here is chapter nineteen. the conclusion of the battle against Manipulamon, or i should say ViralManipulamon ^_^

[spoiler=Chapter Nineteen]

A Losing Battle; Digivolution Miracle!

The Digimon continued to circle and attack the massive ViralManipulamon. One of the massive creature’s three remaining tentacles lashed out, catching TechnoFillimon in the wing she fell toward the ground, struggling to regain flight, pulling up just in time and rejoining the battle. Our forces had dwindled. We were down to two Ultimate Digimon, two Perfect Digimon, and Birdramon, an Adult Digimon. There were Dokugamon, Tuskmon, and TechnoPupmon as well, but they were grounded and therefore ineffective against such a large and powerful foe. Of course by that logic so was the injured Knighthramon. Still, despite the enemy’s vast power, the Digimon continued to weave between ViralManipulamon’s tentacles and attack at every opportunity. None of their attacks seemed to do anything.

“This isn’t working,” I said.

“We know,” said Sarah.

“Yeah,” said Jen, “but what else can we do?”

“Well,” said Jeremy, turning to Jen and Sarah, “I’ve been thinking. The two of you wield a power that is by far greatest when you wield it together. So I was thinking, if the two of you were to call your Crest power out at the same time, maybe the two powers will amplify each other.”

“You’re just saying this now?” said Sarah threateningly. Even as she spoke she placed her hand over her Neo Crest of Light. Jen followed suite, placing her hand over her Neo Crest of Love. The Crests began to glow. That’s when there was a loud sound above. I looked up in time to see TechnoFillimon and MetalStaliamon thrown to the ground about sixty yards away. They tried to rise, but they collapsed, reverting to Child Level.

“Ponymon!”

“Coltmon, get up!”

Sarah and Jen’s Crests began to glow. They light merged together, each increasing the others’ power, and something miraculous happened.

Coltmon and Ponymon were encased in light and rose into the air. Jen’s and Sarah’s Digiplayers rose into the air, and their Crests slid from their tags, becoming disks. Sarah smiled, and Jen said, “Oh sweet!” They grabbed the disks and swiped them through the slots in their Digiplayers, calling, “Initiate Warp Digivolution!”

Everyone, including MetalDragonterramon, Knighthramon, and even ViralManipulamon looked over at the horses. The light around the horses grew brighter.

“Coltmon, Warp Digivolve to…”

“Ponymon, Warp Digivolve to…”

Ponymon and Coltmon became TechnoFillimon and MetalStaliamon. MetalStaliamon became a robotic man with thick, strong armor plating. He stood sixteen feet tall and had broad mechanical wings. His face was very human, and he had long blond hair. He wore a mask marked with cross, and carried a round shield also marked with a cross. The blade that was torn from his armor earlier rose up and became a long curved sword that he caught in his right hand, calling out, “MechAngemon!”

The triangular box on TechnoFillimon’s back separated and hung in the air. TechnoFillimon became a glowing humanoid form, fifteen feet tall, with broad feathered wings, armored in metal and robotics. Her face was organic. She had long blond hair and a metallic mask over her eyes, bearing a cross. She carried a tall shield marked with a cross as well. The triangular box became a crossbow that mounted over the Digimon’s right arm. She called out, “TechAngewomon!”

“Angels?” I said. I pulled my handheld from my pocket and scanned the two figured that hung in the air facing ViralManipulamon, there bodies glowing radiantly. I read the display. “They’re both Metal Angel Digimon,” I said, “Ultimate Level!”

I pocketed the handheld again as Jen said, “Awesome! We have four Ultimate Digimon now. ViralManipulamon doesn’t stand a chance!”

“No,” said MechAngemon, the massive ViralManipulamon roaring at him challengingly. “In their weakened state MetalDragonterramon and Knighthramon are not strong enough to stand up to ViralManipulamon. And the two of us cannot defeat ViralManipulamon, even with the help of our allies.” As they spoke, ViralManipulamon scrutinized them, as if trying to ascertain their powers. There was a powerful aura coming from the Metal Angels. One that ViralManipulamon didn’t really seem to anxious experience first hand.

“We will lend our power to you,” said TechAngewomon. “MetalDragonterramon, Knighthramon, we will unlock your full power!”

ViralManipulamon roared again as power flowed from the angels and into my two Digimon. The angels became their Child forms and descended gracefully to the ground. Power flowed from my Digimon to me. “W-what is this?”

My Crests glowed at once. “Whatever this power is,” I said, “I’m going to use it!” I pulled my Digivice and Digiplayer from my pocket and connected them together. The Crests in the tags hanging around my next slid free and became Disks. The two disks merged into one. I input the new Disk into my Digiplayer and held it up over my head as knowledge flowed through me. I called out, “Initiate DNA Digivolution!”

A beam shot out from the Disk, splitting and hitting both of my Digimon at once.

“MetalDragonterramon…” He became encased in light.

“Knighthramon…” He was encased in light as well.

The two glowing Digimon rose into the air, the light around them obscuring them from view. They merged, and the light grew several times more intense before flashing and fading away. In the place of my two Digimon there was now a large humanoid figure, about eighteen feet tall, wearing thick padding for armor over his entire body. It was black and brown in color, except for his left arm and leg, which were blue. He wore metal plating over his chest and shoulders. The Crest of Courage marked the armor over his right shoulder, and the Crest of Friendship marked the armor over his left shoulder. The two Crests also marked his chest plating. He had a dragon’s tail and broad fire-red wings. He wore a helmet that covered his face, except for his eyes. Three backswept curved spikes protruded from the top of his helmet. A metal ring appeared around each of his forearms. The light around his condensed into two weapons that slid over his hands and connected to the metal rings. The weapon over his right hand was a longsword. The weapon over his left hand was a three-pronged circular claw. The claws could fold back, making way for him to fire the cannon in their center. He threw open his arms and called out to the sky, “InfernoKnightmon!”

ViralManipulamon snarled and lashed out with one of his tentacles. InfernoKnightmon raised his cannon without moving and called, “Stati-Shot Cannon!” A blue static blast shot from his cannon, blasting the tentacle, blowing the end off, leaving ViralManipulamon with one fewer limb.

“Heh,” said InfernoKnightmon, “Guess he can’t heal if I completely decimate him first. This will be easier than I thought.”

That’s when ViralManipulamon decided to counterattack. He brought his two remaining tentacle tips together, charging his ultimate attack. It took longer than before, since he had fewer tentacles to direct his energy with. InfernoKnightmon could easily have avoided the attack. But he crossed his arms and hung there in the air, holding his ground. The massive beam fired from ViralManipulamon’s palms, hitting my Digimon, engulfing his entire body. Pushing him back, hitting the Citadel wall only fifteen yards from the place where it was hit last. This time the structure of the wall was compromised and the beam carried all the way through, only stopping when it hit a tower near wall, destroying the tower in the process.

I stared wide eyed at the place where my Digimon had fallen. “No,” I said, utterly shocked. “He lost? What do we do now?!”

That’s when something truly miraculous happened. Out of the dust and the rubble left from the collapsed tower rose a figure. It was InfernoKnightmon, his arms still crossed. He was virtually undamaged, the only sign that he had been hit by ViralManipulamon’s attack being some light scorching of his armor. Nothing consequential.

“Hey, couldn’t you have dodged that and saved me a heart attack?!” I cried.

“Sorry,” said InfernoKnightmon, “but now I know.”

“Huh?”

“Now I know that his strongest attack can’t even hurt me.” InfernoKnightmon flew toward ViralManipulamon. ViralManipulamon lashed out with both of his tentacles. My Digimon deflected them with ease. ViralManipulamon released a barrage of wind blades. InfernoKnightmon dodged the blades with little effort.

“ViralManipulamon,” said InfernoKnightmon, “your mind has been corrupted by your power, leaving you with nothing but an instinctual need to destroy. It is for this reason that you MUST BE STOPPED!”

InfernoKnightmon flew strait at ViralManipulamon, holding his sword out ahead of him, and called “Blade of Courage!” His sword was wreathed in a super hot fire that spread over his body. He flew strait through the massive enemy’s chest. Energy poured from InfernoKnightmon’s body, splitting ViralManipulamon in half from head to tail, crying out in pain. The two halves of his body disintegrated, becoming bits of data that dispersed throughout the air. I scanned the data, and I smiled.

“What’s up John?” asked Jen.

“That data,” I said. “The data of Machinedramon’s forces is still in there. We can still get them back.”

“Well that’s good.”

InfernoKnightmon landed beside us. He de-Digivolved into Snakemon and BlackMainemon. The battle was finally over.

We spent the next week or so at Machine Citadel. He hung out with the machines and with our new friend TechnoPupmon in particular. We ate and slept and relaxed, and we helped as much as we could with the repairs. We tried to explain to the machines why we had to eat. They didn’t get it. We were honored, and we were thanked for saving the Digital world. Once a decent number of Machinedramon’s forces had been restored he sent many of them out to scout the area. They were able to confirm that all Digimon that had been tagged by Manipulamon were now free to return to their lives, their tags disappearing at the same time that ViralManipulamon was defeated. It was an uncharacteristically happy time. But before long we knew that it was time to go home. Only thing was, we had no idea how to do it.

here's chapter twenty. i tried to make it kinda funny, since there isn't any action. the real point of this chapter was to get you all interested in the history of this digital world and in the mystery of how the new enemy got to earth. let me know if it succeeded.

[spoiler=Chapter Twenty]

A New Evil is Foreseen

The night before we left the Citadel to find the way home I got a brilliant idea. My Digimon and I were in the room given to us to use by the Machines. The others were in there own rooms on the same floor of the tower we were in. I took out the Digicomp and inserted the handheld, turning the computer on, activating the A.I.

“How can I help you?” the A.I. asked.

“Well, we beat Manipulamon. So I was wondering, how exactly do we get home?”

“You must return to the place where the veil is thinnest between this world and your own and use your Digivice ND’s to open a Digiport,” the computer answered in a matter of fact way.

I waited.

“Anything else?” the computer asked.

“Uh, yeah. Where’s this place where the veil is thinnest? You didn’t tell me.”

“The veil is thinnest at the place where you found me,” the computer said. “The only place in this world where a Digiport can be opened is-.”

“So you’re saying that to get home all we have to do is go back to Desert Tower?” asked Jen. We had just left the Citadel less than twenty minutes ago. He had already passed the area of the forest where our battle with ViralManipulamon had taken place, and we were on our way back toward the river and Digital Bridge; the first stop on our way to the desert.

“Yep,” I said. “We just gotta get there and activate our Digivices.”

Amanda looked shocked, “I-it’s that simple?”

“Yeah,” I replied. “Why, what did you think we’d have to do?”

“I dunno,” said Sarah, “but I for one always thought that it would have to be more than that!”

“Nope.”

Sarah looked me right in the eyes and said, “Are you sure?”

“Yes,” I said, not even trying to hide my annoyance, “I’m sure.”

The eager-to-serve TechnoPupmon spoke next. He’d been following us since we left, walking at Jen’s side. “So that’s it? We beat ViralManipulamon and now we’re going to the real world?”

“Yeah,” I said. “Hey, why are you following us anyway?”

“I dunno,” he answered. “I just feel like I’m supposed to.”

I shrugged.

“I wish Dokugamon and her friends could have come too,” said Amanda.

“We all do,” said Jen.

“Yeah,” said Serpentmon, “but Dokugamon, Birdramon, and Tuskmon belong in this world where they can help the Digimon whose lives have been upset by Manipulamon to get back on track.”

“But the six, or I guess seven of us,” said Chickomon, “all belong with the five of you, wherever you go-.”

“Cool,” said Sarah, interrupting him, “but hey, I just got a great idea! We’re gonna be going right by Amphibian Village right?”

“Yeah,” said Jeremy.

“So,” said Sarah, “we should stop by there and see the Gekomon and Otamamon and maybe stay the night. You know, have some fun with our friends!”

“Sounds good to me,” I said. “Next stop; Amphibian Village!”

We set up camp for the night once it got dark. Mechmon and TechnoPupmon pooled the power from their energy systems, letting them stay both conscious and observant all night. They acted as lookouts. It also gave me a chance to learn more about TechnoPupmon through Mechmon, since he would spend hours alone with our new addition. I know I’m sounding paranoid, but the Digital World isn’t exactly one hundred percent trustworthy, right?

I was about to lay back and sleep when I looked up into the starry sky. So it’s over. Have we really brought about a time of peace for this world, or is there something more?

We rose the next morning along with the sun. We had a (less than) hearty breakfast of apples and mushrooms and water. It was exactly like our dinner from the previous night. God I wanted a cheeseburger. After breakfast we packed up our bedrolls and packs and pressed forward again. It would be nearly another day’s journey to the village, and yet another day’s walk to the Desert Tower. It was getting dark when Jeremy said, “Hey look. The vegetation is getting more tropical. It won’t be long now.”

And he was right. It was only about thirty minutes before the branches parted and we found ourselves in the edge of Amphibian Village once again.

One of the Gekomon saw us and cried out, “Humans? Hey, it’s the Humans!” Gekomon and Otamamon poured from the huts and surrounded us happily. It wasn’t long before Elder Gekomon, who had been standing near the pond talking with some villagers, heard the sound of the villagers and came to see us as well.

The villagers parted to let their leader through, and the crowd fell silent. Elder Gekomon stepped up to us. He was carrying a staff to symbolize his position. He stopped just in from of us and said, “Greetings Digidestined and Digimon. We welcome you back to our village. We also congratulate you on your victory over Manipulamon’s Ultimate form, ViralManipulamon. But, sadly, congratulations are short lived, for I have bad news.”

Elder Gekomon led us across the pond in the woven boats. They were surprisingly sturdy. Once we reached the opposite side we walked with the Elder Gekomon and his two Gekomon assistants for a short distance through the trees. It wasn’t long before we reached the mouth of a cave, hidden behind some shrubs. We stepped inside and found ourselves in a massive cavern big enough to fit two, maybe three Machinedramons. In the center of the cavern, on a pedestal, was a glowing crystal sphere the size of a grapefruit, the light of which illuminated the entire area. As we grew closer, the crystal rose several inches above the pedestal and began to rotate slowly in the air.

“This,” said Elder Gekomon, “is the Azulong-Crystal. It was left by the great Digimon Sovereign of this world in the time before the great synchronization of time between the three worlds. It was given to him by one of the Sovereigns of the first Digital World as a way for this world’s Sovereign to look into the future of Digimon in and from this world. Over time, he gave it to one of the former leaders of this village. He knew that his time in this world was coming to an end, and he wanted the Crystal’s power to continue to be used for good. The leader of our village gains the power to read the future using the crystal through a sacred ritual. When you left our village the last time I used the Crystal to look into your future.

“I saw your battle with ViralManipulamon as well as the crossroads that would either lead to your victory or defeat. Then I saw another crossroads. One that led me to push the Crystal’s power to the absolute limit, and I saw something that I never expected.”

I looked down at the small frog Digimon and asked, “W-what’s that?”

“I saw you back in your world,” he said, “fighting a more powerful evil than Manipulamon. More powerful even than his Ultimate Level form ViralManipulamon. An evil that will be unleashed upon your world in a matter of days!”

“What do you mean ‘a more powerful evil than Manipulamon’?” I demanded. “And how did it get to Earth?”

“I don’t know,” said Elder Gekomon. “All I know is that normally something that powerful shouldn’t be able to leak through the Digital Matrix that separates this world from yours. He must have some unusual abilities if he’s able to break through into another world. Also, if I interpreted the vision correctly, the Digimon will not only attack your world, but your hometown specifically.”

“What?” Jen asked.

“How could you know that?” I asked Gekomon. “You’ve never seen our hometown.”

“Because,” said Elder Gekomon, “I saw thirteen of you fighting the new threat; six Humans and seven Digimon. There was someone else with you. Another Digidestined. And you seemed like you knew them.”

“So someone we know back home is also a Digidestined?” Jeremy asked.

“Yes,” said Elder Gekomon, “and if I’m correct your success against this new enemy will be greatly dependant on finding them.”

Later that evening we sat down with the Gekomon and Otamamon and ate dinner. To celebrate my team’s victory over Manipulamon the Gekomon brought meat from their meat farms nearby. They explained that in the Digital World you could grow meat from the ground, but that the Gekomon didn’t have much because good meat farming conditions were hard to find in tropical areas. It was very interesting. Despite Elder Gekomon’s rather menacing prophesy, I even managed to have a good time.

After the meal we set up camp in the same large hut from our first time in the village. Mechmon and TechnoPupmon were able to shut down for awhile, finally getting some rest. Elder Gekomon sent one of his assistants to wake us early so that we could begin the final stretch of our journey. We set out, using the handheld’s map functions to guide us.

“So John,” Jen asked, her excitement apparent in her voice, “who do you think that this sixth kid is?”

“I dunno,” I answered.

“Huh,” said Jeremy. “Well, the Elder Gekomon said that we all knew them. I moved away four years ago, so that narrows it down a bit, right?”

“Uh huh,” said Sarah, “it makes sense.” Amanda and Chickomon nodded.

BlackColtmon looked up at Serpentmon, who was riding on my shoulders, and said, “Whoever this guy is, I hope he can pick up some of your slack.” Serpentmon stuck his tongue out as his only response.

We were on the last day of our journey. We had already left the Oasis area and entered the edge of the Desert Region. We walked through the hot sun with our jackets tied up over our heads for a couple hours before Amanda cried, “Look, there it is! Desert Tower!”

Sure enough there it was, just on the horizon. We picked up our pace.

“Okay,” Sarah said, looking up at the tower with her hands on her hips, “now what?”

“Heh heh,” I said. “That’s where I come in. You guys should ask the Digicomp more questions.”

“We can’t,” said Sarah. “You always hog it.”

“Just watch and learn,” I said. I raised my Digivice up, aiming the screen at the tower, and I called, “Digiport open!”

A swirling portal opened in the air ahead of us. I turned to the others and said, “Well, let’s get going!”

finally, the new chapter is up! when the monstrous and powerful Tyranterramon appears earlier than the team had hoped, can they stand up to him without finding the sixth kid first?

expect the next chapter, the last chapter of book one, tomorrow. after that i'm going to put the first chapter of book five up in my yugioh fic, and then i'm going to write a short story featuring characters submitted by my readers.

[spoiler=Chapter Twenty-One]

Tyranterramon

My team and I emerged from the Digiport outside a shop downtown. No one seemed to notice, or if they did, they thought they were going crazy. Either way, it worked for me. What people did seem to notice was the Digimon. They stared at us and the Digimon, but we didn’t care. We were finally home!

We walked for awhile, trying to find a way back to our hometown. We had no money, so we couldn’t take the bus. And we didn’t have our cell phones on us when we were pulled into the Digital World. We were pretty much stranded. Luckily we were soon spotted by a police officer, a lieutenant. He recognized us as a group of missing kids and took us back to the station to meet with his superior, Chief Jeffery Thompson. When the lieutenant asked us to leave our “pets” outside, Thompson told us to bring them with us to his office. Even then I had a feeling that he knew something. My suspicions were increased when he asked the lieutenant to wait outside while he interviewed us privately.

Once we were inside Thompson’s office and the blinds were closed, he turned to me and said, “You’re the leader here?”

“The leader of what exactly?” Jeremy asked, but I raised my hand to silence him.

“Yes,” I said, “I’m John, leader of the Digidestined. These creatures are our partner Digimon.”

Thompson nodded and sat down at his desk. “I thought so. There were several attacks by Digimon in several majors cities throughout the world almost as soon as you kids were reported missing. Cincinnati was almost completely untouched, and the situation was resolved by a group of kids who have since dropped off the radar. The official position is that it was a terrorist attack and that Digimon don’t exist, but I have always believed. I’ve been researching Digimon on my own time since the incident on the web four years ago.”

“Then we’re lucky we found you,” I said. “I think those kids may have been other Digidestined who were chosen by the guardians of another Digital World than the one that our Digimon are from. A threat will soon appear that we are destined to suppress. But first we have to find another Digimon and his human partner. We think its someone that we know.”

Thompson nodded, “What can I do to help?”

“Well, for starters you can get us home and give us access to a phone so we can get our parents together in one place. They should know what’s going on. Then you can give us your number so that if we come up with any leads on the kid we’re trying to locate, you can help us find him.”

Thompson grumbled and buried his face in his hands. Then he looked up at me and said, “I can’t help you find this kid. I understand that you kids are the only ones who can do this, but I won’t help put a child in danger. You seem smart, so I’m sure you’ll find whoever it is that you’re looking for.”

I was disappointed, but I nodded. “What about letting us call our parents and then giving us a ride?”

Thompson nodded. “That much I will do.”

I nodded again, “Thanks.”

I called my mom. Jeremy called his parents and told them that he was okay, but that he would not be home for awhile, that he had something to do. He explained things to them while Jen called her parents, and then Amanda called her mom. We asked our parents, meaning my mom, my aunt and uncle, and my other aunt (Amanda’s mom) to meet at my house. It was the closest to the station. They agreed, after some serious prompting, and everything was arranged. Thompson had some officers drive us home. They dropped us off and we went inside to confront our families. There was a lot of arguing and crying, so I’ll spare you the details. Basically our parents didn’t believe us, so we proved to them that our Digimon were real Digimon. Then they didn’t want us to go, so we convinced them, with help from the Digimon, that the entire world would be in trouble if we did nothing. My mom was the first to except it. She didn’t like it, but she understood. With her help we were able to convince Amanda’s mom, and then Jen’s parents, and we were good to go. Compared to Manipulamon, our parents were no obstacle at all. The most resistance we encountered came from Jen’s sister, Kristin. After we were finished saying goodbye to our parents and after I got some money from a hiding place in my room, for the bus, as well as a few more things, and we headed outside, we found ourselves face to face with Kristin, a stern look on her face.

“You aren’t going,” she said, “unless I can come too.”

“No way Kristin,” said Jen. “We’ll have enough to deal with trying to find the missing kid. The last thing we need to be doing is worrying about you.”

“I-I can help,” said TechnoPupmon. “I’ll stay with Kristin and if this Digimon shows up I’ll get her to safety.”

I looked from Kristin to TechnoPupmon, and something occurred to me. “Okay,” I said. “You guys can come. But TechnoPupmon, you have to promise to protect Kris no matter what.”

He nodded, “You can count on me!”

“Alright,” I said, “it’s time to find the missing kid!”

That’s when things got bad fast.

There was an earth shaking explosion in the distance. I whipped out the handheld and scanned as far out as I could. “I’m detecting a massive digital signal about ten miles back toward the city. Looks like the missing kid will have to wait. Time to go to work. We’d better fly.”

We took out our Digivices and called, “Initiate Direct Digivolution!”

“Serpentmon, Direct Digivolve to! WingedDragonterramon!”

“BlackColtmon, Direct Digivolve to! JousterStaliamon!”

“Coltmon, Direct Digivolve to! MetalStaliamon!”

“Ponymon, Direct Digivolve to! TechnoFillimon!”

“Mechmon, Direct Digivolve to! MegaMechamon!”

“Chickomon, Direct Digivolve to! MetalBrauntomon!”

In an instant the seven of us (six humans and a digital dog) were being carried by the flying Digimon. JousterStaliamon ran below us. It wasn’t long before we were at the source of the Digimon signal. The area was nearly devoid of life. Seeing something like what we had just seen had a tendency to make you run away.

“My God,” said Jeremy, staring at the mammoth figure before us. Hovering a few feet into the air with fractal code data swirling around him, was a huge muscular humanoid creature. He wore brown leather armor from his waist down to his knees, and a studded brown leather pad over his right shoulder. There was a spiked ring around his right wrist, and a spike free metal ring around his left wrist. His right arm as bigger than his left. Over his head he wore a helm resembling a roman centurion’s, except without the brush-like plume. He was about thirty to thirty-five percent taller than ViralManipulamon, making him about thirty stories tall. His eyes were closed and he was unmoving.

“It doesn’t look like he’s fully emerged yet,” I said to my team as we lowered slowly to the ground to join JousterStaliamon. “Maybe if we hit him now with everything we have we can destroy him before he’s able to counterattack.

“You heard him,” said WingedDragonterramon, “full power!”

Mine, Sarah’s and Jen’s Digivices came online, and we called out, “Initiate Ultimate Digivolution!”

“WingedDragonterramon, Ultimate Digivolve to!”

“JousterStaliamon, Ultimate Digivolve to!”

“MetalStaliamon, Ultimate Digivolve to!”

“TechnoFillimon, Ultimate Digivolve to!”

“MetalDragonterramon!”

“Knighthramon!”

“MechAngemon!”

“TechAngewomon!”

The six Digimon took to the sky and moved in to attack.

Kristin

Even though we had the enemy outnumbered, I still had a really bad feeling. The Digimon circled the unmoving foe and launched their various attacks. The attacks seemed to have no effect, other than to wake him up.

“Who dares wake Tyranterramon?” the massive form demanded.

“We do,” said MetalDragonterramon. “Now prepare to die!”

The Digimon fired their attacks again. Tyranterramon was hit, and he was hurt, but not enough to matter. He raised his right fist and called “Tyranterra Fist!” He punched, and a shockwave burst from his fist, slamming MetalDragonterramon and Knighthramon into the angels. Tyranterramon attacked again, sending all six Digimon sprawling through the air, out of control.

I have to help somehow, I thought. I really feel like I’m here for a reason. There has to be something that I can do!

It was then that Knighthramon was hit by another attack and was hurt. To recover he de-Digivolved to BlackColtmon, landing by John’s side. “Take a break,” John said, “and then we’ll hit him again once you reach full strength.

I was frustrated. I wanted to be someone that the others could rely upon to help them fight. I sincerely wanted to help fight. It was then that my cell phone emerged from my pocket and became a form of grass green light. It split into two and became a green Digivice and Digiplayer. I caught them, and a beam shot from the Digivice screen, hitting my chest. It became a tag with a Crest inside. The symbol was a droplet with a circle in it.

“I get it now,” I said, looking down at TechnoPupmon. “I’m the missing kid. Which means that you must be my partner!”

“Then what are we waiting for?” TechnoPupmon asked. “Let’s help!”

“Right. Initiate Digiplayer Digivolution!”

here it is, the final chapter of book one. Tyranterramon becomes more terrifying in his power by the minute!

[spoiler=Chapter Twenty-Two]

The Threat to Both Worlds

John

Tyranterramon continued to punch wildly, scoring multiple hits and leaving the Digimon a mess. I watched the enemy’s expression from my place below. It was clear that he was merely using the Digimon as playthings. That meant that his attacks could become much stronger. For the first time since Manipulamon first appeared to us in the forest, I was truly scared.

Tyranterramon hit MetalDragonterramon with a full on punch. MetalDragonterramon hung in the air stunned.

“You bore me,” said Tyranterramon. “Maybe if I kill you your friends will put up a better fight. Tyranterra Fist!”

Tyranterramon raised his fist, prepared to strike. “No!” I cried. “MetalDragonterramon, move!” I looked around. None of the other Digimon were in any position to deflect the attack.

Tyranterramon punched, his first surrounded by a wicked-looking red aura. I ran toward my Digimon, ready to do anything that I could to save him. But there was nothing I could do. I watched in horror, but just before the attack hit its mark, a gleaming humanoid shape jumped up and carried MetalDragonterramon out of harm’s way. Then, seconds later four red gashes appeared on Tyranterramon’s chest. He was surprised, stumbling back and staring down at the wound.

I looked around, trying to locate MetalDragonterramon and the figure. I saw them. The new arrival was supporting the still winded MetalDragonterramon. He was humanoid with an animal-like head, like that of a wolf. He also had a tail, and his hands and feet were more like paws. His body was made of green and blue metal.

“Who’s that?” I asked.

“That,” said Kristen, walking up to my side, her arms crossed with pride, “is my partner Digimon TechnoPupmon’s Perfect form, TechnoWeremon. Turns out I was the missing kid.”

“Yeah,” I said, “I know.” I looked down at BlackColtmon and asked, “You ready to get back in this?”

“You bet!”

I brandished my Digivice, “Initiate Warp Digivolution!”

“BlackColtmon, Warp Digivolve to! Knighthramon!” The highly skilled Warrior Digimon took to the air, drawing his lance.

“Tyranterramon,” said TechnoWeremon, “now that I’m here this fight is gonna go in a different direction.” He jumped up and slashed with glowing red claws, calling, “Static Thorn!” Four waves of energy flew toward Tyranterramon’s chest. Tyranterramon raised his arm, charged with power that seemed to pour from the metal ring around his wrist. The energy waves were deflected. But while Tyranterramon was busy with the Static Thorn, TechnoWeremon jumped up and two cannons flipped up over his shoulders. He called out, “Biotech Lasers!” Two thick beams burst from the cannon barrels, hitting Tyranterramon in the chest. They did little if any damage, and I noticed that the four cuts were already gone. This Digimon could recover from damage even faster than ViralManipulamon.

Then I guess we should stop giving him time to recover.

“Finishing attacks!” I commanded. The Digimon circled their foe and called out their attacks, firing in rapid succession. Smoke and dust poured over the massive foe’s torso and head. The smoke cleared. Tyranterramon seemed virtually undamaged.

“He’s still waking up,” I said as the truth hit me. “His data is still integrating. That means that he’s still growing stronger. But it also means that this might be our last chance to deal him any lasting harm. Hit him again!”

“Heh,” said Tyranterramon. “Don’t think that I’ll make that easy for you. Terror Blast!” Beams fired from Tyranterramon’s eyes, sweeping over the Digimon, throwing them all violently to the ground. Tyranterramon reached down and peeled the side off of a nearby building, throwing it toward the Digimon. Then he fired his beam again, causing the massive chunk of stone to explode. The debris scattered through the air, hitting the Digimon like a wave of bullets. The only one of the Digimon to remain on his feet was MegaMechamon. He pushed through the attack and then took aim with all of his weapons, calling, “Full Assault!” Every one of his weapons fired, but the massive Tyranterramon jumped back two hundred yards. The beams missed completely, and the missiles lost their lock, spiraling toward a gas station. They hit, igniting the gasoline. Tyranterramon scooped up a chunk of flaming debris and threw it toward an area not far away where news crews, officers, and civilians were watching.

“Guys,” I commanded, “stop that fireball!”

MetalDragonterramon and MetalBrauntomon shot back into the air and shot toward the fireball, trying to intercept it. The people scattered, but if the Digimon failed, it wouldn’t make a difference.

Just in the nick of time, MetalDragonterramon, straining, caught the fireball long enough for MetalBrauntomon to bat it back toward the source with his tail. Tyranterramon punched, shattering the fireball in his face. But through the flaming debris flew Knighthramon. He raised his lance and stabbed with a wave of energy in the weapon’s wake, hitting the massive enemy in the forehead. The utterly confused Tyranterramon fell back into a building, using it to catch himself.

“My data has fully integrated, yet I am not at full strength. It must be this place. I am too far from the resonance of the Cores.”

Tyranterramon regained his footing. “Time to take this to my home turf.” said Tyranterramon.

“We’re not finished yet,” said TechnoWeremon. He leaped up, his claws raised. Tyranterramon punched, just as the metallic werewolf slashed. TechnoWeremon was hit, de-Digivolving to TechnoPupmon. But at the same time four red gashes, deeper than the last four, appeared on Tyranterramon’s chest. Still, he shrugged it off, raising his fist, charged white, and punched toward the air. The sky seemed to rip open, and a massive hole appeared. It was a portal with the Digital World on the other side.

This Digimon was nearly invulnerable with great attack power, intelligence and speed. And now it seemed that he could use a concentrated version of his attack to open doors between locations. I couldn’t think of any way to defeat the monstrous Tyranterramon, and it seemed that our battle with him had only just begun.
