Von Csent
In the history of the TCG (a long history), many monsters have influenced the future of the game upon release. What are the most important in terms of changing how the game has evolved? I do not mean the most powerful ones. Just the ones that had the greatest impact on the game. I personally think that Jinzo was one of, if not the biggest, game-changing monster. He led the way for easy-to-summon beatsticks with powerful effects, and was one of the first reliable anti-trap cards. What about other opinions? CrabHelmet
Dark Armed Dragon. It took a diverse, medium-paced game and transformed it into the one-deck-beats-all lucksack OTK-fest we've been playing ever since.
Skarlet
Jinzo was, for a long time, but now Id say these have surpassed him 1) DAD2) Goyo
Von Csent
While I do not think that Goyo has had much impact compared to other cards, I have to agree that DAD has radically affected the game. Are there any older cards, maybe not used today, that helped influence the game (aside from the already-mentioned Jinzo)?
Skarlet
Goyo would be huge, but its neglected, trust me, its a 2800, relativly easy to summon card, that not only denies your opponent the chance to regain monsters through the varios GY summoning effects, but also supplies you with beatsticks, tribute fodder, ect... oO C H A O S Oo
DaD and Disk Commander (for the time it was limited and not banned.)Oh the pain I remember from Perfect Circle DaD >.<Now its all about the Tele-DaDs
CrabHelmet
Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning and Thousand-Eyes Restrict. The former hung around being awesome for two whole years with obvious consequences, and the latter was the reason that "Goat Control" existed. Skarlet
I belive the December list bans DAD, and Goyo anyway, the most influencial card left will be.... who knows, since Jinzo has been prety long out done

CrabHelmet
Oh, and how could we have not mentioned Cyber Dragon? That single card is largely the reason that defensive play has never really been a viable strategy.

Von Csent
Gorz is strong but he has not really influenced the game like DAD and Jinzo have (relative to their reigning periods).

GenzoTheHarpist
Stardust has changed the game, people can't play as recklessly with their removal anymore, and it makes battle a larger part of the game.

Lazer Yoshi
DAD. A reason to have Tons of DARK Monsters.Stardust is another. Chimertech OverDragon brought another Reason to buy lots of Cyber Dragon and rare Machines. Plus, it also was an OTK Deck, in which more OTK Decks followed.
