How much ATK does the opponent's Dark End Dragon currently have? It could be important.

 

Anyhow, let's start with Genzo's plan:

1) Activate Monster Reborn, Special Summoning Elemental Hero Stratos.

2) Activate the first effect of Elemental Hero Stratos, adding Destiny Hero - Malicious from your deck to your hand.

3) Activate Reinforcement of the Army, adding Dark Grepher from your deck to your hand.

4) Normal Summon Dark Grepher.

5) Activate the effect of Dark Grepher, sending Destiny Hero - Malicious from your hand to the graveyard to send Destiny Hero - Malicious from your deck to the graveyard.

6) Special Summon Dark Armed Dragon.

7) Enter Battle Phase.

8) Attack Stardust Dragon with Dark Armed Dragon, destroying it and inflicting 300 damage to the opponent's Life Points.

9) Enter Main Phase 2.

This leaves you in control of Elemental Hero Stratos, Dark Grepher, and Dark Armed Dragon, and it leaves your opponent's field empty save for that Set Spell or Trap card. On the not-so-bright side, the only card in your hand is Snipe Hunter, your opponent still has that Set Spell or Trap and an unspecified number of cards in hand (but he may well have an empty hand, since he just summoned 3 Synchros and DAD), and your opponent can win the duel now simply by Summoning a monster with 1800 ATK - remember, your Attack Position Dark Grepher is a bit of a weak spot when you only have 100 LP. (By the way, your opponent still has 7700 LP, so you're still not exactly about to win.)

 

Another possible play:

1) Activate Monster Reborn, Special Summoning Elemental Hero Stratos.

2) Activate the first effect of Elemental Hero Stratos, adding Destiny Hero - Malicious from your deck to your hand.

3) Activate Reinforcement of the Army, adding Don Zaloog from your deck to your hand.

4) Normal Summon Snipe Hunter.

5) Activate the effect of Snipe Hunter, discarding Destiny Hero - Malicious and attempting to destroy Stardust Dragon.

6) Activate the effect of Snipe Hunter, discarding Don Zaloog and attempting to destroy either Stardust Dragon or the Set Spell or Trap Card, depending on whether Step 5 was successful. (It is assumed that, after two attempts, Stardust Dragon has been successfully destroyed.)

7) Special Summon Dark Armed Dragon.

8) Activate the effect of Dark Armed Dragon, removing Don Zaloog in your graveyard from play to destroy Dark End Dragon.

9) Activate the effect of Dark Armed Dragon, removing Summon Priest in your graveyard from play to destroy the opponent's Dark Armed Dragon.

This version is more risky, since it has a 1/9 chance of failure due to Snipe Hunter's inconsistent effect, allows the opponent to win next turn with only 1600 ATK instead of a full 1800, and leaves your hand completely empty instead of empty save for Snipe Hunter. On the other hand, it also has a 4/9 chance of removing the Set Spell or Trap, and leaves the opponent with only

1900 LP instead of 7700 LP. I could probably rearrange a few of the steps to make it slightly more resistant to interference from Mind Crush, but you get the general idea.

6) Activate the effect of Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Boundary, discarding Destiny Hero - Malicious to bounce Stardust Dragon.

7) Activate the effect of Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Boundary, discarding Snipe Hunter to bounce Red Dragon Archfiend.

8) Special Summon Dark Armed Dragon.

9) Activate the effect of Dark Armed Dragon, removing Summon Priest in your graveyard from play to destroy the opponent's Dark Armed Dragon.

10) Activate the effect of Dark Armed Dragon, removing Snipe Hunter in your graveyard from play to destroy Dark End Dragon.

11) Activate the effect of Dark Armed Dragon, removing Destiny Hero - Malicious in your graveyard from play to destroy the opponent's Set Spell or Trap.

12) Enter Battle Phase.

13) Attack the opponent's Life Points directly with Dark Armed Dragon, inflicting 2800 damage.

14) Attack the opponent's Life Points directly with Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Boundary, inflicting 2300 damage.

This strategy removes the element of luck involved in the second strategy, and eliminates the flaw in both of the above strategies that allows the opponent to win simply by Normal Summoning Gemini Elf by forcing the opponent to get out a 2400 ATK monster before they can win that easily. It also is certain to remove the Set Spell or Trap, but by the time you get around to removing it, it will be too late to make much of a difference unless said Set Spell or Trap is Mirror Force. On the plus side, it also leaves the opponent with only 2900 LP - not on the verge of death, but not anywhere near 8000 either. You have no hand, but the opponent probably doesn't either, so they're now in topdeck mode.

 

Strategy 3 is the only one that meets Exiro's instructions, which say to "Tell me what you would do to make sure your opponent's field is completely empty at the end of your turn." Strategy 1 leaves the opponent with their Set Spell or Trap, and Strategy 2 only has a 4/9 chance of removing said Set Spell or Trap.

 

Of course, Strategy 3 has a crucial weakness: Nothing Exiro said indicates that he had Brionac in his Extra Deck, although since this was clearly an OCG duel based on the presence of Dark End Dragon, his Extra Deck probably contained one anyhow. But one universal Extra Deck staple is Goyou Guardian, which brings us to this, which is largely an improved version of Strategy 1:

 

[spoiler=Strategy 4: Grand Theft Dragon]

1) Activate Reinforcement of the Army, tutoring Dark Grepher.

2) Normal Summon Dark Grepher.

3) Activate the effect of Dark Grepher, sending Snipe Hunter to the graveyard in order to send Destiny Hero - Malicious from your deck to the graveyard.

4) Special Summon Dark Armed Dragon.

5) Activate Monster Reborn, Special Summoning Krebons.

6) Send Krebons and Dark Grepher to the graveyard to Synchro Summon Goyou Guardian.

7) Enter Battle Phase.

8) Attack Stardust Dragon with Goyou Guardian, destroying him and inflicting 300 damage to the opponent's Life Points.

9) Activate the effect of Goyou Guardian, Special Summoning Stardust Dragon.

10) Attack Dark End Dragon with Dark Armed Dragon, destroying him and inflicting 200 (or possibly 700) damage to the opponent's Life Points.

11) Enter Main Phase 2.

12) Activate the effect of Dark Armed Dragon, removing Destiny Hero - Malicious in the graveyard from play to destroy Red Dragon Archfiend.

13) Activate the effect of Dark Armed Dragon, removing Snipe Hunter in the graveyard from play to destroy the opponent's Dark Armed Dragon.

14) Activate the effect of Dark Armed Dragon, removing Summon Priest in the graveyard from play to destroy the opponent's Set Spell or Trap.

15) Enter End Phase.

16) End turn.

 

 

 

 

This strategy ensures that your opponent can't get a shot at your Life Points without summoning a 2900 ATK monster (or a 2100 ATK piercer, but who uses Frembell Urquizas?) or destroying three of your monsters - one of which has an anti-destruction effect. (If used, of course, Stardust Dragon will return to the opponent's side of the field during the End Phase, but it's still nice to have insurance.) Alternatively, you could have DAD attack Stardust and have Goyou attack Dark End Dragon, then use DED's effect to kill Red Dragon Archfiend during the Main Phase 2, allowing you to save Destiny Hero - Malicious in the graveyard for future use. Its weaknesses include removing the opponent's Set Spell or Trap far too late and emptying your own hand. Another weakness, of course, is that it leaves the opponent with 7500, or at least 7000, Life Points, as opposed to Strategies 2 and 3, both of which decimate the opponent's Life Points; to make up for this, it provides consistency, protection for future turns, and an extremely strong field presence. (It also satisfies Exiro's requirement.)

His atk was 2600' date=' and I also forgot to mention that he is actually owned by you, which might have effect on DAD's summoning condition and his number of bullets.

This is what I standardly thought of vaguely, but I decided to think further because this strategy seems rather inconsistent, even on first thought.

And btw, you would also be able to kill the s/t by removing DED too, which you couldn't have known.

This is actually what I would've done at the moment that the server crashed (yes, it crashed >_>).

And if the 'DED is owned by you' rule is applied here, the chance of destroying the set S/T is the same as destroying Stardust Dragon, 8/9, because DAD would kill it in the end anyways.

I had Brionac in my Extra Deck, and sad enough, I forgot about him, which I do way too often.

This strategy looks like the best one to me.

This time, you wouldn't get the extra DED bullet, but you also wouldn't need it.

This on would indeed be nice too, but sadly, you would get hit by Mirror Force before you could protect yourself from it.

Had I known that the opponent had no hand' date=' I would have gone with Strategy 3. The biggest advantage of Strategy 4 was that it came with extra protection for future turns in the forms of Stardust Dragon and Dark End Dragon, but since the opponent would literally control no cards, the need for such protection would be severely diminished.

 

It's not that I'm bad at this game, it's that I'm too lazy to come up with a suitable way out of the situation. I could easily, but there would be no point to get Technical with a children's card game.

 

If you would enter duels and then scoop the moment you found yourself in a situation that required some degree of thought, then you are bad at this game.

Well there are certain situations that you would put you in a situation that normally you should scoop, for example if your opponent summoned a Victory Dragon and you had 100 LP left, normally you would scoop that way you wouldn't lose the match.

 

But, in the situation that Exiro posted, that is the type of situation you shouldn't scoop in.
