Bakura Vessal
anyone besides me ever notece the increasing amount of evil versions of cards? I mean, dark elf was alright, but dark horus?, dark grepher?, Dark armed Dragon? the list goes on and on Komin running out of idea's? discuss
Mr. Judgment Dragon
I suppose Konami is sorta running short on ideas. They also made Zombie versions of some cards as well. Majestic Mech Ohka was made as a Zombie in the form of Malevolent Mech - Goku En, Red-Eyes B. Dragon was made as a Zombie in the form of Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon, Paladin of White Dragon was remade as Paladin of the Cursed Dragon, Dark Ruler Ha Des was remade as Revived King Ha Des. There's probably more than this.
Von Csent
Crass Clown -> Clown ZombieCrawling Dragon -> Zombie DragonZanki -> Armored Zombie My favorite is Dark Mirror Force, where they actually used MS Paint to just invert the colors. Skuldur
They should rather be making different attribute versions of dark monster than the other way around
Guest PikaPerson01
DoomKaiser Dragon = Chthonian Emperor Dragon Airknight Parshath = Darknight Parshath But I digress. The point of this topic was to find out why Darks where so overpowered? I dunno, guess we all kinda like to be evil...
Exiro
Omg, you JUST noticed this?? 4 sets ago was the DARK-themed set which was followed up by the LIGHT-themed set, and they did this on purpose. It's true that there were DARK versions of cards before this, but there weren't too much of them and it was somehow original.
liamken
"your writeelemental heros - evil heros i mean cummon it`s like konami is being over run by some evil moron who loves darkness, badness and evil."
Azure
Well maybe this is true but you are forgeting that there have been more compeletly new releases than copyed releases.

Von Csent
Well maybe this is true but you are forgeting that there have been more compeletly new releases than copyed releases. Relativity is irrelevant. The number of dark remakes is increasing. Dark used to be my favorite attribute. Now it is a cliche, and I feel as though I am boring if it is my favorite. Just as Removed-From-Play used to be an effective end-all to cards, now it is a second graveyard. We need dark and RFP-recovery to take a break. CrabHelmet
Most of the modern Dark Counterparts were released all together in PTDN as a theme for that particular set. The others are Zombies, which makes sense if you think about it; at some point, that monster will die, and then somebody will resurrect it. The biggest exception is Dark General Freed, but that's excused by the fact that Freed is just that awesome.
iAmNateXero
To think, they never made a dark Gigagigo. I mean... the txt is there... but where's the attribute?
Aximil
To think' date=' they never made a dark Gigagigo. I mean... the txt is there... but where's the attribute?[/quote'] Yeah. I know. By the way, is everyone forgetting The Dark Creator? And, again, like I have stated countless times before, DARK decks are only top-tier because Konami went overboard with DARK and Zombie cards. Felix
There are alot of cards that are equivilant to another card just a bit fancier, the Toons being a prime example of this. Personally i think the "Dark" arche type is just for fun. However I do think they've gon a bit silly with them.

The only impact they've had is that some Tele-DAD builds run Spirit Reaper, which has been around for quite a while. Of course, there's always Zombie Carrier in the future, but up until now? ~ P O L A R I S ~
^Yup, just gotta hope they wouldn't use YCM's counterpart cards too. =P But seriously, they keep extending archetypes and making counterparts like DARKs, Zombies, and /Assaults to name a few, they could use our help. Srsly. ^_^
