Synchronized
I've returned! You guys can celebrate later, because today is a big day! Today, I'm going to post The Bash! However, *inb4flaming*, I'm going to post shortened episodes of the episodes leading up to The Bash. Why, you ask? I've been away a lot recently, and now that I'm home I'd like to get The Bash posted. I don't want to skip the other episodes, though, so I'm just going to post shortened versions. Seriously though, please don't complain about the shortened episodes this time, because I've barely been home with being out, looking for a job, and doing some other things, so I apologize. The Bash will be posted Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 12:30 AM. I hope you enjoy the read, and be sure to check out the shortened episodes because I'm sure they'll be helpful toward the story as a whole. Tonight will be no different. Tonight, the world's greatest superstars will be put to the test as they compete in incredible matches. This is World Wrestling Entertainment! This is The Bash! WWE Legacy™ Presents: The Bash! The live crowd goes absolutely wild as red, white, and blue fireworks explode across the stage in a barrage of color and light. The cameras show the entire crowd, and thousands of fans are on their feet, excited to see the next Pay-Per-View Event! "Ladies and gentlemen welcome to The Bash! This is Good Ol' J.R. Jim Ross alongside Michael Cole and Matt Striker, and we are live in Toronto, Ontario Canada in the Sky Dome!" "Thanks for joining us ladies and gentlemen! The crowd is excited and we haven't even started yet! What a night this is gonna be!" "Certainly tonight's show is going to be huge! We've got five Championship Matches, plus two other blockbuster matches! Thank you ladies and gentlemen for tuning in here tonight!" Shelton Benjamin Tons of boos fill the arena as "The Gold Standard" emerges on the stage. He's wearing a pair of blue and white wrestling tights and a pair of white wrestling boots. The ECW Championship is around his waist, and the fans boo as he walks past them. "I can't think of a better match on the card to open the show with, guys. Both Shelton Benjamin and Devon Immortal are great athletes, and as they've proven over the past few weeks, the ECW Championship is equally important to both of them." "Many people have said that Shelton Benjamin is the best pure athlete in WWE today, and - for the most part - I agree with them. He capitalized on an opportunity by jumping ship over to ECW, and ever since he's been doing extremely well." "Shelton Benjamin is a Former Intercontinental, United States, and WWE Tag Team Champion, and now he's finally a World Champion. Benjamin continues to improve inside the squared circle, and this match tonight will be no exception." Devon Immortal Devon Immortal enters the arena to major heat. There is a look of confidence on his almost-emotionless face. He walks to the ring, not paying any attention to the fans who show their opinions of him through boos. "Shelton Benjamin has the experience factor in this match, but Devon Immortal is a Former World Heavyweight Champion. He's only nineteen years old, meaning that he's the youngest World Champion in Wrestling History. This kid has what it takes to win here tonight, and he may do so." "Devon Immortal has made an impact on Tuesday Nights on ECW, and he's looking to make an impact tonight in his first Pay-Per-View Match since Backlash. I think Benjamin's determined to keep the Gold, though, and that determination might pay off." "It may not seem like they have an intense rivalry, but trust me, these two are going to give each other everything they've got and more." First Match: Shelton Benjamin vs. Devon Immortal [ECW Championship] Match: The crowd boos as the bell rings; they don't like either of these guys, and they wanted to see someone like Mark Henry competing for the ECW Championship. Still, a lot of them know that it will be a good match. Benjamin hits a quick Right Hand, looking to gain the advantage. He Irish Whips Immortal off the ropes, but the Former World Heavyweight Champion responds with a knee to the chest. He hits a couple of blows to the back before Dropkicking Benjamin's knees, taking The Gold Standard to the mat. The crowd boos as Immortal rebounds off the ropes and hits a Sitting Dropkick. Hooks the leg..."1! 2!" Benjamin kicks out. Immortal gets him to his feet and tries to Irish Whip him into the corner, but Benjamin reverses it, getting an Irish Whip of his own. He runs...STINGER SPLASH! The move gets a small pop and Immortal stumbles out of the corner. Benjamin grabs him...goes for a T-Bone Suplex! No! Immortal counters it with an elbow to the side of the head. Benjamin goes for a Dropkick and Immortal grabs his leg. DRAGON WHIP! This move gets a small pop as well. Immortal falls to the mat and Benjamin does the same. "I'm surprised; we're only three minutes into this thing and these guys have already worn each other out. What a contest this is going to be." "I can't stress enough the respect I have for both of these superstars. Not so much their actions, but their in-ring ability is just awe-inspiring." "The fans don't really like either of these guys, as you can probably tell, but even they know what kind of talent both Benjamin and Immortal have." Benjamin crawls to the cover..."1! 2!" Immortal rolls the shoulder up. Both superstars get to their feet and Benjamin ducks a Right Hand. He goes for Paydirt, but Immortal pushes him into the ropes! Immortal goes for a German Suplex, but wow! Benjamin lands on his feet! What a reversal! Benjamin with a German Suplex of his own! The crowd cheers as Benjamin measures Immortal up, looking to hit Paydirt. Immortal staggers to his feet...can he get it this time? No! Again Immortal blocks it! Benjamin off the ropes...DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE! Both superstars were thinking the same thing! "1! 2! 3! 4!" The Referee begins to count as both superstars are down. If he reaches "10!", the match will end in a draw and Benjamin will retain the ECW Championship. "5!" Immortal pulls himself to his feet using the ropes, and the Referee stops counting. Immortal stomps Benjamin's leg, before walking around his body and stomping him all around, shades of Randy Orton, his former mentor. "Devon Immortal showing some of the skills he learned as Randy Orton's protege. Similar to Orton, Immortal's attitude isn't exactly great, but his wrestling ability is." "You can definitely see the resemblence, and hey, what works, works. Randy Orton is a Former World Heavyweight Champion in his own right, and before Immortal won the Title, Orton was the youngest World Champion in Wrestling History." "If this keeps up, neither one of these guys is going to be able to earn a victory here." Immortal grabs Benjamin's right leg and stomps the back of his knee four times. He wraps his arms around Benjamin's leg and turns him over, pulling backwards to apply a Half Boston Crab. Signs of pain are noticeable on Benjamin's face as Immortal pulls him to the center of the ring, keeping the hold applied and preventing the ECW Champion from reaching the ropes. "Tap!" Immortal yells. Benjamin refuses when the Referee asks him if he wants to quit, and that only seems to frustrate Immortal. The crowd claps, trying to get behind Benjamin as they'd rather see him win than Immortal. He slowly crawls toward the bottom rope, and just as he is about to reach it, Immortal pulls him back to the center of the ring. Gathering all of his strength, Benjamin pushes on the mat, and uses his legs to push Immortal forward and out of the ring, breaking the hold and receiving a huge pop from the crowd. "Wow! If that's not determination, then I don't know what is! Shelton Benjamin just showed amazing strength right there by breaking out of that hold! Incredible move!" "That's part of the reason Shelton Benjamin is the ECW Champion; he earned the Title even though he cashed in on an opportunistic moment to get the Title Match." "There are some people who doubt Benjamin as a Champion after he needed help from Brownlee to win at Extreme Rules, but a victory here tonight might change the minds of those people." "1!...2!...3!" Immortal gets to his feet on the outside thanks to some help from the security barricade. Benjamin rebounds off the ropes...SUICIDE DIVE THROUGH THE SECOND ROPE! The Gold Standard takes Immortal - and himself - down in an amazing aerial display! "1!...2!...3!" The Referee begins counting once more, but this time counting out both superstars as neither of them are in the ring. Benjamin and Immortal lay on the mat in great pain after going through such a difficult match. "4!...5!" Benjamin gets to his knees, and rolls into the ring, having a little trouble doing so. "6!...7!...8!" Immortal stands and walks toward the ring. "9!" He jumps in at the last second! Benjamin hits an elbow to the back of the neck...pulls him toward the center...hooks the leg "1! 2! Three--no!" Immortal just barely gets the shoulder up! Benjamin looks up in disbelief; what else is it going to take? "I'm nearly speechless here, guys! This is one of the most competitive matches I've ever had the honor of calling!" "I agree one-hundred percent, J.R.! This match has completely exceeded my expectations, and they were pretty high to begin with!" "For those of you that don't watch ECW on Tuesday Nights, this is the kind of stuff you're missing out on!" Shelton Benjamin - looking to capitalize - climbs to the top rope. He waits for a moment as Immortal gets to his feet...Benjamin leaps! DIVING CROSS-BODY! "1! 2! Three--no!" Somehow, someway, Immortal holds on! Benjamin goes for a Clothesline, but Immortal ducks it! LEG LARIAT! We're gonna crown a new Champion! Hooks the leg..."1! 2! Three--Benjamin gets his foot on the bottom rope!" This match is still going! "ECW" chants begin to fill the arena as both superstars get to their feet. Immortal Irish Whips Benjamin into the corner. He goes for a Corner Clothesline and--connects! Benjamin stumbles out of the corner and Immortal with the kick to the chest! Goes for The Immortal Technique! If he connects it's done! No! Benjamin with a Back Body Drop! Immortal rolls to his feet, tries a Clothesline, Benjamin ducks and--PAYDIRT! Hooks the legs! "1! 2! 3!" Winner [and still the ECW Champion]: Shelton Benjamin "Ladies and gentlemen, I cannot stress this enough! What a great match between these two exceptional athletes!" "Shelton Benjamin has just proved anyone who doubted him wrong! He's deserving of that Championship, and after a victory like this I expect him to hold on to it for a while!" "After an exciting Main Event Caliber Match, we're gonna get ready for the first Raw Match of the evening! After winning their respective matches last week on Raw, The Rated-R Superstar Edge prepares to meet The Heart Break Kid Shawn Michaels in the match to end their huge rivalry and find out who will challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions!" Edge “You Think You Know Me?” blasts on the P/A, and it is followed with lyrics - the crowd boos as Edge walks out through the curtain of smoke, appearing on stage. He fashions his leather overcoat, with new black & red pants. He smiles and laughs at the crowd. Slowly, he makes his way down the ramp. A couple metres away from the stage, he stops and taunts the crowd, throwing both hands in the air, with only his index & pinky in the air; setting his stage pyros off. He runs and slides into the ring and taunts on the ropes as the crowd boos louder. Edge gets up, and climbs the turnbuckle, taunting the crowd again with his hand gesture. "Well ladies and gentlemen this is a rivalry that has been - for lack of a better word - intense. It all started back at Judgment Day when Shawn Michaels made a return after a near three month absence and helped Jeff Hardy become the World Heavyweight Champion. Michaels and Edge squared off in a Last Man Standing Match at Extreme Rules, and we thought that would be the end to their incredible rivalry." "Everyone had expected that to be it, but Shawn Michaels and Edge are gonna go at it one more time here tonight in a match with a lot at stake. The winner of this match will go to Night of Champions to compete for the World Heavyweight Championship." "Both Edge and Shawn Michaels are legendary athletes, and there's no doubt in my mind that both of them are Future Hall of Fames. However, only one of them can win tonight, and I for one am interested to see who it's going to be." Shawn Michaels The level of excitement in the arena multiplies as “Sexy Boy” begins to play and The Heart Break Kid bursts into the arena. The entire crowd stands in a show of respect as Shawn Michaels makes his way down the ramp. He stops in the center of the ramp and drops to his knees before extending his arms to his sides as fireworks explode across the ramp. Michaels puts his hands together and looks to the sky in a moment of prayer before getting to his feet and high-fiving a bunch of fans before entering the ring. "I've never in my life seen an athlete quite as exciting as Shawn Michaels! For nearly twenty years The Heart Break Kid has entertained the WWE Universe, and there's no doubt in my mind that he's going to do just that here tonight." "The Heart Break Kid has earned this opportunity, and as he said this past Monday on Raw, he never actually lost the World Heavyweight Championship. For those of you who don't remember, Shawn Michaels was injured back in January, and therefore was stripped of the Title. If he can defeat Edge tonight, Shawn Michaels will go to Night of Champions to compete for the World Heavyweight Championship, something many people feel he should be doing here tonight." Shawn Micheals and Edge circle in the center of the ring, The Rated-R Superstar and the Heart Break Kid. Edge and Micheals lock up. Edge forces Micheals back into the corner and the Referee starts to count. 1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. Edge breaks the hold and backs away with his hands in the air, as the Referee admonishes him. Micheals flys out of the corner with rights and lefts, Micheals connects with a chest-reddening chop! And another! Edge staggers back to the center of the ring. Micheals takes a double-leg takedown! Figure-Four Leg-Lock! Micheals has the Figure-Four! Shades of Nature Boy Ric Flair! And Edge is in trouble! Edge howls in pain, and sits up in the hold to the best of his abilities, he tries to drag himself to the ropes, but gets nowhere, so he begins to turn onto his back. Micheals struggles to resist Edge turning over but finally, Edge manages to turn, and Micheals writhes in pain. Ace Diamond at ringside starts to rally the crowd with “HBK” chants, and it seems to have the effect he was hoping for as Micheals crawls to the ropes and the referee begins to count. "This crowd is firmly behind Shawn Micheals, but is that going to be enough for him to get back in this match?" "Shawn Micheals needs to take advantage here if at all possible." "Well that's an obvious one Micheal. But right you are Shawn needs to start gaining ground here or Edge has this on ice." Once again Edge waits till 4 to relinquish the pressure on Micheals and break the hold. Micheals rolls from the ring in pain and falls to the mat below holding his leg in pain. Edge is quick to follow him, to the outside and stomp away on the leg of Micheals. One! The Referee starts his count! Ace Diamond moves toward Edge, and the Rated-R Superstar tells him to back off. Two! Seemingly seeing reason, and not wanting to get Shawn Disqualified, Ace backs away. Three! While Edge is busy with Ace, Shawn gets to his feet. Four! Edge turns around and takes another Chop, before Micheals attempts to slam his head against the Ring-post. Edge blocks it and counters by ramming Micheals' head into the post, and again. Five! Edge rolls back into the ring and breaks the referee's count, before leaving and stomping away on Micheals again. While Ace Diamond looks on helplessly. "There's nothing Ace can do here, Shawn Micheals is being brutally dismantled here and all Ace can do is watch!" One! "Well they call Edge the Ultimate Oppertunist and this is a great opportunity here, first to take out Shawn Micheals, and second to send a message to this kid Ace Diamond!" Edge picks Micheals up and throws him back first into the Barricade. Two! Edge Moves over to the barricade and delivers a series of right hands to the face of The Main Event. Three! Edge backs away and Micheals staggers forward. Spear! Spear! No! Micheals side-steps and Edge flies over the barricade! "Looks like those fans got more then they paid for here!" Four! Micheals is quick to follow over the barricade and take a right and from Edge, who throws him back into the ring-side area, and back into the ring. Edge follows Micheals back into the ring, Flying Forearm! Micheals kips up and moves to the top rope. Elbow Drop! Edge moves! the Ultimate Oppertunist Edge, waiting to uncoil and strike with a spear! Micheals gets slowly to his feet. "Don't turn around Shawn..." Edge runs, Micheals moves Spear to the Referee! "SPEAR SPEAR SPEAR! Edge just Speared the Referee right out of his boots!" Edge lays on the ground trying to catch his breath, this great match has taken a toll on both men. Micheals stands In the corner, an begins to tap his foot. One! Two! Three! The fans count as Micheals tunes up the band. Micheals begins to move from the corner. Wait! Ace Diamond pulls Micheals from the ring, with one hand. Steel chair in the other. BOOM! The chair crashes into Micheals' Skull leaving him unconcious as Ace throws the fallen star back into the ring. The Referee's coming to! Edge with the cover! 1...2...3! Winner [and the Number One Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship]: Edge The crowd, and commentators alike are speechless, as Ace Diamond leaves the arena and Edge celebrates his win. "What? I...I'm trying to understand what just transpired here, but from what I can tell, Ace Diamond just turned on The Showstopper. That devastating chair shot to the skull was all it took to put an end to this awesome match." "I don't believe what we've just seen here. Ace Diamond grew up a life-long fan of Shawn Michaels, and now he just cost Shawn Michaels one of the biggest matches of his career. Why, Ace?" "I'm a little shocked at what just happened, but I do know that because of this victory Edge will go to Night of Champions to face either Jeff Hardy or The Miz for the World Heavyweight Championship. We'll find out who Hardy's opponent will be later on tonight." Kofi Kingston The crowd pops and the excitement level in the arena multiplies as The Jamican Superstar makes his way into the arena, sporting his newly acquired WWE Intercontinental Championship Belt. He high-fives a bunch of fans as he makes his way to the ring. ”In my honest opinion, this is one of the best matches on the card here tonight. I’m not just saying that because it’s a Smackdown Match, but rather because it’s a match between three incredible athletes over a Championship that a year ago seemed meaningless. Many athletes have worked hard to restore honor to the Intercontinental Championship, and I’m sure this match will demonstrate that here tonight.” ”I know what you mean, J.R. Back in 2008, the Intercontinental Championship seemed unimportant, but thanks to people like Edge, it’s now one of the most prestigious Championships in the industry.” ”So far we’ve seen three incredibly athletic contests here tonight, and I have a feeling that this one will be just as good – if not better – than most of them.” The Brian Kendrick “Man With A Plan” plays throughout the arena and the crowd begins to boo. The Brian Kendrick – one of Smackdown’s up-and-coming young superstars – enters the arena. He dances on the ramp, wearing a black leather jacket that matches his black wrestling tights and boots. He makes his way to the ring, mocking some fans as they reach out for high-fives. ”I have a feeling that Kendrick is going to win this match here tonight. Back when Kendrick was competing on ECW, he came extremely close to capturing the ECW Championship." "Kendrick is a unique, high-flying athlete with a lot of skill. He may be arrogant, but Kendrick has picked up victories over Kofi Kingston and Zachariah Graves respectively, meaning that he really is the favorite in this match." Zachariah Graves Boos fill the arena as Zachariah Graves enters it. He walks down the ramp, looking confident and refusing some high-fives from excited fans. He steps into the ring and climbs to the second turnbuckle before taunting the crowd. "This kid Zachariah Graves is only nineteen years old. He's an exceptional athlete, but he's yet to win a match on Smackdown. He made an impact in his first Smackdown appearance by laying out the Intercontinental Champion, but last week he was pinned by Kofi Kingston, and the week before that he was pinned by The Brian Kendrick. Things aren't going so well for him right now." "That may be true J.R., but think of the opportunity he has here. If he can win this match, he'll become the youngest superstar to hold the Intercontinental Championship in WWE History. That's quite an accomplishment." Third Match: Kofi Kingston vs. The Brian Kendrick vs. Zachariah Graves [WWE Intercontinental Championship] Match: The bell rings and the crowd gets solely behind Kofi Kingston as The Jamaican Superstar stands in the corner, continually shifting his gaze from one opponent to the other one. Kendrick and Graves look at each other and nod, knowing that they'll have a better chance of winning if they take out the Champion first. Looking to put that plan into action, they go for a Double Clothesline, but Kingston ducks it to a small pop. He fires a few Right Hands at Kendrick before turning around to hit his other opponent. Zachariah goes for a Right Hand of his own, but Kingston ducks it and Kendrick gets decked instead. Kofi hits a Dropkick on Zachariah, sending him through the second rope and to the floor below. He taunts the crowd in the center of the ring, now full of momentum after getting the early advantage on both of his opponents. "Talk about impressive right there! Kofi Kingston getting a great start to this contest by taking out both of his opponents and showing why he is the Intercontinental Champion!" "Whatever game plan Zachariah Graves and The Brian Kendrick tried there didn't work out, and they're going to need to recalculate their strategy if either of them wants to win this thing." Still taking things from the double team approach, Kendrick and Zachariah climb the ring apron from opposite sides of the ring, trying to intimidate Kofi. It ultimately pays off as The Jamaican Athlete hits Kendrick with an elbow, sending him back to the floor, and runs into a Big Boot from Zachariah Graves. The crowd boos as he taunts over Kingston, having nearly left a boot mark on the face of the Intercontinental Champion with that kick. Hooks the leg..."1! 2!" Kofi kicks out and the crowd cheers! Forearm to the face from Zachariah Graves, taking Kingston right back to the mat. Cover again..."1! 2!" And another near fall from the new superstar! Getting Kofi to his feet, Zachariah Irish Whips him into the ropes and goes for a Back Body Drop. Kofi - in an amazing display of athleticism - leaps over Zachariah and hits a Leaping Reverse Neckbreaker! Hooks the leg! "1! 2! Three--no!" Kendrick saves the match! Kendrick hits a kick to the side of the head before throwing Kofi out of the ring. Kendrick tries a cover on Zachariah..."1! 2!" Kick-out! "There's the opportunistic sense of The Brian Kendrick. He waited until there was an opening, and he tried to capitalize on it. Unfortunately for Kendrick, Zachariah Graves had the strength to kick out." Kendrick goes for The Kendrick, looking to end the match while Kofi's still on the outside...BACK DROP! from Zachariah! The power game comes into play and Kendrick takes the pain! Zachariah to the outside...goes for a Springboard Elbow but misses as Kendrick barely rolls out of the way! Kendrick hits a Hook Kick, straight to the face! Hooks both legs..."1! 2! Three--no!" Zachariah kicks out again! After a second of arguing with the Referee, Kendrick gets back into the action going for a Leg Drop, but Zachariah dodges it and gets a Backslide Pin! "1! 2! " Kendrick rolls out of it! Goes for a Clothesline...FLAPJACK SLAM! from the Smackdown newcomer! Bridge Pin from Zachariah..."1! 2!" WAIT! Kofi Kingston from out of nowhere with a Springboard Leg Drop right to the chest! "Kofi" chants begin to fill the arena as the Intercontinental Champion gets to his feet and trades shots with Kendrick as the Leg Drop might have been the end of Zachariah Graves' participation in this match. "What a match this has been so far; outstanding effort from all three competitors, especially the Champion himself." "Good God who can win this thing?!" Kendrick goes for a Clothesline, but Kofi ducks it! Jamaican Chop! And another one! Scoop Slam! Kofi Kingston is in complete control! Kofi off the ropes...BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Leg Drop! No! Kendrick rolls out of the way! Kofi rolls to his feet...goes for Trouble in Paradise! Wait! Kendrick ducks it! Kick to the chest...HITS THE KENDRICK! Zachariah Graves slowly gets to his feet as Kendrick goes for the cover...Zachariah pulls him off of Kofi...GRAVEYARD LAW CONNECTS! Hooks the legs..."1! 2! 3!" Winner [and the new WWE Intercontinental Champion]: Zachariah Graves "What a match! All of these men deserve a standing ovation after a performance like that!" "Zachariah Graves picks up a huge win and becomes the youngest Intercontinental Champion in WWE History! Truly a great effort from all three competitors!" Ted DiBiase DiBiase entered the arena brimming with confidence. Orton and JBL followed him out, supporting him. Ted walked down the ramp, high fiving the fans and sliding into the ring. Layfield and Orton stood at ringside with Ted taunted on top of the turnbuckle, gaining momentum. Kurt Angle The Olympic Gold Medalist entered, accompanied by the United Nations. Kurt walked down the ramp, holding up his gold medal. He stepped into the ring and glared at Ted DiBiase, then JBL and Randy. He taunted, and the volume of the crowd increased, the heat intense. Match: Ted DiBiase, Jr. vs. Kurt Angle [Lumberjack Match] DiBiase charged at Angle, who grabbed Ted in a headlock. Angle lifted Ted up and took him down with a suplex. Angle grabbed Ted’s arm and wrenched it around, and tossed him overhead. The crowd booed. Angle tossed Ted out of the ring. Kozlov and Khali began the attack, hammering at the head of DiBiase. JBL clotheslined Khali, and they began to brawl. Orton attacked Kozlov, hitting a backbreaker. Ted slid into the ring, where Kurt began stomping rapidly. Angle grabbed Ted’s leg and locked in an Ankle Lock. Ted grabbed the rope, but Kurt wouldn’t let go. The Referee began the 5-count. Kurt released Ted at four and argued with the referee. While Kurt and the ref argued, Khali grabbed Ted’s head and slammed it into the side of the ring. ”What a dirty move from the United Nations!” Ted stood, dazed. Kurt ran at Ted, who rounded up some energy and pulled the rope down. Kurt flew out of the ring. Randy Orton took out Khali and went to attack Kurt, launching knees. Kozlov and Finlay approached but got attacked by JBL. Orton finally brought Kurt to his feet, brushed him off in a comedic manner, and tossed him into the ring. Ted launched a barrage, with fist drops and a few hard stomps. He rebounded off the opposite ropes and came running. He kicked Kurt in the head, brought him up and locked in a headlock. He twisted Kurt around and hit a neckbreaker. ”What a comeback from Ted DiBiase!” Ted grinned and knelt over Angle, unleashing punches into his skull. Ted finished the assault with an elbow. He stood and looked into the crowd. They cheered frantically, and broke out in a chant. “TOP ROPE, TOP ROPE, TOP ROPE!” Ted grinned and ran to the nearest turnbuckle. He stepped onto the top rope and the audience broke out, with a big pop. DiBiase launched off for a frog splash, but Kurt rolled away. He climbed the turnbuckle himself. He stopped, as the Referee was checking on DiBiase, who seemed to have hurt his arm. Orton decided to use this distraction. Orton climbed the steel steps behind Kurt. Angle turned around to Orton, who reached for an RKO. The Gold Medalist tossed Randy into JBL, toppling them over. Ted stood and Kurt leapt, taking his opposition down. He went for a pin, but DiBiase kicked out at two. ”Man, what a match! Back and forth, coming with great attacks.” ”You’re right! It’s so exciting.” Kurt stood and DiBiase rolled out of the ring. Standing in front of him was Finlay. Finlay glared at DiBiase and did nothing. Orton and JBL stood to the right, watching but doing nothing. The same was for Khali and Kozlov, although they were to the left. Kurt looked at Finlay and was yelling. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING? ATTACK HIM!” Kurt looked at the Fighting Irishman like he was insane, not paying attention to DiBiase while he rolled into the ring. DiBiase delivered a kick to the midsection of Angle and backed him into a corner, delivering more kicks. The referee went to count Ted, but he stopped. He ran at Kurt and delivered a high knee and bulldog. Kurt rolled onto his stomach. He sat up and grabbed the nearest ropes. He pulled himself up. Ted rebounded off the ropes on the opposite side of the ring and front flipped at Angle, but everyone in amazement. Kurt reacted fast and powerbombed DiBiase. ”WOAH! Did you see that!?” ”I don’t know what to say! That was just amazing!” Kurt and DiBiase lay at the side of the ring. Kurt placed his head on the bottom rope. Finlay walked over to Kurt and glared at him. He picked up his shillelagh, which was next to the steel steps. DiBiase stood, but from his facial expression, you could tell his back was in pain. Finlay and Ted glared at eachother, then at Kurt Angle. Finlay swung his shillelagh, but not at Ted—at Kurt. The entire arena popped, and Finlay walked backstage. Kurt shook, in pain and shock. DiBiase took advantage of the moment and hit Dream Street. That had to be it! ”Did Finlay just attack Kurt Angle? Did a member of the United Nations just assault the leader?” ”Don’t adjust your television sets! Finlay did just attack Kurt Angle with that shillelagh!” Ted hooked the leg of the leader of the United Nations. 1…2…3! It was over! Winner: Ted DiBiase ~Ted DiBiase defeated Kurt Angle in a Lumberjack Match after Randy Orton hit an RKO on Angle while the Referee was distracted. Orton left after the match ended, and didn't stand around to celebrate with the rest of the "team". "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, the World Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Hardy!" The crowd goes insane as The Extreme Enigma appears on the TitanTron next to Todd Grisham. "Hardy" chants begin to fill the arena almost instantly and the World Champion smiles. "Jeff, in just over an hour you have to go out to the ring and defend that World Championship against well, maybe not the strongest of competitors, The Miz." The crowd boos. They know that The Miz doesn't deserve to be competing for the World Title, and that it should be Shawn Michaels. "Now, I have two questions for you. The first one; this past Monday on Raw The Miz pinned you after hitting you with his finishing move, The Reality Check. Has that loss affected your concentration going into tonight's match?" "Todd I'm not gonna pretend it didn't happen; The Miz got lucky and hit me with the move, and he did score a three count. However, that hasn't affected me in the slightest. Because just like that match on Raw, The Miz won the WWE Scramble Match by pure luck." The crowd chants. "I don't believe in luck, Todd. I believe in skill, ability, whatever you wanna call it! The point is, tonight I'm going to go out there and teach The Miz what it's like to play in the big leagues." "My other question is, earlier tonight Edge defeated Shawn Michaels and because of that victory, he'll be going to Night of Champions to face either you or The Miz for the World Heavyweight Championship. You and Edge know each other very well, and the two of you have battled in rivalries in the past. Do you think you could defeat Edge at Night of Champions?" "Back in May, after I pinned Edge in the center of that ring...!" The crowd pops huge. "After I pinned Edge, he attacked me and put me out of action for almost a month. I returned in time for Judgment Day because I knew that I could win the World Championship. Even in that match, Edge tried to screw me out of the Title, but he failed there too. Edge, if it's one final blowout match to our near ten-year feud, then that's what you're going to get, because tonight I'm gonna beat The Miz, and in four weeks at Night of Champions I'm gonna beat you!" SO I'LL GIVE YOU A QUICK RESULT. ~Rachel Delta defeated Amber Wattkins and Maryse in a Triple Threat Match to become the new WWE Divas Champion after hitting a Brainbuster Suplex on Maryse. As those words blare through the arena one has to wonder if it is indeed Gregory “Hurricane” Helms' time, the young star emerges on the ramp to a huge pop, high-fives tonnes of fans as he walks down to the ring, and gets yet another pop as he climbs to the top turnbuckle and taunts to the crowd. Chris Jericho The World Heavywieght Champion walks down the ramp with a smug and serious look on his face, perhaps he's worried about Helms, or maybe, he doubts his own physical readiness after going through that classic match with CM Punk on Smackdown. Sixth Match: Gregory Helms vs. Chris Jericho [WWE Championship] Match: Jericho enters the ring and Helms wastes no time in taking it to the jaded World Champion, with a flurry of rights and lefts, then a kick to the knee, and another, another Helms comes off the ropes Hero Attack! Jericho gets to his feet quickly and attempts a clothesline, Helms ducks it, Reverse Neckbreaker! Cover! 1...No! "Wow! I didn't know what to expect from Gregory Helms here, but he's really taking it to the champion, this could be his night!" "Only time will tell, but right now Helms is in the driver's seat!" Jericho gets to his feet, and calls for a test of strength, Helms – Perhaps a little foolishly, agrees, and moves in, as soon as the two lock up, Jericho hits a kick to the mid-section of Helms, then a slap to the face. "Come on! That's just blatant disrespect on the part of Jericho!" "He's getting inside his oppnent's head Micheal it's a smart move on the part of Jericho." Helms moves back a look of pure rage on his face. Jericho hits him with a hard right hand, and another, the Champion whips his opponent into the corner, Y2J himself moves into the corner, Triangle Dropkick! Jericho pulls a fallen Helms to the top rope and looks for a Superplex, but Helms hits a hard right hand, a second, a third, Helms grabs Jericho by the neck, Swinging Neckbreaker from the top rope! The crowd goes nuts! "Absolutely incredible move! Helms is showing us all that he has what it takes!" "And after something like that this match has to be over, Helms just needs to make the cover!" Helms crawls to the pin, slowly. 1!...2...3 – wait! Just in the knick of time Y2J kicks out! "Talk about being too close for comfort, Jericho must have just seen his life flash before his eyes!" Helms starts to argue with the referee, claiming “That was three!” meanwhile Jericho starts to undo a turnbuckle cover, and gets spotted by the referee, who runs over to re-tie the cover, Jericho hits a low blow!, the referee doesn't see it! "Oh come on! What happened to sportsmanship!?" "As if Jericho cares about sportsmanship; He'll stop at nothing to retain his title! Some times you've got to do what it takes to win, legal or not! Cover! 1...2 No! Helms kicks out! An irate Chris Jericho starts to stomp away at Helms back, before attempting the walls of Jericho, Helms struggles against the hold but Jericho gets it locked in. "Walls of Jericho! It's just a matter of time now, 'till Chris Jericho retains his World title! Helms starts to drag himself to the ropes, but Jericho pulls him back into the center of the ring, and sinches the hold in tighter! The crowd starts to chant “Let's go Helms!” trying to get their man back into the match, but seemingly to no avail as he screams in agony. "This crowd is firmly behind Helms, but perhaps it's too little too late, I can't understand how Helms hasn't tapped out yet quite frankly!" "Some times when the lights are on bright you open up reserves of energy you never knew you had, but even with that in mind, I think Helms is just about done here!" This continues for about another minute, before Helms starts to turn onto his back, Jericho struggles to maintain the hold, but he can't, Helms rolls onto his back and manages to boot Jericho in the face! Helms gets to his feet before Jericho somehow! Helms off the ropes! Shining Wizard! The crowd is on their feet! As Helms calls for the Huri-Chokeslam! "I can't believe it! Helms is gonna do it here!" "Gregory helms is about 5 seconds away from winning his first World Championship!" The crowd gives more of an explosion then a pop as Jericho stands, and is grabbed around the throat, and continues as Helms gives a thumbs-up to the fans! Jericho's up! Counter! Codebreaker! The crowd gives UNBELIVABLE heat as Jericho connects with a Codebreaker! Cover! 1...2...3! "I can't believe it! Chris Jericho seemed like he was done, but he came back and hit that massive Codebreaker for the win!" "Jericho was done! That was instinct, nothing more then veteran instinct!" Jericho rolls from the ring and collects his belt, a battered World Champion smiles broadly as he walks backwards up the ramp, leaving Helms in the ring in disbelief. "Gregory Helms may not have won that match, but he d*mn sure gave more than one-hundred percent!" CM Punk The crowd pops, slightly confused, as The Straightedge Superstar enters the arena. Gregory Helms gets to his feet, tired from such a great match and gives a puzzled yet somewhat understanding look to the Former WWE Champion. Punk high-fives a few fans as he makes his way to the ring. "As far as I know, CM Punk is not scheduled to compete tonight. As a matter of fact, Triple H gave him a few weeks off after his match with Chris Jericho on Smackdown three weeks ago. I wonder what Punk's doing out here now." "I'm not sure, but I do know that CM Punk and Gregory Helms have been friends for a while, so maybe Punk's coming out here to make sure Helms is okay." Punk climbs the ring steps and enters the ring. He smiles as he extends his hand and Gregory Helms shakes it. Punk pats him on the back and raises his arm in the center of the ring. The crowd gives Helms a standing ovation after he showed great effort in his first ever World Title Match. Punk pats him on the shoulder again and turns to leave the ring before grabbing Helms. He lifts him on his shoulders...GTS! What the? Why did CM Punk just hit the Go 2 Sleep on Gregory Helms? The crowd begins to boo as Punk stands in the center of the ring and stares at Helms in disgust. "What in the world? CM Punk just hit that GTS on Gregory Helms. I have no idea why Punk would do something like that." "Gregory Helms just fought in one of the toughest matches of his career and this is what he gets for it? Why in the world did CM Punk just do that?" Punk leaves the arena to boos as medics come out to check on Gregory Helms. "Well ladies and gentlemen, we've had a great night here at The Bash, and we've still got one match left! Argueably the biggest match of the night, Jeff Hardy defends the World Heavyweight Championship against The Self-Proclaimed "Chick Magnet" The Miz." "Three weeks ago, The Miz won a WWE Scramble Match thanks to what some would call some unintentional assistance from Kane, and Miz went on to pin Jeff Hardy this past Monday on Raw in a Tag Team Match. Despite the fact that both of The Miz's victories have been lucky, he does - in the eyes of many - have Jeff Hardy's number." "I've always been a fan of The Miz, even when he was a competitor on ECW. He can talk the talk, and most of the time he can walk the walk." The Miz The crowd boos as The Miz enters the arena. The Chick Magnet strides confidently to the ring, making mocking faces at a couple of disappointed fans in the front row. The fans respond with boos, but The Miz shakes them off and smiles before entering the ring. He climbs the turnbuckle and crosses his arms on his chest before raising them in the air and taunting as the crowd continues to boo. Jeff Hardy The crowd jumps to their feet, screaming, cheering, and jeering for none-other than Jeff Hardy! Hardy runs out onto the stage to receive another loud pop, and stops in the center of the stage. The World Heavyweight Championship Belt around his waist shines brightly as he taunts for the crowd. He begins doing his dancing, flipping his arms back and forth, causing the pyros on his sides to go off. After a moment, Hardy proceeds down the ramp, and meets the ring apron. Hardy jumps up on the steps, and taunts the crowd with his index & middle finger extended on both hands, both arms out to the side. "What an ovation for the World Heavyweight Champion!" "Jeff Hardy is more popular than pretty much any superstar in the entire WWE, and I think that's something he's earned. As much as I like The Miz, I'd rather see Jeff Hardy win this match because I think he deserves the victory." Main Event Match: The Miz vs. Jeff Hardy [World Heavyweight Championship] Match: "Hardy" chants begin to fill the arena like crazy and they seem to annoy The Miz, who's determined to become the World Heavyweight Champion and win the first singles Title of his career. The two lock-up in the center of the ring and Miz hits a cheap shot kick on Hardy, taking him to his knees. Miz rebounds off the ropes and knees Hardy in the face. He taunts for a moment and the crowd boos. Miz tries a quick cover...can he win early? "1! 2!" Hardy kicks out! Seemingly furious, Miz begins to hammer away with Right Hands, but the Referee yells at him and begins to count. "1! 2! 3! 4!" Miz breaks it up reluctantly. "Hardy" chants begin to fill the arena once more as the crowd tries to will The Extreme Enigma to his feet. Miz yells "who's lucky now?!" and the crowd responds with a lot of heat. He pulls Hardy to his feet and slams his head into the turnbuckle. He tries it again, but Hardy blocks it and elbows him in the chest. WHISPER IN THE WIND OUT OF NOWHERE! Hardy gets a huge pop as he hooks the leg! "1! 2! Three--no!" "My God how close was that! Jeff Hardy was literally a second away from retaining the World Championship!" "The Miz was in complete control and Jeff Hardy turned it around with one huge move! You've gotta wonder how much energy Jeff has left after hitting a move like that, though." Hardy Irish Whips Miz into the ropes and goes for a Back Body Drop, but gets a boot in the face for his troubles. Miz tries a Suplex, but The Extreme Enigma blocks it and hits a Facebuster Suplex! Hardy goes to the second rope...Diving Leg Drop?! No! Miz rolls out of the way! Hardy grabs his back in pain after missing the move and Miz rolls to his feet. Kick to the chest! Miz hooks the inside leg! "1! 2! Three--no!" Hardy kicks out! Hardy kicks out! Miz yells at the Referee; he was sure he had the victory, but the Referee will have none of it. Hardy gets a Roll-Up! "1! 2! Three--no!" Miz stares at Hardy in disbelief as his arguing with the Referee nearly cost him the match. Miz goes for a Clothesline, but The World's Champion ducks it and hits a Dropkick, sending The Chick Magnet to the floor outside. "I am amazed at Jeff Hardy's will to compete here. He's taking everything The Miz throws at him and hitting The Miz twice as hard. What a great competitor." "The Miz is down on the outside! Jeff Hardy's got the momentum here! This could be over!" The crowd pops huge as Jeff Hardy climbs to the top rope. He looks to the outside and smiles as The Miz gets to his feet. He leaps--DIVING CROSSBODY! What a move! Both men are down on the outside and the Referee begins to count! "1!" Hardy pulls himself to his feet using the security barricade, but struggles while doing so. "2! 3!" Hardy grabs The Miz and throws him into the ring. He climbs to the ring apron, but Miz elbows him in the face. OH MY GOD! Hardy falls off the ring apron and his head smashes into the ring steps. The crowd watches in shock, as they're not sure if Hardy is okay. "His--Hardy's head just bounced off those ring steps! I can't even tell if the World Heavyweight Champion is conscious!" "4!" The Miz, realizes that Hardy is nearly unconscious. He exits the ring and pulls a lifeless Hardy to his feet before sliding him into the ring. Hardy tries to stand, but falls to his knees. The crowd boos as Miz rebounds off the ropes---REALITY CHECK! Not this way! Hooks the legs! "1! 2! 3!" Winner [and the new World Heavyweight Champion]: The Miz "You've gotta be kidding me!" The Miz just pinned Jeff Hardy and became the World Heavyweight Champion!" It's extremely hard to hear anything in the arena as the crowd boos like crazy. Miz celebrates with the World Heavyweight Championship Belt while the Referee checks on an unconscious Jeff Hardy. "Jeff Hardy was knocked out cold from hitting the ring steps, and The Miz capitalized on that. It looks like Jeff Hardy needs some Medical Assistance!" The Miz stands over a fallen Hardy and yells at him, saying "Who's the Champion now?!" The crowd continues to boo and The Miz continues to celebrate. GONG! The lights go out and the crowd pops huge. They come back on, and Miz is still in the ring, but he looks nervous. GONG! They go out a second time. The Undertaker Purple smoke begins to fill the arena and the lights come back on, but they're now purple. The Undertaker enters the arena to a standing ovation, one of the loudest pops in WWE History. "Oh my God! It's him! It's The Undertaker!" "The Miz doesn't believe what he's seeing here!" "If I were The Miz, I'd get out of the ring now." Miz tries to exit the ring, but a bolt of lightning strikes the ringside area and he quickly steps back into it. The crowd continues to cheer as The Deadman reaches the ring steps. He climbs the steps and enters the ring while a look of fear lines the face of the new World Heavyweight Champion. With nothing to do but try and fight, The Miz tries to hit The Undertaker with the World Heavyweight Championship Belt. He fails, and gets dropped with a Chokeslam. The crowd pops huge as The Undertaker signals for the Tombstone Piledriver and follows up with it seconds later. He kneels down over a fallen Miz and sticks out his tongue as he looks up to the sky. "Ladies and gentlemen, I think a message has been sent here tonight, and you can be sure that The Miz has received it loud and clear." "Thanks for watching, and we'll see you tomorrow night on Raw!"
