Man, I heard on the radio that there was a new ruling in California Supreme Court (America), if you are in danger and someone tries to help you, if you get hurt, you can sue the person who tried to help you.

 

This is how it came about....

1) Woman gets in car crash

2) Friend helps her out of car

3) Woman is now parapelegic (paralyzed waist down)

4) She sues her friend

5) She wins

 

In the past, people who helped others in situations like this were exempt from possibility of being sued by the "Good Samaritan" law. Now, only Medical Personel are exempt.

Reasoning is that, if that person is hurt, you must have been negligent in your help, and that person would have been better off had you not helped them, therefore, you are liable for their injuries.
