Guest Star
Back when Chaos Decks were useable in Advanced Format, why didn't people just run Oppression Decks to stop them? Wouldn't it be able to stop Chaos Decks just like it stops DaD Decks and LS Decks?
Megaworm
Because Chaos decks NUKED the field, removed things from play without cost or restraint, and immediately destroyed the monsters before the opponent could oppress anything. If you think 1 Chaos Emperor Dragon in a traditional format is bad, think about 3. You think you are doing good, CED destroys everything. Then he uses the Light and Dark monsters he sent to the graveyard to summon Black Luster Soldier Envoy to rip away at your life points.
CrabHelmet
Consider the other cards that were legal at the time. Removing Royal Oppression was not a challenge by any means. Not to mention that Chaos was just that fast and powerful.
