Jesus
Solemn Judgement or Royal Decree. Which is better, and why. Be sure to include logic within your posts. Discuss.
Guest Star
Is logic even needed for this thread? I mean, seriously, Solemn Judgment lets you negate any card you want to. Royal Decree is a Continuous Trap that can be destroyed easily and only negates Traps. Solemn Judgment is much better than Royal Decree.
Jesus
We all know that. The only reason I posted this is because this idiot on my forums is screaming on and on about how Royal Decree is way better then Solemn. I want to prove him wrong via the logic of these forums. CrabHelmet
It depends on the format. In slower formats, Solemn's Life Point cost becomes a larger burden, since you aren't constantly faced with the choice between blocking an arbitrary action and losing the entire duel instantly. In this format, however, Solemn is better, simply because everyone is constantly forced to make that choice. Royal Decree is not going to stop the opponent's Dark Armed Dragon. Mr. Judgment Dragon
At this stage, I would say Solemn greatly outdoes Royal Decree. Decree is too vulnerable and in that vulnerability, it wont last long enough to be effective enough. Solemn stops virtually everything. Basically you either lose 4000 Life Points (assuming 8000 Life Points) or lose the duel. I say it would be better to lose 4000 Life Points than 8000 for sure. All purpose negation is good in addition to not losing the duel. Slower formats on the other hand Decree could be a better choice since Solemn's huge Life Point costs really add up in the long run stopping you from paying important Life Point costs such as an Instant Fusion leading to a Synchro Summon or Monarch Tribute Summon (via Instant Fusion) potentially costing you the duel. Solemn is obviously better in this meta, Decree is just a Jinzo with no ATK points =P
Tsuki ni Mau Majin
Solemn negates anything.Decree negates Traps.Who wins? Solemn Logic > You Solemn Judgment is indeed superior to Royal Decree. It's much faster' date=' at a spell speed of 3, is chainable, and negates Royal Decree. Solemn Judgement also allows, with a heavy cost, the defeat of huge monsters, especially considering we'll soon have to deal with Stardust Dragon Buster. Royal Decree is: a Jinzo with no ATK points The only difference is that Jinzo is better. :P
Skuldur
Solemn is better in a fast format like this but Decree is better in a slow format.
werewolfjedi
you only need decree in a Horus lock-down deck, and even then you might still be packing a solemn or two. speed dictates solemn.
