The Guide on How to be a Successful YCMer, in Many Different Ways

Okay, I expect that if you're reading this, this is probably your first/second time in the forums. And, in order for the second half of this to be any help, you must have some graphic knowledge, ie. how to invert.
Hello. I am writing this guide to you so YCM will be easier for you. There will be 5 chapters.

To name yourself:

*Rule 1: NEVER MAKE YOUR YCM NAME YOUR REAL NAME.

Rule 2: Make it something others will like.

Rule 3: Do not name yourself anything from "Best YCMer" to "Yugioh

Card Maker's Best" or anything like that.

*Exception: like my name, narutoloverjoey, Joey is my name. But, my YCM name isn't "Joey." It's NARUTOLOVERjoey. Something I like. Naruto.

For an Avatar, Google search something you like and upload it to YCM.

That's the prologue. Now go read the rest!

1. Create just a single card - maybe an effect card with a normal effect, awesome pic, and a mid-range (1500-2000) ATK and DEF points. Get people on your side. Make 'em like ya.

2. Then, if people respond to the title, "New Card, PLZ rate (title of card)", then create a new thread with the title, "New (set name) Set, Rate! Maybe a few people will like it, some will rate it bably, just shove 'em off. It builds your self esteem as a YCM memeber.

3. After a few good cards or sets, give yourself a wicked avatar. A skull, crossbones, whatever you like and love.

4. Once people begin to talk to you more often, give yourself what you think is the best signature. (This is done through User CP-->Edit Signature.) Add something like this,
Hi. Again.

but with real things, like "My Signature Card" and in the dropdown post your card. (If you don't know how to post a card, open 2 tabs, one YCM and the other tinypic.com and upload your saved card onto tinypic, and get the second code, it says a bunch of words and meaningless numbers, then copy and paste into a post.) Make it good.

Here is the code for the drop down: (when you use it, remove the & signs.) [s&poil&er=Insert Title Here]Content here[/s&poiler]

Also, do a "My Best Set" dropwdown, it works great . . . .

5. Go rate someone's card on their thread. Make it a good rate, but you also must be fair to the card, give it a any number/10. This provides a way for people to know you better.

6. Now you should be at 25 posts by now - making you a 2-star member.

That's good for you, but you must keep working.
*optional* 7. MAKE A SHOP, and make it good. Find something you can do to other's cards that noone else can do. Make it a card effect-for-points shop. Make the prices kind of cheap, or noone will want to buy.

*optional* 8. If you done good so far, you should have some reps. Now its time for you to create a contest. Make it a unique one - maybe even a contest where you win free Holos from your shop or whatnot. Just have fun.

9. Now, continue to update everything, and get to that 150 posts for 3 stars! Then, you can sit back, make cards, and chat with your new friends you made YCMing!

1. First, the best sociality is friends, right? WRONG. YCM is about discussion. Start a discussion thread in the general section. Talk about Dragon Ball Z or Naruto or anything you want, it's general. Or, you can just talk about YUGIOH.

2. As you are waiting for a reply, make a club. Or organization. Whatever the fudge the difference is, I don't really know. But, make one. Give it a title noone has ever heard. Samba Mai Mamba. People's reaction: "WTF is this? I gotta find out." Bam. They just clicked on your club. They find it's about Naruto. "I love Naruto! I'm joining!" See?

3. Anyway, don't really name your club "Samba Mai Mamba". I called it. Jk, but try to come up with something fun, cool, and suits YOU. Or just call it whatever the heck it's about, I don't really care. Now, maybe you can give people BENEFIT for joining. "When you join, get 1 free item from my shop." By this you get view on your club, then on your shop, and then therefore get view on your club again.

4. Now that people are posting, reply to as many as you can. KEEP UP THE DISCUSSION. After a shop post, club post, realistic card post, general discussion, maybe finsished set, it is time for two more main thread types.

5. On to . . . RPing. You don't even have to make an RP. Join one, trust me, they're fun. This way you might get extra clicks on your sig, and makes you slightly more popular.

*optional* 6. Now, make one. This is completely optional. Actually, making cards altogether is optional.
*optional* 7. Now, go either read a fan fic or make one! Hurry, some are fun to read, and you can reply saying if you like it, and maybe the writer will rep you or join your club or anything. If you make one, make sure it is actually good.

8. Give yourself a bio that people will understand you better because of it. Make personal info funny and the biography sort of, but make it about you overall. Just have fun.

9. Get yerself some friends! Add them by going into the User CP and clicking the link. Type in their name, add, viola. A friend.
Then you've opened the right chapter.

1. What can you do? Make pictures? Make your own TCG that nobody else can? Then post it!

2. After you have posted, support it in your sig.

3. Tell friends to tell friends to tell friends, and so on and so on.

4. Once some people join you in your quest of awesome graphic making, tell them that you are thinking of "selling" your awesome awesomeness.

5. See if anyone responds. You're never going to sell it, unless you really want to. This makes them suspenseful, and they keeping viewing your page to see if you have put it up for sale.

6. Wait and wait and wait . . .

I will continuously update this to get to 5 Chapters. Keep checking!!

so many flaws in so many ways... even though its good its not that good, i mean i was Successful but i did not to what you did. I did not make a card/set that every mostly every body liked. then i made a contest that was normal but different. no body joined! but then i went in to the RP section that's where i made my self Successful! i mean then we have the General discussion section, with the games, polls, and clubs. The we have the yugioh discussion section with FanFics, Role Plays, then you can discuss the TCG, as well as the Anime. There are many other places to make your self Successful other then posting a good card. that's just one way there are many others.

*to everybody that said I need rep first*

okay, first of all, this is one way to be successfull, its just covering all the basic parts of the forum. JUST THE BASICS. I did not want to cover EVERYTHING (freeman43). You do not have to follow this, its more of an opinion. And no, i do not need reps. I FAILED. NOBODY LIKED ME THAT MUCH. But maybe the person following this guide will, so yes, I can say that.

thaknk you infinity sparker, ill fix that.

1) Not everyone who comes here makes cards.

2) Not everyone makes a shop (but its an idea.)

I can see what you mean in the post above tho.

i think he acknowledges that. and i made that really clear...

thnx blood rose, and yes, i no not everyone makes cards, but thats what this is for, so i should probably change the title to "How to be a Successfull newbie Card Maker" or something. But it is still open to anyone.

I hope thats all cleared up now ( about the reps and all ).
