Well, you actually said some stuff that's wrong, but I'll go into a little more detail.

 

-That border's HORRID......never do this again.

-There is no depth at all. Work on this. (Usually blurring things around the focal helps depth)

-Colors are ugly, IMO.

-Flow is needed.

-No blending.

-No lighting.

-Um......that text sucks beyond belief. Honestly. Stay away from text...

-Teh fractals aren't really nice. =/

 

Remember, "simple" doesn't mean it's bad. Just find some tuts to work with. Gimptalk if you're using GIMP, or Altair's Tut House or PR if Photoshop. Keep at it. ;)

Everything but the border looks good. Maybe work on the text a bit, but I like this one in particular, because the colors go well together.
