Now the effect of my "Koa'ki Meiru Guardian" activates, during my End Phase its destroyed unless I send 1 "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" to the Graveyard or reveal 1 Rock-type monster in my hand to my opponent, so I reveal from my hand "Koa'ki Meiru Boulder"(LV4/EARTH/Rock/Effect/ATK/1200 DEF/1000), so he's safe.

 

("Odd set of monsters." thought Knight. "But like all monsters they will fall.") "My turn." said Knight.

(Caleb counters: I activate "Koa'ki Mieru Guardian"(s) effect, by tributing it, I can negate your monster's effect and destroy it.) In that case, I play the spell "Double Summon", so I can Normal Summon again, so I summon "Kingdom - Swordsman"(LV3/EARTH/Warrior/Effect/ATK/1500 DEF/500) Now I activate his effect, once per turn, I can Special Summon 1 LV4 or lower "Kingdom" monster from my hand, so I Special Summon "Kingdom - Jester Imposter"(LV2/EARTH/Warrior/Tuner/ATK/800 DEF/800) Now I activate his effect, once per turn, I can Special Summon another "Kingdom - Jester Imposter"(LV2/EARTH/Warrior/Tuner/ATK/800 DEF/800) from my Deck. (Caleb: Hand: 4) Now I activate my second face-down. Another "Core Reinforcement" and I'm using it to revive my ultimate "Koa'ki Meiru". (Knight says: What?!) Come forth! "Koa'ki Meiru Valafar"(LV8/FIRE/Fiend/Effect/ATK/3000 DEF/2100) Now I summon "Koa'ki Meiru Sea Panther"(LV4/WATER/Sea Serpent/Effect/ATK/1900 DEF/1200) Now "Koa'ki Meiru Valafar" destroy his "Kingdom - Royal Knight". (Knight counters: I activate the trap "Appearing Moat", when this card is activated, the Battle Phase ends and I can activate the "Kingdom - Moat" Continuous Spell from my Deck.) I end my turn. Now "Koa'ki Meiru Valafar"(s) effect activates, but I chain it with "Koa'ki Meiru Sea Panther"(s) effect, so I discard "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" for "Valafar"(s) effect and I reveal the Fiend-type monster "Koa'ki Meiru Ice"(LV3/WATER/Aqua/Effect/ATK/1900 DEF/200) in my hand to keep "Koa'ki Meiru Sea Panther" in play.

 

Meanwhile where Wiraq, D.C.Q., and the Emperor is...

 

"Your knight is quite skilled, Emperor." said Wiraq.

 

"Yes, but that Koa'ki Meiru Deck might pose as a problem, but it's nothing Knight can handle." said the Emperor. "By the way, are you sure you're alright with one of my team taking out one of your own?"

 

"Go ahead." said D.C.Q. "He serves no purpose to me anymore."

 

Knight looked back at the corridor behind him where he saw the Emperor. The Emperor nodded his head yes, then Knight turned back and faced his opponent.

 

("Understood, your Majesty." thought Knight.) "My turn." said Knight.

I draw. I play the spell "Pot of Greed", so I draw 2 cards. (Knight: Hand: 4) Now I remove from my hand the spell "Kingdom Rush!" and activate its effect, so I can activate as many "Kingdom" Continuous Spells and the Field Spell "Ultimate Kingdom!" from my Deck, so I activate "Kingdom - Castle", "Kingdom - Artillery", "Kingdom - Guards", and "Kingdom - City". And also the Field Spell "Ultimate Kingdom!" Now I activate the effect of "Kingdom - City", once per turn, I can add 1 "Kingdom" card from my Deck to my hand, so I add "Kingdom - King"(LV7/EARTH/Warrior/Effect/ATK/2550 DEF/1650) to my hand. Now I remove from my hand the spell "Profits of the Kingdom" and activate its effect which allows me to draw cards from my Deck equal to the number of "Kingdom" cards I control, so I draw 6 cards. (Knight: Hand: 9) Now I summon another "Kingdom - Mounted Knight"(LV4/EARTH/Warrior/Effect/ATK/1600 DEF/1200) Now I activate his effect, so by paying 1500 LP (Knight: LP 4000) So I can Special Summon "Kingdom - King"(LV7/EARTH/Warrior/Effect/ATK/2550 DEF/1650) Now I play another "Double Summon", so I can summon "Kingdom - Court Jester"(LV1/EARTH/Warrior/Tuner/ATK/300 DEF/300) Now I activate the effect of "Ultimate Kingdom!", when its activated, I can Special Summon "Hidden Archfiend in the Kingdom"(LV8/EARTH/Fiend/Effect/ATK/3900 DEF/3500) Now I activate the effects of "Kingdom - Artillery", once per turn, I can inflict damage to my opponent equal to the combined amount of ATK of every "Kingdom" I control, so you take a total of 10050 points of damage! END THIS!! (Caleb says: NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!)

 

Nick watched as Caleb was taking a blast of defeat.

 

"CALEB!" yelled Nick as he ran to the arena.

"And the winner is... the Kingdom - Royal Knight!" yelled the announcer.

 

Caleb was knocked unconsious and Knight walked over to him holding what seems to be a sword.

 

"By order of his majesty, I shall take your last breath." said Knight as he was about to slash Caleb until Nick came just in time and blocked the attack.

 

"You lay one hand on one my family, I'll kill you where you stand!" yelled Nick with anger.

 

Knight had an angry, distained look his face.

 

"Is that a challenge or a promise?" said Knight. "You may be the savior of this realm, but when I look at you, I see nothing but an arrogant child who doesn't follow anyone but himself. I follow the Emperor and I swore on my life to protect him and and all members of the Royal Family."

 

"And I swore my life to protect this realm and everyone I care about!" yelled Nick. "Yet you call me arrogant? You don't care about anyone else except the Royal Family or anyone else who get hurt?"

 

"If that's what you think, I might be able to prove you wrong." said Knight.

 

"Bring it on." said Nick.

 

"H-H-Hold on." said the announcer. "Though the first round of the tournament is over, we still don't have enough participants to move on, so we'll have to have a bracket match, which means we have to randomly choose 2 participants that lost and those 2 will duel to earn a spot in the second round, so let's go to the board."

 

The virtual board showed the people who lost and rapidly switched through people's pictures until it stopped on 2 people.

 

"And it looks like it's Hunter from Team Mystery and the Kingdom - Swordsman from Team Ultimate Kingdom." said the annonucer as both of them came out to the arena. "Are you duelists ready?"

 

"I'll make this quick." said Hunter.

 

"I won't lose this time!" yelled the swordsman.

 

"Okay!" yelled the announcer. "Duel... Start!"

I draw. (Hunter thinks: Like I said, I'll make this quick.) I play the Continuous Spell "Cycle of Life". Next, I set 1 monster and 1 card face-down and end my turn.

 

("I won't lose." thought the Swordsman. "I won't be humiliated again. I must prove myself to his majesty!") "My turn!" yelled the Swordsman.

(4800 + 3200 = 8000 ATK) Now "Cycle of Life" activates, when a monster is tributed by the effects of a "Predatory Beast" I can Special Summon a "Beast Prey" monster from my Deck and since 3 monsters were tributed, I can Special Summon 3 "Beast Prey" monsters, so I Special Summon 3 "Beast Prey Junco"(s)(LV2/EARTH/Winged-Beast/Effect/ATK/0 DEF/0) Now I also play a "Double Summon", so I can summon "Predatory Beast Archfiend"(LV4/EARTH/Fiend/Effect/ATK/1800 DEF/1200) Now I activate its effect, so I tribute all 3 of my "Beast Prey Junco"(s) and their levels equal 6, so "Archfiend" gains 1200 ATK. The Emperor turned walked back to the rest area without saying a word.

 

"That concludes our first round of the tournament." said the announcer. "Be here for tomorrow match-ups for the second round and we promise you'll have a great time here. See you next time."

 

Cards of the Day: "Predatory Beast Rex" & "Kingdom - Royal Knight"

The first round of the Duelist Rising Tournament comes to a close and things are gonna get a lot tougher in the second round. "Next Chapter"! Nick sets up rooms for Team Mystery. Then at night Nick heard a voice calling him and he took the Expressroid to the Molten Destruction dimension, where he saw Zane. And he knew they had some unfinished business. Will Nick free Zane from E.N. control, or will Zane finally destroy Nick and feel great about himself? Find out next time. Until then, KEEP ON DUELING!!

[spoiler=Chapter 53]Everyone left the arena and went on home. As so did Nick and everyone else.

 

"So where are you guys staying?" asked Nick.

 

"Well, when we got this dimension we didn't think we'd stay for long, so we're kind of homeless." said Kim.

 

"Don't worry." said Nick. "I might be able to put up some extra rooms at the hotel my team is staying in. Of course, I'll have to pay for it again."

 

"Thanks." said Kim happily.

 

Nick then turned and saw Team Ultimate Kingdom walking away from the arena. He saw Knight give him that angry, distained look again. When Kim saw them she was concerned and started thinking back to what happened to her friend.

 

"(whimpering)" said Kim.

 

Nick looked at Kim and asked her questions on the walk back to the hotel.

 

"So, Kim." said Nick. "You said your friend was taken over by an organization that runs those "Kingdom" cards right?"

 

"Yes." said Kim.

 

"Tell me, what was your friend like before all that happened?" asked Nick.

 

"He was brave, had a strong heart, and he would never let any of his friends get hurt." said Kim. "You kind of remind me of him, except he uses a Time Deck. But he always has 1 card that helps him win a Duel. It was "United we Stand"."

 

("A Time Deck with "United we Stand" in it." thought Nick. "So it is him.") "I see." said Nick. "You're John's friends aren't you?"

 

Kim and the others were surprised to hear Nick know his name.

 

"How-How do you know him?" asked Kim.

 

"While I was traveling through the Duel Monster Realm on my own, I came across him dueling people in New Domino." said Nick. "I helped him out of that situation and then he told me where he came from and the person who sent him here. So we went looking for him, found him, dueled him and won. Then a portal appeared showing him his home, so we said good-bye and hoped we would meet again."

 

"Now that you mention it, me and John ran into some shady-looking person outside the school." said Chris A. "He casted some portal under John and John fell in with him following. After a few days, he came back."

 

"Thanks for helping him." said Kim. "It's nice to see someone else who knows about him."

 

Soon after they arrived at the hotel and Nick booked them a few rooms. Then Nick gave everyone a tour of what the rooms look like.

 

"Welcome to Casa de' Duelist." said Nick jokingly.

 

The rooms were more like apartments than any other hotel room.

 

"There's the bed, the 69-inch plasma screen with a built in game station along with wireless controllers." said Nick. "A tiny kitchen with a microwave that can fix you any meal from this cookbook. You see the dish you want, look at the code at the bottom, punch in the code on the microwave and when the microwave is done, there's your meal on a steaming-hot plate. Here's the television remote so you can change the channels, but you can type in the room number of any room in this hotel. When you do that, the Television screen can show you what's going on in the room. You can also talk to another person in their room. It's kind of like a video phone. Here's the bathroom. There are 3 showers in case you have roomates and three stalls for when you have to go badly. I guess that's it. Alright head on back to your rooms and get some rest for tomorrow."

 

Everyone went to their rooms, took showers and went to bed. Later that night, Nick heard a distant voice calling him. And to Nick, it sounded familiar.

 

"It's Payback time, Cunningham." said the voice. "If you're man enough to face me, come to Molten Destruction where you'll lose everything!"

 

Nick turned to the window and looked at the moon and remembered what happened and thought to himself.

 

("Zane." thought Nick. "Get ready. I'm coming for you.")

 

Nick got changed, put his shoes on, got his Duel Disk and walked out of his room to the station until...

 

"Where are you going?" asked Rein when he came out of his room.

 

"Nowhere." said Nick lying.

 

"You're going to duel Zane, aren't you?" asked Rein. "If you are, then I'm coming too."

 

"No, Rein." said Nick. "He wants me and only me."

 

"I don't think you have a choice." said Rein.

 

Then Chris A. and Cody came out of their rooms.

 

"I couldn't help but overhear you guys." said Cody. "But if Rein is going, then I'm coming too."

 

"I may not know what's going on, but I can't pass up a good Duel." said Chris A. "I'm going too."

 

"We're all going, whether you like it or not." said Rein.

 

Nick couldn't say anything for a second, then he smiled and said...

 

"Alright. Guess I'm stuck with you guys." said Nick. "Let's go."

 

Nick, Cody, Rein and Chris A. ran to the station. Meanwhile where Team Dark Signer is...

 

"My, my." said Wiraq. "Where is young Cunningham heading off to at this hour?"

 

"He's going to Duel this kid called Zane." said D.C.Q. "Zane is a boy who has a grudge against Nick. Not only that, he has obtained the power of Exodia and Exodia Necross. Believing that's the key to defeating Nick."

 

"So this Zane character is pretty special." said Wiraq. "Makayla, be a good girl and follow Cunningham and his friends."

 

"Why do I have to do it?" asked Makayla.

 

"Since your sister is rather close to Cunningham, it would make more sense for you to do just the same." said Wiraq. "Have you forgotten what he said to you yesterday?"

 

Makayla's eyes widened as she flashbacked to yesterday.

 

Flashback:

 

("I'm glad you're alive because I don't know how I could forgive myself if something happened to you while your sister is worrying about you!" said Nick.)

 

The story continues:

 

"As a bonus, you get to experience Exodia's power first-hand." said Wiraq. "And maybe you could obtain Exodia's power."

 

Makayla left the room without saying a word and headed after Nick and the guys.

 

("That's my girl." thought Wiraq.)

 

Nick and the gang soon arrived at the station. Nick inserted the "Molten Destruction" Field Spell into the destination slot and got on the Expressroid without knowing that Makayla is following them. They soon arrived at Molten Destruction and got off the Expressroid, without noticing Makayla getting off with them, then they searched for Zane.

 

"Where are we supposed to look for him?" asked Chris A. "There's nothing here but molten rock and volcanos and..."

 

Suddenly, Exodia emerged from out of the ground right in front of them with Zane and his Duel Disk on Exodia's shoulder.

 

"And Exodia." said Chris A. all surprised.

 

"I thought I told you come alone, Cunningham." said Zane.

 

"My friends are with me no matter what, Zane. So deal with it." said Nick.

 

"Fine." said Zane. "They'll watch you get destroyed by the power of Exodia. None can overcome his great strength. Prepare to lose, Cunningham!"

 

"Bring it, Zane!" yelled Nick.

I activate the spell "Double Summon", so I can summon twice this turn, so I summon "Chaos Spirit Necron"(LV4/DARK/Spirit/Effect/ATK/1000 DEF/1000) Now I activate his effect, when he's successfully Normal Summoned, I can Special Summon 2 "Dark Metal Reflect Slime Token"(s)(LV4/DARK/Fiend/Token/ATK/1000 DEF/1000) And thanks to the effect of "Double Summon", I can summon again, so by tributing my first "Dark Metal Reflect Slime Token", I summon "Chaos Spirit Darklight"(LV5/DARK/Spirit/Effect/ATK/1600 DEF/1500) Now "Chaos Spirit Necron" and "Chaos Spirit Darklight" use "Spirit Cross Fusion" to summon "Chaos Spirit Eclipse"(LV6/DARK/Spirit/Fusion/Effect/ATK/2100 DEF/1500) Now I activate his effect, when he's succesfully summoned, I can select 1 or more monsters on my field and 1 LV5 or higher monster from my Deck, then I can Normal Summon again, so I choose "Chaos Spirit Neon"(LV6/LIGHT/Spirit/Effect/ATK/2100 DEF/900) from my Deck and by tributing my last "Dark Metal Reflect Slime Token", I can summon "Chaos Spirit Neon"(LV6/LIGHT/Spirit/Effect/ATK/2100 DEF/900) Now I activate his effect, when he's successfully Normal Summoned, I can select 1 "Chaos Spirit" monster from my Deck and 1 from my hand and send them to the Graveyard, then his ATK increase by the combined ATK of the discarded monsters until the End Phase, so I send "Chaos Spirit Lava"(LV4/FIRE/Spirit/Effect/ATK/1600 DEF/1000) from my hand and "Chaos Spirit Searon"(LV3/FIRE/Spirit/Effect/ATK/600 DEF/800) from my Deck to the Graveyard. (Zane: Hand: 5) (smiles maniacally) I play the spell "Graceful Charity", so I draw 3 cards (Zane: Hand: 7) and discard 2. (Zane: Hand: 5) Now I play the spell that started the chaos! (Zane: Hand: 2) Now I activate his second effect, once per turn, by discarding 1 card from my hand, I can inflict 1000 points of damage to you. (Nick: LP 6500) Now "Exodius, the Ultimate Forbidden Lord" destroy his "Chaos Spirit Landcaron". Now by discarding a "Forbidden One" card from my hand, he can attack and gains 1000 ATK for each Normal Monster in my Graveyard, so that's 3 and he gains 3000 ATK. "So how are you gonna get out of this one, Cunningham?!" yelled Zane.

Zane dropped to his knees in despair and anger, then E.N.'s darkness was flowing out of him and the Exodia pieces and cards flew over to Nick and put in Nick's hand.

 

"I... I.... I lost... with Exodia." said Zane in despair. "All of that power, the most powerful being known to Duel Monsters, DEFEATED!! And what's worse, defeated by you!"

 

"Duel Monsters isn't just about power, Zane." said Nick. "It's about having fun and having a reason to fight."

 

Zane's body then started glowing. Nick knew his spirit was going to be sealed inside his most precious card. Zane yelled in anger as he faded away.

 

"CUNNINGHAAAAAAAAAAAAMMM!!!" yelled Zane as he faded.

 

Zane particles of light were drawn inside the "Warrior of the Forbidden One" card.

 

"Zane." said Nick feeling sorry.

 

Chris A. was shocked and surprised about what he saw.

 

"WHOA!!" yelled Chris A. "What just happened?!"

 

"Every dimension in the Duel Monster Realm is shrouded by darkness." said Nick. "If anyone outside of Neo Domino City loses a Duel, their soul is sealed inside their most precious card."

 

"How do you un-seal them?" asked Chris A.

 

"Defeat the person that sealed him." said Nick.

 

Just then, a dark aura bursted out of the "Exodia Necross" card laying on the ground and out came "Exodia Necross".

 

"You!" said Nick.

 

"It looks like I was wrong to put my faith in that fool." said E.N. "No matter. I've found a better puppet. And since I know he won't cooperate with me, I'll just have to take him by force!"

 

Exodia Necross charged directly at Nick.

 

"You're mine, Boy of Chaos!" yelled E.N. as he charged in.

 

Nick braced for impact until...

 

"Go, Aslla Piscu!" yelled Makayla as she called forth her Immortal.

 

Aslla Piscu flew in front of Exodia Necross and Makayla walked in front of Nick and the guys.

 

"You're... helping me?" asked Nick.

 

"No one is allowed to destroy you except me, got it?!" said Makayla sternly.

 

"Whatever." said Nick.

 

Exodia Necross looked at Aslla Piscu and look frightened.

 

"An...an Earthbound Immortal?!" said E.N. all frightened. "Please! Spare me! Please!"

 

"I don't take orders... from weaklings." said Makayla as she signaled her beast to attack.

 

Aslla Piscu struck Exodia Necross through the chest and he was quickly turned into his spirit card.

 

"Now the power of Exodia shall..." said Makayla until...

 

"Be sealed again and remained sealed." said a voice.

 

Then a card shined from the Deck Nick was holding and out came Exodia's Keeper.

 

"I'll take that." said E.K. as he took E.N.'s spirit card from Makayla. "I'll see to it he'll never get out again. Thank you and farewell, my friends."

 

E.K. transported back to home and also gave Nick "Warrior of the Forbidden One" because Zane was still sealed in it, then tension stirs between Nick and Makayla.

 

"(growls softly)" growled Nick.

 

"(growls softly)" growled Makayla.

 

"(sighs) Guess we gotta take you back as well." said Nick all disappointed.

 

"This doesn't change a thing, got it?!" said Makayla.

 

"Yeah, yeah. Let's just go already. I'm tired enough as it is." said Nick all annoyed.

 

They waited until the Expressroid finally arrived and Nick and the gang, along with Makayla, boarded the Expressroid and went back to Neo Domino City. They arrived in town, went to where they're staying and parted ways.

 

"Don't forget!" yelled Makayla. "I'll see to it that your soul is sealed by my hand."

 

"We'll see." said Nick as him and Rein, Cody, and Chris A. went into the hotel and back to their floor.

 

"Tonight has been weird, huh?" asked Cody.

 

"Yeah." said Nick. "But at least that's over with. (yawns) Time for bed."

 

Nick, Rein, Cody, and Chris A. went into their rooms to go to sleep until the alarms on their clock went off.

 

"Time to get up." said Nick as him and the others walked out of their rooms annoyed.

 

"(groans angrily)" groaned everyone.

Nick's fight with Zane is now over. For now anyway. And what's more interesting, I think the Dark Signer Makayla has a soft side she doesn't even know about. "Next Chapter"! Nick and the others has a lot of free time before the second round starts. Nick found out the second round is only turbo Duels, so Nick took Rein, Cody, Chris A., Mystery, and Hunter to get custom built Duel Runners made by his friend. When they got back, they saw something wrong with Akiza when her eyes turned Black and she had a Nazca Line glowing on her back. She was transformed into a Dark Signer and Yusei sought to break her free in a Duel. Will Yusei break the Dark Signers control, or will Akiza be their puppet forever? Find out next time. Here's Chapter 54 everyone. Enjoy.

 

[spoiler=Chapter 54]Everyone woke up this morning as fresh as the morning air, except for Nick and them who stayed up most of the night. Just then, a messenger for the tournament arrived in front of Nick, telling him what kind of Duels they'll be doing for the second round.

 

"Alright, people. Listen up." said Nick. "I just got the message about the second round. Every duel will be Turbo Duels today."

 

Everyone was excited except for Team Mystery, Rachel, Cody, and Rein.

 

"Okay. I know you guys are bummed about not having Duel Runners of your own." said Nick. "But don't worry. I have a friend of mine who can make you Duel Runners in an amount of a few minutes."

 

"He must be crazy about technology." said Chris A. "Where is he anyway?"

 

"At the town's Cyber Junkyard." said Nick. "Anyone who wants to come, follow me. Besides, the second round doesn't start 'till 12:00 Noon."

 

Mystery, Hunter, Chris A., Cody, and Rein went with Nick and arrived at the Cyber Junkyard, where they met a monster that is about their size and height, but has long metal claws, long metal toes claws, basically his whole body is metal and his head looks like Cyber Laser Dragon's head.

 

"Yo, Claw." said Nick. "Listen, I need you to make a few Duel Runners, like 6 Duel Runners."

 

"That's Child's Play." said Claw. "Do you want them based on your favorite card?"

 

"Yeah!" said everyone.

 

So in no time at all, Claw finished the Duel Runners. Chris's Duel Runner was white and looked like the head of Rainbow Dragon and his Duel Disk fits perfectly. Hunter's looked like the body of Predatory Beast Rex. Mystery's Duel Runner looked like Alien Hunter. Rein's Duel Runner is white with black streams on each side. Cody's Duel Runner is gray with red and blue streams on each side.

 

"These are awesome!" yelled Cody.

 

"No doubt." said Chris A.

 

"Hard to believe this took a few minutes." said Hunter.

 

"Alright. Let's head back." said Nick as him and everyone hopped on their Duel Runners and rode back to the hotel.

 

Meanwhile where the Dark Signers are...

 

"Hmm." said Wiraq as he looked at Makayla.

 

"Yes, Master Wiraq?" asked Makayla.

 

"There's a possibility that you might go up against the Signer's own Black Rose." said Wiraq. "Your Dark Thorn cards won't stand a chance if she summons her Black Rose Dragon. You need cards that rival her Deck, or better yet, relative to her Deck."

 

"What do you mean, Master?" asked Makayla.

 

"There is this other Earthbound Immortal that was sealed in the battle between our groups 5,000 years ago." said Wiraq. "Along with its own army of Plant-type monsters. I've been meaning to unseal its seal and it and its army to you."

 

"You think I'm able to wield 2 Earthbound Immortals?" asked Makayla.

 

"Yes, but that's where the problem sets in." said Wiraq. "That seal can only be broken if a Duelist posesses a monster in their Deck that coresponds with the Dark Synchro Monster sealed within it. Unfortunately, your Dark Synchro Monster doesn't fit its description, but Akiza Izinski's Black Rose Dragon does."

 

Wiraq stretched out his arm and out came crawling a spider with a marking on its back.

 

"This spider has the mark of that Earthbound Immortal on its back." said Wiraq. "All we need to do is plant this spider on Akiza, then it'll seek out the power of Black Rose Dragon, which will then fuse with it, turning Akiza into a full-fleged Dark Signer which will unseal the Earthbound Immortal. But if she fails in a Duel, the power will be passed on to the next person worthy of wielding it. And that person will be you, Makayla."

 

"But how are we going to plant it on her?" asked Makayla.

 

"You're going to love this." said Wiraq. "We're going to toy with Nick's feelings for his family again. D.C.Q. will act as Nick's little cousin that she's controlling, she'll use his voice, walk up to them, pretend to faint on Akiza and the spider will work its way down Akiza's back to her Deck, then the marks effect shall take place, turning her into one of us. Now then, let's put our plan into action. You may go, D.C.Q."

 

"As you wish, Wiraq." said D. Peter.

 

Meanwhile, Leo and Link are practicing their strategies by Dueling each other and it's about to come to a close.

Field: "Reverse-Synchronized Realm"

 

"Nice try, Leo." said Link. "But I have this Duel won."

I draw. (Leo thinks: Yes! Alright let's see. I have "Morphtronic Magnen"(LV3/EARTH/Thunder/Effect/ATK/800 DEF/800) on the field with 1 face-down and I have "Gadget Box" in play. And Link has "Synchronized Leviathan"(LV9/WATER/Sea Serpent/Synchro/Tuner/ATK/2700 DEF/2700), the Continuous Trap "Synchronized Guard" and the Continuous Spell "Synchronized Gate". In that case...) I activate my face-down "Double Summon", so I can summon twice this turn, so I summon my 2 "Morphtronic Datatron"(s)(LV3/FIRE/Pyro/Effect/ATK/1200 DEF/600) Now I activate the first one's effect, if he's in Attack Position, by tributing "Morphtronic Magnen", I can inflict 600 points of damage to you. (Link: LP 600) Now I activate the second one's effect by tributing the first one. (Link says: Not again.)

 

Leo: LP 700/ Winner

Link: LP: 0/ Defeated

 

"Yes! I won!" yelled Leo. "That makes 3 wins in a row!"

 

"This deck never wins." said Link.

 

Meanwhile the girls are talking about private stuff while watching Leo and Link duel.

 

"So how about we talk about the very special guy we like?" said Alice.

 

"We already know who you and Rachel like." said Kim.

 

"Is it that obvious?" asked Rachel.

 

"I did see you guys kiss." said Kim.

 

Alice was surprised to hear that.

 

"You What?!" said Alice all shocked and surprised.

 

"Wow, Rachel." said Luna. "I knew you liked Nick, but I didn't know that much."

 

"We're just friends." said Rachel. "And I tend to keep it that way no matter how much I like him."

 

Nick walked up to the entrance right behind Alice when she said...

 

"There goes my chance with him." said Alice.

 

"Chance with who?" asked Nick.

 

Alice jumped up with a surprised look on her face.

 

"Aah!" screamed Alice. "Nick don't do that!"

 

"Sorry, sorry." said Nick. "Why is your face red?"

 

Nick puts his hand on Alice's forehead. Alice's face was completely red.

 

"You don't seem to have a fever." said Nick as he took his hand off of her head. "I guess you're all right."

 

Nick went to talk with Leo while Alice stared with embarassement, then Akiza came out and saw someone coming their way who looked like someone from Team Dark Signer.

 

"Hey, Nick." said Akiza. "Isn't he from the Dark Signers?"

 

Nick looked back and quickly recognized the person.

 

"That's..." said Nick.

 

"Nick, help me." said Peter weakly.

 

"Peter!" yelled Nick.

 

Nick was going to run to him until he was stopped by Rein.

 

"Hold on, Nick." said Rein. "We're still not sure if he's himself."

 

"But..." said Nick.

 

"I broke free from her control." said Peter weakly. "I barely escaped them, but they overpowered me, but I was able to get out of there and come and warn you abou-- (groans with pain)"

 

Peter fainted on Akiza chest, then when she's helping him up, D.C.Q. takes over and places the spider on Akiza's shoulder and then it starts to crawl down her back straight to her Deck and then found Black Rose Dragon and the mark started to take effect.

 

"(grunts with pain)" grunted Akiza. "My head."

 

"Akiza. Are you alright?" asked Nick.

 

"Heh, heh, heh." laughed Peter.

 

"Peter?" asked Nick.

 

"Sorry. Peter's not in right now." said D. Peter. "Ha, ha, ha!"

 

"D.C.Q.!" said Nick. "What did you do to Akiza?!"

 

"Your friend here is about to unleash one of the forgotten Immortals." said D. Peter as she transported out of there. "Bye now."

 

"Wait!" yelled Nick. "What did she mean?"

 

"(screaming with pain)!" screamed Akiza.

 

Then a purple aura was flowing through her body, then the spider geoglyph appeared glowing on her back, but then it changed shape and formed into what looks like a tree geoglyph. Her eyes then turned solid black and her Deck had a black aura flowing out of it. Thus her transformation was complete.

 

"Akiza?" asked Luna. "Are you alright?"

 

"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!" laughed Akiza in a distorted voice. "I feel powerful! I can't wait to try out my new powers. And I know just the person to try them out on. Duel me, Nick!"

 

"No!" yelled Yusei. "I'll be your opponent!"

 

"Yusei." said Nick.

 

"Akiza, you're being possessed by one the Earthbound Immortals and if I have to risk my life to save you, I'll do it." said Yusei.

 

"Fine!" said Akiza in a distorted voice. "I've been wanting a rematch with you anyway. Don't hold back, Yusei!"

 

Akiza and Yusei readied their Duel Disks and Akiza summoned up her Earthbound Immortals mark, which trapped everyone and Kim seemed frightened when she saw the shape of the mark.

 

("That mark." thought Kim. "It can't be.")

 

"Ready?" said Akiza in a distorted voice.

 

"Ready." said Yusei.

Now I activate the spell "Double Summon", so I can summon again, so I summon "Poison Plant - Monkshood"(LV3/DARK/Plant/Effect/ATK/0 DEF/1850) in Defense Position thanks to its effect. Now its other effect activates, so I can add the spell "Plant Poison - Aconitine" from my Deck to my hand. Now I activate the spells "Plant Poison - Coniine" and "Plant Poison - Aconitine". Kim fell to her knees, quaking in terror. Nick tried to help her up.

 

"Kim, you know this Earthbound Immortal?" asked Nick. "How?"

 

"Just like you, I was also taken over by the darkness." said Kim. "Ppicuaru was the source of it all. I thought I was rid of it, but now my past has come back to haunt me."

 

("She's really shaken up about that thing." thought Nick. "Yusei, you have to win!")

 

Nick then saw Kim's aura.

 

("Her aura still has the darkness in her, but she doesn't seem controlled at all." thought Nick.) "But Kim, haven't you controlled the darkness inside you?" asked Nick.

 

("That's right." thought Kim. "I forgot I still have the power of darkness inside me and I control it perfectly. I shouldn't be afraid of darkness, I should confront darkness.")

The mark of the Tree Earthbound Immortal dispersed around everyone and Akiza was transformed back to her original self, then she fainted, but Yusei caught her. Then the dark aura flowed away from her Deck and the spider crawled out and dispersed into dust.

 

"Yu..sei." said Akiza weakly.

 

"Akiza, don't speak." said Yusei. "Just rest."

 

Then Wiraq and Makayla transported on to the scene.

 

"Well done, Yusei." said Wiraq.

 

"Nice try, but your plan to recruit Akiza failed." said Yusei.

 

"Hehe, heh, heh." laughed Wiraq. "We never intended to recruit her."

 

Yusei eyes widened when he heard him.

 

"What?!" said Yusei. "Then why..."

 

"We only used her to unlock the Immortal you defeated." said Wiraq. "And now its power shall be transfered... to Makayla."

 

"What?!" said Nick.

 

Makayla raised her hand in the air and the dark aura from Akiza's Deck formed the Deck she used in the Duel in her hand.

 

"Finally." said Makayla. "My new powers."

 

"So that's what you've sunk to, Makayla?!" yelled Nick.

 

"Power is the only way I have to defeating you." said Makayla. "The strong will always vanquish the weak. That's the way of survival."

 

"Well said, Makayla." said Wiraq. "We'll see you in the second round, Boy of Chaos."

 

They transpoted away from the area. Leaving Yusei to doubt himself.

 

"I thought I was weakining their ranks, but instead I made them stronger." said Yusei.

 

"Don't worry, Yusei." said Nick. "We'll pay them back. One way or another."

 

Card of the Day: "Earthbound Immortal Ppicuaru"

Yusei saved Akiza, but now 1 of the Dark Signers has control of 2 Earthbound Immortals, meaning 1 more Immortal for the destruction of Neo Domino. "Next Chapter"! The Second Round is about to start and the first Turbo Duel match-up is Nick vs. Chris A. Though Chris doesn't have any past experiences with Turbo Duels he's managed to do just fine in the Duel, but that's a bigger problem for Nick. Will Nick's Chaos Spirits take home victory, or will Chris A.'s Crystal Beast shine to to the Winner's circle? Find out next time. Until then, KEEP ON DUELING!!

It will be pretty tough for Chris to Turbo Duel since he can't use Crystal Abundance without taking 2000 damage (if he used Speed Spell - Speed Gravity, he couldn't use Abundance at all but could use the other normal Crystal spells rather safely).

 

Mystery will be alright with just the Aliens and Traps, even though the spells, mainly Code A Ancient Ruins, "A" Cell Incubator, and Mysterious Triangle, play an important part in the strategy.

 

Kim's Turbo problems aren't important since she isn't in the tournament anymore.

 

Hunter should be okay with just his monsters and traps.

 

Destiny also lost, so whether her deck works under Speed World or Speed World 2 doesn't matter.

 

This should be interesting.

[spoiler=Chapter 55]Everyone got ready for the second round of the tournament. Yusei is still hung up about Akiza, but is going to cope with it. Nick gave Rachel her Duel Runner. It was yellow-green with blue streams on each side. (quote: Truth is, I got color blind when I thought of it.) Then they got on their Duel Runners and rode to the Kaibadome. (quote: In style.)

 

"Alright!" yelled the announcer. "Here we are back for the Second Round. I hope you slept well, because we're gonna see some high horsepower Turbo Dueling! The match-ups will be chosen at random on this virtual board."

 

Faces of people who won the first round of the tournament were randomly showing up on the board, then they stopped and showed which person Duels which.

 

"And it looks like the first is against Nick Cunningham from Team Satellite and Chris Anderson from Team Mystery." said the announcer. "We're gonna be in for a blow-out Duel, folks. And we'll be having it on the new Turbo Dueling circuit outside of the Kaibadome."

 

Everyone cheered and roared for the upcoming Duel. Everyone participating in the Second Round went to their garages and prepped their runners for their matches.

 

"This is a first for me." said Chris A. "I mean I've seen people Turbo Duel before, but I've never tried it."

 

"You'll do great, Chris. I know it." said Kim. "But if you're going against Nick, you need to be on your guard."

 

"Believe me, I know." said Chris A. "And it's a good thing I got these Speed Spells before my match.

 

"Alright, Turbo Duelists!" yelled the announcer "Please proceed to the course outside the stadium."

 

"Good luck out there." said Nick.

 

"You too." said Chris A.

 

They both got on their Duel Runners and rode to the starting line. The course is set on Neo Domino City's Turbo Dueling Highway.

 

"Are you Duelists ready?" asked the announcer.

 

"Ready." said Nick.

 

"Ready." said Chris A.

 

"Alright!" yelled the announcer. "For this special Turbo Duel part of the tournament, we're using both "Speed World" and "Speed World 2" in all of our Turbo Duels, but we've set limit of Speed Counters on your Duel Runners to 12 and nothing higher."

 

"Sweet." said Nick.

 

"Now let's get ready to Turbo Duel!" yelled the announcer.

Rein rode out to the track with his Duel Runner. The Emperor rode out with his Duel Runner too. His Duel Runner resembled a silver metal stallion with the Team Ultimate Kingdom symbol on the head.

 

"Are you Duelists ready?" asked the announcer.

 

"Duel Mode! Auto-Pilot Standby" said the Duel Runners.

 

"Ready." said Rein.

 

"Ready." said the Emperor.

 

"Alright!" yelled the announcer. "3, 2, 1, Turbo Duel!"

 

"Let's Ride!" yelled Rein and the Emperor.

Nick and Chris' great beasts have clashed against each other, but Nick's monster proved to be victorious. "Next Chapter"! It's Rein versus the Kingdom - Emperor.
