How do I splice with Gimp???

it's not easy,no tuts for it so far but just use MSPaint to do it because it's faster and easier.

when i do Mspaint it comes up with black background.........

where did you download the sprite?

did you save as .png?if not then you should,or you can download all the sprites+extra forms all at once here but you need WinRar or some other extractor to use them.
