Lilrow
I've decided to discontinue this, so can a mod please delete it? _____________________________ Yu-Gi-Oh! Ties That Bind: Episode 1: A New Start “Hey! Mr. McMarvio!” I called cheerily to the shopkeeper inside. I stepped inside and walked up to the counter, smiling hopefully at him.“Haha. Yes Cade, the new booster pack IS in.”“Really!? How much can I get for this?” I said eagerly as I placed a huge pile of Duel Monster tokens on the counter.“Where on earth did you get this much?”“My mum won a raffle at work and gave them to me!” I happily replied, eager to get the booster packs. The shopkeeper picked up a box of the new “Heavy Mech Barrage” booster pack and placed it on the counter.“This is the very first box to be opened, and I’ll sell it to you for all your tokens”“Okay! The first box always has the most rares!” I greedily said, snatching up the box.“Haha. You know that’s just a myth!” Mr. McMarvio said as I ran to one of the tables they used for local tournaments to open my packs. * “Hey Derek! Wait up!” I shouted as I ran to catch up with my friend.“You need to hurry up! I thought you were ill or something!” He replied, slightly annoyed, but still happy.“Nah! I was just fine tuning my new deck.” I said slyly, knowing he’d be curious.“New huh? Think it’ll be better then that terrible old one you used to use?” He said, although I could tell he was interested, and maybe a little jealous.“Oh, this new one will DEFINITELY score me some wins.” I said confidently, “I’m gonna test it out at lunch, who do you think I should duel?”“How about I play it for myself? See if it really is that good?” He replied, sounding sure he would win.“Okay, but you better be ready to lose!” * Morning classes seemed to drag on for ages, because Cade was so eager to try out his deck. Finally lunchtime came. Cade: Alright Derek, get your game on!Their duel disks started in unison. C: 8000D: 8000 Cade: I’ll summon Light Mech – Maverick (1500/1300) in attack mode! Then I’ll activate the effect of my Light Mech - Tele-K (400/1200) in my hand! Because I control another Light Mech, I can special summon him, and I’ll do it in defense mode! I’ll also tell you now that only one Mech monster can be special summoned per turn. I’ll end my turn. Derek: Alright Cade, good so far! They had attracted quite a crowd as people sensed this would be quite an intense duel. Derek: I’ll summon Gellenduo (1700/0), and activate Double Attack! By discarding a higher level monster than Gellenduo, it can attack twice this turn! I’ll discard Airknight Parshath! Gellenduo, attack Light Mech – Tele-K! Tele-K was destroyed in an explosion of nuts and bolts. Derek: Now, attack Light Mech – Maverick! A smile spread across Cade’s face. Cade: I was hoping you’d do that Derek.Derek: Huh?Cade: My monster has a special ability! When Light Mech – Tele-K is destroyed in battle, all of my Mech monsters gain 1500 ATK until the end of the turn!Derek:What!? Gellenduo flew in for an attack but Light Mech – Maverick’s laser cannons started into action and blew Gellenduo away. Derek: Ahh! C: 8000D: 6700 Derek: Wow Cade, I’m impressed! You could’ve never pulled a move like that with your old deck! But things are gonna heat up! I’ll set two face-downs and end my turn. Cade: Alright! Because I control another Light Mech, I can special summon Light Mech – Cybertech Ninja (800/900) from my hand!Derek: Let me guess, all of your Light Mechs can be special summoned if there is another on your field?Cade: Right! So now I’ll attack directly with Light Mech – Cybertech Ninja!Derek: Not so fast! I activate Radiant Return! It let’s me special summon a light monster from my graveyard, and I’ll choose the Airknight Parshath (1900/1400) I earlier discarded! I’ll also use Obligatory Attack! Which forces all of your monsters to attack a monster I special summoned during your turn! So now Light Mech – Cybertech Ninja has to attack!Cade: I’ll use his effect, because I have another Light Mech, I can negate one battle involving him this turn! Derek gritted his teeth. Derek: Well, your Light Mech – Maverick still has to attack! Light Mech – Maverick fired his laser at Airknight Parshath but he ran forward, dodging the fire and stuck him down with his sword. C: 7600D: 6700 Derek: Because of my Airknight Parshath’s effect, I get to draw a card whenever I inflict battle damage to you! Derek drew a card, smiling, as Cade bit his lip. Derek: This is just the beginning Cade. Things are going to get worse! TO BE CONTINUED Will Cade be able to defeat Derek’s powerful knight? He’s out of monsters, and low on life points! What’s that!? Could it be the Heavenly Divine Knight? How will Cade get out of that? Next time! The Heavenly Divine Knight! Neo-Parshath! Lilrow
Yu-Gi-Oh! Ties That Bind: Episode 2: The Heavenly Divine Knight! Neo-Parshath!Derek: I’ll skip my turn, think of it as a second chance.Cade: Don’t mock me!Derek: It’s your turn Cade! C: 7600D: 6700 Cade: Ok! Let’s draw something good! Cade drew and silently cursed for the weak card he had drawn. Cade: I’ll special summon Light Mech – Cyber Scout Frog {0/100}, his effect lets me summon him in face-down defence position! I’ll also switch Light Mech – Cybertech Ninja (800/900) to defence mode and end my turn by playing a playing a face-down!Derek: I’ll activate Terraforming! This let’s me add my field spell The Sanctuary in the Sky to my hand! And I’ll activate it!Cade: Not so fast! I activate my face-down Mystical Space Typhoon which destroys your card!Derek: I thought you might do something like that. You know my deck and know that my monsters get their full power from spell The Sanctuary in the Sky, so that was a decoy!Cade: Huh?Derek: I’ll activate the effect of Zeradias, Herald of Heaven from my hand! By discarding him, I get another The Sanctuary in the Sky from my deck, which I’ll activate! A giant cloud sprouted from the ground, and behind Derek stood the ruins of a once magnificent building. Derek: You already know it’s effect, but I’ll refresh you in case you forgot! I don’t take battle damage when any of my fairy type monsters battle!Cade: I know!Derek: Now I’ll summon Dunames Dark Witch (1800/1050)! Airknight Parshath, attack his face-down monster! Light Mech – Cyber Scout Frog was chopped in two by Airknight Parshath’s blade. Derek: And my knight’s special ability does piercing damage to defence monsters! Cade grunted. Cade: So you get to draw another card…Derek: You’re catching on.Cade: My frog also has an ability.Derek: Huh?Cade: When he’s flipped, I can see your hand.Derek: I have no cards in my hand! Derek draws another card. Derek: And now, Dunames Dark Witch! Attack Light Mech – Cybertech Ninja! Cade’s ninja faded in a flash of light from Derek’s monster’s spell. Derek: Unfortunately, a monster summoned by the effect of Radiant Return is destroyed during the end of a turn it attacks. Airknight Parshath vanished in a flash of light. Derek: Your turn.Cade: (Alright, he’s only got one monster and an empty hand, if I draw something good now I might be able to get the advantage…) Cade drew. Cade: I’ll activate Painful Greed! By paying 3000 life points I can draw two cards! C: 4600D: 6700 Cade: Now I’ll summon Light Mech – Taigra! (1100/600) Attack his monster!Derek: Are you crazy? Dunames Dark Witch blew Cade’s monster away like a fly. C: 3900D: 6700 Cade: I’ll end my turn by playing a card face down! And my Light Mech – Taigra’s effect destroys any monster that battles with it at the end phase! An invisible claw scratched Dunames Dark Witch and she faded away. Derek: My turn! I draw! I’ll summon Shining Angel (1400/800) and attack you directly!Cade: I’ll activate my trap Fast Cogman! It summons itself to the field as a monster with 500 ATK and 1400 DEF in defence mode!Derek: I end my turn then! Cade: I’ll tribute Fast Cogman in order to summon Light Mech – Genkis! (1700/1400) Attack Shining Angel! The sleek machine quickly manoeuvred over to the angel and thrust it’s claw in it and destroyed it. Derek: Remember, I don’t take any damage because of my santauary/ When Shining Angel is destroyed in battle, I can summon a light monster with 1500 or less ATK from my deck in attack mode! I’ll summon Nova Summoner! (1400/800)Cade: My monster’s ability lets it attack twice in one turn! Attack his Nova Summoner! The machine smashed the monster aside with great force. Derek: My Nova Summoner’s effect is the same as Shining Angel’s, but with one exception! Because I have The Sanctuary in the Sky on the field, I can instead summon Airknight Parshath!Cade: Damn!Derek: Haha! They’ll just keep coming!Cade: I end my turn! Derek: I’ll activate Pot of Avarice! I take five monsters from my graveyard and shuffle them into my deck, and then I draw two cards! I’ll summon Freya, Spirit of Victory (100/100), when she’s on my field, all of my fairies get a 500 ATK and DEF boost, and you can’t attack her as long as I have another fairy. Now Airknight, attack his monster!Cade: I’ll activate the effect of my Cyber Kuriboh! By discarding him from my hand while a control a level 5 or higher machine monster, I don’t take any damage this turn and you can’t attack me!Derek: I end my turn!Cade: I’ll activate another Painful Greed! C: 900D: 6700 Cade: I’ll activate Mech Revival Factory! It let’s me add two Light Mechs from my graveyard to my hand! I’ll choose Light Mech - Tele-K and Light Mech – Cybertech Ninja! I’ll then summon Light Mech – Cybertech Ninja and I’ll tribute both my Light Mechs to special summon Heavy Mech – Rocket Punch! (2400/2200) His effect let’s me attack you directly for half the damage! The mechanical creature fired missiles at Derek causing a large explosion. C: 900D: 5600 Cade: I’ll end my turn!Derek: Wow! You’re getting really good! Derek drew a card. Derek: This duel won’t last much longer, because I have just drawn my deck’s best card. I’ll tribute Airknight Parshath in order to special summon Neo-Parshath, the Sky Paladin! (2300/2000) And because I have my Sanctuary out, he gains attack points equal to the difference between our life points when mine is higher! And don’t forget the boost he gets from Freya! (Neo-Parshath’s stats are now 7500/7200)Cade: No way!Derek: I could win right now, but I’ll give you one more turn. Show me what your new deck can do!Cade: OK! This is my last chance! Cade drew a card. Cade: I’ll switch my monster into defence mode, then I’ll play a face-down and end my turn!Derek: Is that all? My turn! Derek: Neo-Parshath! Attack his monster! And he inflicts piercing damage as well Cade!Cade: That’s why I’m activating Ring of Destruction!Derek: What!?Cade: It destroys your monster and we both take damage equal to his ATK!Derek: But it’ll still be a draw!Cade: Better than losing! A ring of grenades tied itself around Neo-Parshath’s head and detonated. The huge explosion knocked both players to the ground. Derek got up and walked over to Cade. “Great game mate!” said Derek cheerily.“Thanks” was all Cade could muster in a quiet voice, still laying on the ground.“Boo!” “A draw!?” “That sucks!” The crowd cried.“Now we just have to get out of this!” Said Derek, helping Cade up.“Thanks pal, let’s go home.”“Uh Cade, we still have the rest of school, and we didn’t manage to get any lunch.”The bell signalling the end of lunch rang.“Nooooo!” Wailed Cade.“But I’m hungry!” Cried Derek.“Get inside you ragamuffins!” Shouted one of the staff, and the crowd dispersed almost instantaneously. Lilrow
Yu-Gi-Oh! Ties That Bind: Episode 3: A Mysterious Stranger Cade was walking home from school with Derek, they approached the corner where they walked separate ways to get home. “See ya tomorrow.” Cade said wearily, it had been a tough day, and he hadn’t done too well on a test that he had ‘forgot’ to study for. “Hey Cade, wait a minute!” said Derek, suprising Cade. “I found something on the ground!” Derek picked up an object, half concealed by a leaf.“It’s a card.” Cade said, wanting to get home. “Wait a minute…” Cade inspected more closely. “That’s one of the cards that the a pro-duelist used in the world championship of 2004 used against my dad, they were dueling for the world title…”“Is it rare?” Asked Derek, his greed overcoming him.“Yeah… but, it’s a fake.”“Huh?” Replied Derek sounding disappointed.“There’s no holographic symbol in the corner, you know, the little shiny bit in the bottom right. It’s worthless.”“Man, people will fall for anything these days…” Derek said, tossing the card over his shoulder and pretending he hadn’t fallen for it. “Well, bye.”“Bye.” As Cade continued walking home, he couldn’t help remembering the fateful day when his father almost had become world champ. On the last turn he had a monster and a face-down, his opponent easily destroyed his monster and attacked him directly. He was famous for always using his face-downs to make a huge comeback, and everyone was sure he’d activate it. But he was defeated humiliatingly by his cocky opponent. To this day Cade had never asked him what the card was. If anyone brought up pro-dueling or anything related, he would get angry. He gave up being a pro-duelist that day. Suddenly, as Cade was walking past a park near his house, a cloaked man jumped out in front of him. “We will duel here, now.” He hissed.“No way! I don’t even know you and I wanna get home.” But as he tried the walk on, the man blocked his path. “Win, and you will get this.” He pulled out a card, and with a sick realisation, he saw it was the same one as the fake they had found. But it was real. “Are you…?” Cade asked warily.“Oh no, I am just… a mere weakling duelist. You shall defeat me easily.”“Well OK…” Cade said, and they walked to a clearing in the park. There was no one around. Cade took his duel disk out of his backpack and put it on.“Duel!” They shouted in unison. “I’ll start!” Shouted Cade, rather forcefully, he wanted to finish and get home as quickly as possible. C: 8000S: 8000 Cade: I’ll summon Light Mech – Zombie Cyborg! (300/500) Then I’ll tribute it to special summon Light Mech – Genkis! (1700/1400) I’ll also activate Mech Upgrage Armor! This equips my monster with hight tech gear and turns him into a Heavy Mech and gives him 500 ATK and DEF for every other Light Mech I have! I’ll also add Heavy Mech Energy Gun! I’ll explain his effect later, but for now, I’ll end my turn. Hand:C: 2S: 6 Stranger: I’ll set a monster and set a card. Hand:C: 3S: 4 Cade: I’ll summon Light Mech – Vendredon (900/300) and special summon Light Mech – Cyber Orca! (1600/1200) Vendredon gets 200 ATK for all of my Light Mechs! (1300/300) I’ll equip Vendredon with Electro Sword of the Light Mechs! This gives him 300 ATK and DEF for all Light Mechs I have, and as well as that, all of my Light Mechs get 200 ATK!Vendredon: 2100/900Orca: 1800/1200Now Light Mech – Cyber Orca, attack his monster! Light Mech – Cyber Orca shot his harpoon and destroyed the Stranger’s weak monster. Cade: (That thing was really weak! Only 800 defence and no effect!) And now I’ll attack you directly with both my monsters, and Genkis can attack twice! Both monsters heavily assaulted the stranger and almost knocked him down. Stranger: Impressive… C: 8000S: 2500 Cade: And now I’ll end my turn! Hand:C: 0S: 5 Stranger: I’ll set another monster, that’s all.Cade: (I’ll bet it’s another weak one.) Hand:C: 1S: 5 Cade: I’ll activate Mystical Space Typhoon, which destroys your spell or trap card! A blue typhoon appeared and a bolt of lightning shot out and exploded the stranger’s card. Cade: I’ll attack your monster with Light Mech – Vendredon! Vendredon stuck the monster down with his sword, and just as Cade suspected, it was a very weak monster. Cade: And now I’ll have Genkis attack you twice directly! End this duel! The Stranger remained calm, Cade could tell even with his face covered, as the monster ran and attacked him. “Thank you.” The Stranger said dully, and began to walk off.“Wait, what about the card?” Cade asked.“Here.” The Stranger said gruffly and tossed it on the ground. Just as Cade began to pick it up it burst into flames and was gone in a split second. “What…!?” Cade looked up but the mysterious man was gone. Not a single cinder of the card remained. Lilrow
Yu-Gi-Oh! Ties That Bind: Episode 4: Moving On Cade walked down the school steps and round the corner to meet Derek so they could walk home. As Cade turned the corner he saw Derek with a serious and slightly morbid expression on his face. “What’s wrong?” Cade asked.“Cade, I have something to tell you.” Usually when Derek did stuff like this he was building up to a joke and was kidding, but Cade could tell this time it was serious. “I’m… moving away.” Cade was in disbelief. It took him a few seconds to actually realise what Derek had said. “Away… away?” Cade said, standing motionless.“My dad’s got a new job in Domino City, we have to go because it’s the biggest opportunity in his life. I’m… sorry Cade.”“When… do you have to go?” It pained Cade to say these words.“My mum’s picking me up in a few minutes.”“WHAT!?” Cade almost screamed,”How could you not tell me earlier!?”“Because I knew it would be too hard! I’ve known you since reception, and I’m no good at goodbyes.” Derek said solemnly, bowing his head. “There’s something I want you to have, Cade.” Derek reached into his pocket and took out his best card, Neo-Parshath, the Sky Paladin. “That’s your main card though! Your deck won’t work without it!” Cade replied, shocked. “There’s a reason I’m giving you it Cade. I know that things are way more competitive at Domino City, and I’m getting a new deck there. It’s been ordered so it will be there when I arrive. Besides, this card will always be like a bond between us, even when we’re not together.” Derek’s mum’s car pulled up to the roadside. “Goodbye Cade.” Derek said, after handing him the card. He got into the car and it pulled away. Cade stood there for a few minutes, just not believing. It was only when he got cold he started to walk home. * Cade walked into the house quickly and precisely. He wanted to get up to his room and be alone and he didn’t want to bump into his parents. His mum caught him halfway up the stairs. “Honey, I heard what happened, I’m really sorry…” Cade walked on, ignoring her. On his bed there was some mail for him, he tossed it aside without even opening it and lay down on his bed to think. His life would never be the same again after that day. ___________________________________I know it's a short one, but I'll get another one out soon. Lilrow
Forenote: This ep contains no dueling, sorry. But the next few will contain A LOT._____________________________________________Yu-Gi-Oh! Ties That Bind: Episode 5: Dark Goings On After Derek had left, Cade had to find a new friend to hang around with. He was friends with other people in his school, but they all tended to stay in their own friendship groups, and he didn’t want to intrude or be an annoying tagalong. So one lunchtime he decided to sit next to Philip. He was in Cade’s class, and before Derek had left, Cade had never really noticed him. He was quiet and shy, so when Cade saw him sitting alone at lunch, he saw an opportunity. By the end of the day, he had earned his trust and friendship somewhat. “Hey Cade, do you wanna come over to my house after school?” Philip had asked Cade this question quite near the end of school, so Cade had little time to think it over. “Sure, why not?” was all Cade could remember saying. He had called his mum and she said it was fine, so at the end of the day, he headed off to Phil’s house along with Phil himself. As Cade stepped into Phil’s house, he felt a little uneasy. There had been an awkward silence on the walk, which Cade had attempted to break by asking Phil if he had done the homework, but then remembered they had none. So Cade thought. What if Phil was a weirdo? Had coming to his house been a big mistake? “You wanna go and play some Duel Monsters?” were the words Phil said that reassured Cade more than anything, he could almost always relax playing some friendly DM. “Sure!” Cade had replied enthusiastically (maybe a little too enthusiastically). Phil was just showing Cade his deck when his dad walked up into his room. “Dad, I thought you had a conference…” Phil had earlier explained to Cade that his mum had left a few years ago, and his dad, Graham, had to work a lot, so he was alone a lot of the time. “Philip, you have a… friend over?” the surprise in his voice made Philip flinch. “What’s your name?” Graham said, looking over to Cade, losing seemingly all interest in his son instantly. Cade saw the sad expression on Phil’s face in the corner of his eye, and felt his face warm up with anger. “I’m Cade. Cade Wittham.” Cade said, trying to mask his anger.“Well. Nice to meet you Cade.” Graham replied, with an almost mocking tone in his voice. “Philip, I will be in the study for the next hour or so. Do not disturb me at any cost.” Graham issued this command coldly to Phil before going back downstairs without a word. * Later, after they had played some Duel Monsters, Cade had needed the loo. So Philip told him where it was (downstairs, opposite the study) and he set off. After relieving himself, Cade heard some murmuring coming from the study. He listened in closer. It seemed Graham was talking to himself, but Cade couldn’t hear what he was saying. He peeked through the keyhole and saw Graham sitting at a table with some kind of board, but at that moment the bathroom door slammed behind him, and Graham came to see what the noise was. Cade ran upstairs and fortunately, was not caught. * It was late at night, and Mr McMarvio was closing up his game store. It had been a slow day, and not even Cade had come in. The tinkling noise of the door opening was heard, and a cloaked man entered. “I’m sorry, but the store is clo-” Mr McMarvio stopped mid-sentence when he saw the man. The stranger smiled from beaneath his cloak. “I’m not here to argue.” He walked up to the counter and picked up Mr McMarvio by the scruff of his neck. “I’m going to take every booster pack here, and your not going to do anything about it. I trust you remember what happened last time you defied us.” Mr McMarvio looked at the man’s wrist as his sleeve slipped down and saw the runic symbol. He knew resistance was futile and would just cause more trouble. Reluctantly Mr McMarvio said: “Take whatever you wish.”“I’m glad you remember, old man.” The cloaked figure relpied, letting go of him and going behind the counter. He picked up pack by pack, putting each into a bag under his cloak. When the man had finished, as he was leaving the store, he stopped for a minute. He whispered something in some foreign language and pressed the two first fingers of his right hand against a mark on his chest. He continued to walk out as a huge gust of wind bust into the store, seemingly from nowhere, and wrought havoc as Mr McMarvio looked on sadly. Lilrow
Yu-Gi-Oh! Ties That Bind: Episode 6: Let the Games Begin It was only by accident that Cade found the letter under his bed. He had dropped one of his cards, and as he was picking it up, he saw it in the corner of his eye. It had the Industrial Illusions logo stamped on it. It was then Cade remembered. After Derek had left, he had come home and carelessly tossed the letter aside without so much as a second glance. “It must be important to come from Industrial Illusions.” Cade thought. It was then that he realised what it might be. A few months ago he had entered a competition prize draw to go to a Duel Monsters tournament. The winner would receive a one-of-a-kind unique card and a box full of cards as well. He hastily opened it and it was what he had so dearly wished. He looked at the date and it was 4 days from now, he would’ve had a lot longer to prepare if he hadn’t tossed the letter aside that time. He ran downstairs to ask his mum whether he could go. * It was with a wide smile on his face that Cade arrived with parents in tow to the tournament. It was held in one of the largest duel domes in the country, and many thousands were attending. It wasn’t large enough to be aired live on TV, but Cade was thoroughly pleased nonetheless. Anyway, even if he didn’t win, all contestants got a prize, and they increased in value from runners up to the winner. Promptly on arrival to backstage (after leaving his parents in the front row seats), Cade was introduced to his opponent before being rushed to where he would be entering. He was facing a pasty skinned, slightly short, freckled boy. Cade didn’t want to be mean, but he didn’t look like much of a challenge to him. The announcer’s voice boomed over the audience: “AND NOW LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!” (The volume was turned down when many audience members starting covering their ears) “For the first duel of the tournament! Our first competitor! Cade Wittham!” Cade walked in from his entrance as blinding lights struck his face; it was hard not to blink. As he reached his side of the arena, the announcer continued: “Our second competitor! Daniel Gruntap!” The boy Cade had met just a few minutes earlier walked bewilderedly onto the arena. He was obviously befuddled by all the sudden attention on him. “Duelists start your duel disks! Start duel! We flipped a coin earlier and Cade won the toss, so he starts!” C: 8000D: 8000 Cade: I’ll summon Light Mech – Beastly! (1000/1000) And his effect powers up the ATK and DEF of all EARTH mechs by 600! Hand:C: 4D: 6 Dan: I’ll activate Energy Guiding Spear – Giltia! Which lets me special summon Guardian Giltia from my hand and equip him with it! (1850/1600) I’ll also set a monster card! Now my Guardian Giltia! Attack his Light Mech – Beastly!Cade: Not so fast! I’ll activate my trap Self-Destruct Defense Mechanism! It destroys both our monsters and then you take 1000 damage!Dan: I’ll activate my monster’s special ability! His spear can redirect your trap card’s effect to you Creepy Crawly! This means BOTH your monsters are destroyed, and you’ll take the damage! Cade groaned as both of his monsters exploded and his life points dropped by 1000. Dan: Now I’ll attack you directly with Giltia! The spear pierced Cade as he groaned once more. C: 5150D: 8000 Dan: I’ll set a card and end my turn! Hand:C: 5D: 2 Cade: I’ll start by playing Fissure! It destroys your face-up monster with the lowest ATK, and your monster doesn’t have anything else to shift the effect onto, so it’s destroyed! Giltia let out a roar of surprise as an earthquake ripped open the ground and he fell inside. Cade: I’ll now summon Light Mech – Maverick! And activate my spell card Dual Core Machine Factory! This means when he’s tributed, he counts as two tributes! So I’ll tribute him to special summon Heavy Mech – Faceless! (2700/2000) Attack his face-down monster! Whenever he attacks, I have to roll a die, and if I roll a 1, his attack is negated. A giant die fell from the ceiling and bounced until it landed on a 5. Cade: Yes! Now destroy his monster! A laser beam blade appeared from Cade’s monster’s place where a hand would be and sliced the face-down monster in two. Dan: You activated the flip effect of my Arsenal Summoner! I can add a card with Guardian in it’s name from my deck to my hand! I’ll choose Guardian Gerfelt! Cade: I’ll set a card and end my turn!Dan: Not so fast! I’ll activate my trap card Dust Tornado which destroys your face-down card! Hand:C: 0D: 4 Dan: I’ll activate Summon Summoner! I’m allowed to add a spell card to my hand that special summons a particular monster, and you’re allowed to draw two cards! I’ll then summon Guardian Gerfelt (0/0) by the effect of Unbreakable Iron Body – Gerfelt! It equips to him and gives him 1000 defense points! Plates of iron materialised and attached themselves to Gerfelt’s body like a jigsaw puzzle. (0/1000) Dan: I end my turn! Hand:D: 1C: 3 Cade: I’ll start by equipping Faceless with Heavy Mech Energy Gun! I’ll use it’s effect to remove from play three cards from my graveyard to give my monster 1200 extra ATK! (3500) I’ll now summon Light Mech – Cyber Orca! (1600/1200) I’ll attack your monster with Cyber Orca!Dan: My monster can’t be destroyed in battle!Cade: I know. Orca’s effect automatically destroys face-up defense postion monsters it attacks! Cyber Orca shot it’s harpoon at Gerfelt and pierced it’s armor, destroying it. Cade: Now Heavy Mech – Faceless! Direct Attack! The dice reappeared and rolled, it landed on a 3. Then the laser arm sliced through Dan causing massive damage. C: 5150D: 4500 Cade: And that’s all! The crowd were getting riled up. Cade could no longer hear his parents cheering him on. Hand:C: 1D: 2 Dan: I’ll activate Matter Splitting Knife – Æsahættr! [Pronounced Eshetter] Letting me summon Guardian Æsahættr (1400/300) from my hand and Matter Splitting Knife – Æsahættr also lets me draw 1 card! Also, my monster can attack directly! Go! The Guardian cut a hole in mid-air with the magical knife and walked through. He reappeared through a cut hole behind Cade and stabbed him with the knife. C: 3750D: 4500 Dan: Now I’ll set a card and end my turn! Hand:D: 0C: 2 Cade: I’ll activate Mystical Space Typhoon, which destroys your face-down card! Then I’ll summon Light Mech – Vendredon! Who gains 200 ATK for every Mech I control! (1500/300) I’ll remove another three cards from play for Energy Gun’s effect as well! Now my Cyber Orca, attack his monster! The huge harpoon obliterated the weak human. D: 4300 Cade: And now it’s Vendredon’s turn! The monster jumped up to Dan and punched him hard. D: 2800 Cade: For the final attack, go Faceless! The die bounced and rolled, and Cade’s heart beat fast, but it eventually landed on a 6. Cade: Yes! Now go my monster!Dan: No! The monster melodramatically ran up and sliced it’s laser sword through Dan. D: 0 “And the winner of the first round is Cade Wittham!” Boomed the announcer’s voice over the arena. “I made it.” Thought Cade. _________________Side note: Æsahættr is the subtle knife from Philip pullman's His Dark Materials._________________Custom cards (from now on I won't put all of them here):Find info on non-custom cards at: Yu-Gi-Oh!
