happened. It was as if he had hit rewind and now he was watching last round all over again. “When my Ghost Knight removed himself by his own effect he is Special Summoned on the next turn. This triggers his other effect, now I can add another Divine Sanction card in my Deck to my hand!” Kal moved the card from his deck to his hand. He was about to pull off the impossible, but there was still one more step. “Now, I use Xinthi’s effect to copy the Level of my Level 2 Yematuga in my Graveyard. And with that, I have combined levels equaling 10.” “Why should that matter?” Onika said, but then he realized. That Ghost was also something else. A Tuner. “I send my Level 1 Bikex, my Level 2 Xinthi, my Level 5 Gymeru, and my Level 2 Ghost Knight to the Graveyard to Synchro Summon my Level 10 Synchro Monster!” The Ghost Knight broke into two glowing rings which expanded in the air to surround the other monsters. The other three dissolved into their parts, their levels. They separated to form eight orbs of light in the middle of the two rings. These parts collapsed on each other, forming a beam of light. From this light came another warrior, one of powerful strength. But even so, he was not strong enough to destroy the monster in front of him. “Now I release this Synchro Monster to Special Summon my ace, Divine Sanction – Gold Armor of the Gods!” The monster started to glow from the inside out, and then he dissolved into a giant orb of light. This light started to form into many smaller pieces of metal, parts of a suit of armor. Kal held out his arm, and then one of those golden pieces flew onto his arm. The rest of the pieces followed, equipping Kal with the suit of armor himself. ?/?/LV9
Divine Sanction - Gold Armor of the GodsLIGHT/Warrior - Effect/9/?/? This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by tributing 1 Level 7 or higher Synchro Monster you control. The ATK and DEF of this card become equal to the Level of the Synchro Monster you tributed to Summon this card x400. When this card is Summoned, you opponent must send 1 card in their hand to the Graveyard. When a Monster is sent to the Graveyard, the owner of that card takes damage equal to the Level of the sent monster x200. Once per turn, until the End Phase, you can reduce this card's ATK by any amount to have another face-up monster lose equal ATK. Onika was amazed. He had never seen something like this before… “The Attack and Defense of this card are equal to the Level of the Synchro Monster used to Summon it x400, so since he was a Level 10 Synchro the ATK and DEF of my armor are each four thousand.” Onika took a tentative step back. “But I won’t need to attack to finish you off. When my armor is first Summoned, you have to discard a card.” Onika put the monster that was the last card in his hand in his Graveyard slot. “And the effect of my armor activates! When a monster is sent to the Graveyard, you take damage equal to the level of that monster x200!” Onika came to the realization of what just happened. He just caused his own downfall by not being able to Summon his monster. “Go, Light of Sanction!!” Kal said. He raised his arm into the air and the gold armor started to glow. The light was so bright that it seemed to blow all of the other cards away, but that was only because the duel was over and the holographics were ending. The light went high into the sky, seeming to be a beacon for the termination of the duel. The light consumed it all. Next Time on Yu-Gi-Oh! TC: Trey: Holy…! Alan: That is why we aren’t allowed to use those cards in normal play. They are too powerful. Talia: I knew you could do it Kal! Kal: Onika, what exactly is going on? Onika: You will find out soon, but you are ready for what is to come.

Aelsthla-Mental
Awesome chapter yet again! You do know how to appease hey? If only he activated the effect of that token. But yeah, very interesting... So Kal is Earth. along with Mankind perhaps? Poor Onika though, he is right. What does Wind have? Well, Onika has had his duel. Wonder where Water is and what will happen next. Can't believe Kal is using the Divine Sanction cards though. Pretty sweet.

Pretty sweet.[/quote'] Yeah, what does Wind have? Well, just so you guys dont think that the wind is powerless, they do have a very interesting power. ;) i will explain it thoroughly later, but i have already hinted on what they can do. :D And, just so you keep thinking, what will happen to Onika now that the Wind was defeated? What will happen to the Wind? i cut off the chapter right where i did so you guys would wonder.. :D And i made the Divine Sanction cards just for this purpose. Aelsthla-Mental
Oh, what torture you inflict upon us! ...But yeah, with Wind defeated... I don't know, three main theories stick out: 1. Wind is simply gone, perhaps to be reincarnated or 'repossess' later to fight.2. Wind will remain to assist Kal against the other elements.3. Sort of a further thing for the second, Wind will be 'absorbed' into Kal, granting him abilities or something.

Καsτοr
Torture in this chapter is interesting. . . You leave us to wonder what'll happen, but, some people have already made guesses. And, You gave us a hint to what Wind does by, I believe, showing us Joel's future from teleporting place to place, which could have a MUCH better power. Kale
I bet it will be! :D Well, i have chapter 9 all planned out to the half-way mark in my mind, and so far it will be setting forth the plot for the entire volume, without hinting!, so that you all know what is going on, it will fill in some missing loopholes, such as the two month period from when Kal and Talia hooked up and the current day, and it will also attempt at explaining some back story. ;) i hope that it will be a success.. i am still trying to figure out a way to add a Duel in.. ;)
