First Digimon Splices

Thanks you lot :)

I'll do more when I get the time. I can see it now;

"Jappipo's Pokemon Vs. ~Killer~'s Digimon!"

Jappio, not Jappipo =P

And that comparison cannot be made as of yet :P

There is no shading on these sprites. Anyone who has remote splicing knowledge can pull this off. The border on the second one looks kinda bad as well =/

You're ok, but keep practicing. I recommend using some more complex sprites, and getting the hang of shading, because shading is where much of the skill in splicing relies ^_^

Jappio, Jappipo, JamJario, who cares, lol.

Thanks, I'll try more advanced sprites, as the ones I currently use, well, used in the examples here, had no shading whatsoever to start with.

I'm not sure if I can approve of you using someone else's work without permission or proper credit. I also find it hard to critique these when they are this simple and I don't see the original bases that they came from.

What i can tell though are a few problems. One of them is your lack of recoloring the borders. With the first one for example, the little hair thing has a blue border, or even though the rest has a black border. This is present in pretty much all of them. Another flaw is some of the mixes are kind of bland in my opinion. It's hard to say without seeing the originals, but the first, the second, and the third are the ones I'm mainly talking about. I haven't been a Digimon fan in over like 6 years or something, so I could be wrong and those things could be involving like 10 different Digimon, but it looks like each is only get one extra feature, the bug one maybe none from what I can tell.

Retro splicing is ok as it is, but I mean they will always look simplistic and stuff. Adding in shades and tints to these is normally also not a stage to splicing, but instead of revamping or general spriting though. Also shading I like to see as one of the, if not the most, hardest part of spriting. Again I'd like to warn you though about using someone else's sprites without permission or credit, it's risky business.
