I said it doesn't show Light. Ryuk said in the director's cut that he ends up as a god' date=' "airgo" God of Death. I have all of the director's cuts on my profile: http://www.myspace.com/TJ_of_the_Dawn Then again I'd love to think he's a God of Death and not nothing. He's my idol.

P.S.: What's "airgo" mean?

Word of God states that Light does not become a Shinigami, even in the director's cut. The only evidence supporting it is that Ryuk ends his last sentence with "Light?", making it sound like he's talking to Light as a Shinigami; however, the creators have confirmed that he was simply asking a rhetorical question, and that Light was not present.

There is no way for humans to transform into Shinigami; it is explicitly stated late in the series that Ryuk's early comment about "any human who's used the Death Note can neither go to heaven nor hell" was misleading, as neither heaven nor hell exists in the Death Note universe, and humans, when they die, are sent to nothingness.

"Airgo" is not a word. However, it appears to be a phonetic spelling of "ergo", which is a Latin word meaning "therefore".

By the way, the fact that you selected an egotistical serial killer with delusions of godhood as your idol is rather disturbing.

Disturbing? My other idols are Eminem and my brother Andy who's done every drug I've heard in my life and more. Besides you can totally tell that Ryuk was medaforical by his tone and how he stared at the sky... This forum's debate swithed from "Who's better Light or Zero?" to "Did Light become a shinigami, or Nothingness?"

Fixed.

This topic is meant to discuss Light/Kira and Lelouch/Zero. It is obvious that Light became Nothingness, but if you want to place blame on the digression from the main discussion, put it on grim199175 and .Digital.Simplicity.
