For OCG is it gaining ATK or Increasing ATK? and is it Direct damage or damage to your opponents Life Points?

Best way for this is an example:

 

Increase the ATK of all Spellcaster-Type monsters on your side of the field by 500 points. For each Spellcaster-Type monster affected by this card's effect, inflict 500 damage to your opponent's Life Points.

 

You can actually use Direct Damage, as that is the old way. It's entirely up to you, but people prefer the newer method these days. If you still want to though, it's not wrong, so it would look like this:

 

...inflict 500 points of Direct Damage to your opponent's Life Points.
