Synchronized
[spoiler=Raw - February 23, 2009]The show opens without Opening Music and Shane McMahon appears on the TitanTron. “Good evening everyone and welcome to Monday Night Raw. As many of you know, my name is Shane McMahon. Last Friday on Smackdown, it was announced that The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels would be facing fifteen members of the ECW Roster in an Elimination Handicap Match. Now, that match will still take place, but I have made a slight modification to it. Tonight, Shawn Michaels will participate in a Gauntlet Challenge. He will face one superstar at a time until he defeats all fifteen superstars, or is defeated himself. If Shawn Michaels loses that match, he will be permanently fired from World Wrestling Entertainment. Now, there are a few more announcements I have to make. Next week on Raw, we will begin announcing the Wrestlemania 25 Match Card. So I thought it would be fitting if we had a few last-minute Title Matches before Wrestlemania 25.” This gets a huge pop from the crowd. “That being said, for one night only, the Talent Exchange will be reactivated, and four Title Matches will take place tonight on Raw. The WWE United States Champion, Striker Boyd, will defend the Title against the man he was supposed to face at No Way Out, Finlay, in a Belfast Brawl Match.” Five minutes into the show and already a great match is made. I was really glad this match was announced, as Finlay never fails to disappoint in a Belfast Brawl. With the rivalry these two have been building, this match should be pure gold. “The WWE Tag Team Champions, The Hardys, will defend their Titles against Mike Knox and Snitsky.” Not such a fan of this one, but I had expected it. A repeat of the Title Match from two weeks ago on Raw. “The WWE Intercontinental Champion, Chandler Emerald, will defend the Title against Edge!.” Now this one, on the other hand, should be great. Sure, it happened at No Way Out, but it was too short of a match to see how these guys work in the ring. “And finally, the World Heavyweight Champion, Kane, will defend the Title against the one, the only..” Stone Cold Steve Austin theme ”My god it’s Stone Cold!” ”Austin just interrupted Shane McMahon!” Austin enters the arena to a huge ovation as he drives down the ramp in his blue pick-up truck. He stops at the end of the ramp, exits the truck, and enters the ring before getting a microphone. “Hold on just lemme stop you right there, Shane. Before you go on ahead and make a World Heavyweight Championship Match, let me tell you what I had in mind. Ya see, I was thinkin’ that it’s better if we wait until Wrestlemania 25 to have ourselves a World Heavyweight Championship Match.” “What?” chant. “See, there are so many superstars that want this opportunity, so I say we give some of them a chance.” “What?” chant. “Well, Steve, what exactly did you have in mind?” “What?” chant. “What I was thinkin’ is that, at Wrestlemania 25, we have a Fatal-Four Way Match for the World Heavyweight Championship! As you know, Jeff Hardy won the Royal Rumble, and has chosen to compete for the World Heavyweight Championship in the Main Event of Wrestlemania. What that means is, we’ll have Kane versus Jeff Hardy versus two other competitors!” “Hardy” chants begin to fill the arena. The fans boo as the former World Heavyweight Champion enters the arena. No sign of Orton. Immortal stands on the stage with a microphone. He looks up at Shane, and then straight at Austin. “I have the answer to your problem. Well, at least part of it. Why don’t you name me the third competitor in the Fatal-Four Way Match at Wrestlemania? I mean, I’m a former World Heavyweight Champion; I think I deserve it.” “Remind me when the last time was that you won a match.” The crowd cheers as Austin looks at Immortal, looking for an answer. “Okay, so maybe I haven’t been doing well as of late, but I think I deserve another shot.” Batista theme The Animal’s music hits and seconds later, he enters the arena to a massive amount of cheers. He looks at Immortal for a moment then walks down the ramp and enters the ring. He walks past Austin and climbs to the top turnbuckle before taunting for the fans. He steps down and gets a microphone. “Sorry to interrupt, but I thought I’d come out and join the party.” “Batista” chants can be heard throughout the arena. I’ll admit, I’m not fond of this guy as World Champion, but it’s awesome to see him back on TV after being inactive for a while. “Look, Austin, Shane, I don’t care who I have to face, what I have to do, I just want to go to Wrestlemania and earn myself a World Championship Match.” Shane McMahon begins to speak. “You know what? I’ve got an answer to this issue. Next week on Raw, Batista will go one-on-one with Devon Immortal, and the winner will go on to Wrestlemania to compete in the Main Event Match for the World Heavyweight Championship.” “That’s all well and good, Shane, but that still leaves an open spot.” Austin looks around the arena. “Not to worry, I’ll figure something out. Enjoy tonight’s show, everyone.” ”Welcome to Raw everyone, I’m Michael Cole alongside Jerry “The King” Lawler, and talk about a way to start the show. Huge announcements courtesy of Shane McMahon.” ”I gotta agree here, Cole. Three Championship Matches and a Handicap Gauntlet Match? Tonight’s going to be huge!” Commercial break Chandler Emerald theme Chandler received plenty of cheers from the crowd. He holds up his title belt on stage and lets it slide down his arm and it lays on his shoulder. Emerald walks down the ramp and into the ring. He holds up his title and turns to the stage as fog rises. Edge theme The Rated-R Superstar received heat as he stepped through the curtain. He ran down the ramp and into the ring. He held up his arms and turned to Chandler, hoping to earn the Intercontinental Championship back. Match: Chandler Emerald vs. Edge [intercontinental Championship] Chandler came running. He punched Edge in the head several times, then turned and ran towards the rope, bouncing of them for momentum. He hit a flying forearm and then going for a quick pin. Edge kicked out at one. Edge stood and Emerald took him down with a superkick. Edge used the ropes to pull himself up. Chandler went for a Springboard Phoenix Splash, but Edge slid out of the way and Emerald landed face-first on the mat. ”What a hard impact! You could probably hear that all the way up in the rafters!” *Commercial Break* Edge kicked Chandler in the chest. He Irish whipped Emerald into the corner. He walked over to the turnbuckle and stepped on the second rope. He punched Emerald several times and then jumped backwards, hitting a facebuster. Edge hit a spinning wheel kick and then pinned Chandler, who kicked out at two. ”Edge is in complete control, King.” Edge slid out of the ring and grabbed the title belt. He slid back in and went to hit Chandler, but the referee took it. While the ref handed off the title, I noticed Edge low blow Emerald. Edge went to the opposite corner. Chandler stood and receieved a Spear. Edge pinned Chandler. Winner: Edge [New Intercontinental Champion] ”You gotta me kidding me! Come on! Does Edge always have to cheat to win? Raw was just screwed out of the Intercontinental Championship!” ”They don’t call him The Ultimate Opportunist for nothing, Cole. Still, it’s disappointing.” ”Chandler Emerald put up a fight, but that Low Blow had to have a big effect on him. And even if he could have survived the Low Blow, that Spear got the job done for sure.” ”Well, it was a great match, regardless of who won.” *Commercial Break* We’re back after a really exciting Championship Match to get the show started. Still to come tonight, the 15-Man Gauntlet Match that will determine the fate of Shawn Michalels’ career. I can’t wait to see how that match turns out, especially because I have some predictions for it already. A bell rings. “The following contest is a Money in the Bank Qualifying Match! The winner will earn a spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at Wrestlemania!” Christian theme Huge ovation for Christian as he enters the arena. I guess they decided to scrap the Christian going for the WWE Championship idea and have him be in Money in the Bank instead. I could be wrong, though, as he could end up losing this match. ”Welcome back to Raw, and just before the break, we crowned a new Intercontinental Champion, in Edge.” ”That means the Intercontinental Championship is once again a Smackdown Belt.” Mark Henry theme The World’s Strongest Man is greeted with boos as he enters the arena. He doesn’t let it bother him, though, and he just walks to the ring. ”Uh-oh. Christian’s gotta get through Mark Henry if he wants to make it to Wrestlemania.” Second Match: Christian vs. Mark Henry [Money in the Bank Qualifier] Match: Christian sizes up his opponent, looking for the best way to strike. He tries to hit Henry with a Right Hand, but Henry will have none of it, grabbing his hand and sending him crashing into the mat with a Headbutt. Christian rolls to his feet, and runs toward Henry, but runs right into Henry’s massive forearm, falling right back to the mat. Henry picks Christian up and throws him right into the corner. Henry connects with some Shoulder Thrusts, before turning to look at the crowd. He turns around and goes for a Right Hand to the face, but Christian ducks it and Dropkicks him into the turnbuckle. Christian connects with a Falling DDT, goes for a quick cover, but to no avail as Henry kicks out at two. Christian sits up and puts his hands to his head, obviously hoping to pull a fast one on Henry. Christian goes for a Standing Knee Drop, but Henry moves out of the way. Bouncing off the ropes for momentum, Christian goes for a Flying Clothesline, but Henry quickly picks him up and hits a Flapjack into the ropes. Christian bounces right off the ropes and falls to the mat. ”Did you see the force behind that move? Henry probably knocked all the wind out of Christian!” ”You can’t take too many moves like that and expect to get up!” Henry bounces off the ropes and goes for a Big Splash, but Christian moves out of the way with a split second remaining before the move connects. Christian Dropkicks Henry, who is on all fours after missing the move and stopping himself from hitting the mat, in the side. Christian quickly takes to the air and connects with a Flying Headbutt. Christian goes for the cover, but Henry kicks out at two. Henry picks up Christian and Irish Whips him into the corner. Henry runs and nails him with a Corner Clothesline, causing him to collapse to the mat. Henry gets Christian to his feet and goes for a World’s Strongest Slam, but Christian nails Henry with some Elbows to the side of the head. Henry drops Christian, who quickly slides through Henry’s legs, hooks Henry’s arms, and connects with the Killswitch! Cover! 1! 2! 3! And Christian wins it! Winner: Christian ”He did it! Christian’s going to Wrestlemania!” ”Christian will join Lord Smith, Evan Bourne, and five other competitors at Wrestlemania 25 in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match!” ”That was a competitive, not to mention enjoyable, match.” ”Speaking of competitive, still to come tonight, Finlay takes on Striker “Yank” Boyd in a Belfast Brawl for the WWE United States Championship! Let’s take you back to No Way Out, when this feud really escalated into something personal!” One week ago.. As Emerald exits the ring, Finlay appears on the TitanTron. He is laying lifeless on the ground. There are medics checking on him. Emerald quickly rushes to the back, soon appearing on the TitanTron himself. The medics inform him that Finlay is unconscious, and unable to compete. Therefore, it looks like we’ll be going straight to the Main Event, which is Randy Orton versus Kane. Commercial break He’s high-flying. He’s extreme! And now, he’s going to Wrestlemania! Catch Evan Bourne every Tuesday night on ECW! Live on Sci-Fi! ”We’re back live, and it’s time for the Belfast Brawl!” ”I’ve been waitin’ all night for this one!” Finlay theme Huge pop for The Fighting Irishman as he and his son Hornswoggle enter the arena. They walk down the ramp and Finlay high-fives some fans while Hornswoggle throws an inflatable hammer into the crowd. Needless to say, this match is going to be great. Both competitors have unique fighting styles, and they’ve been building this rivalry for a while. I wouldn’t be surprised if the United States Championship changed hands tonight. Boyd enters the arena and the boos begin almost instantly. Personally, I think this guy is much better as a heel, but I’m sure there are some that would disagree. Boyd walks down the ramp and enters the ring. He hands the United States Title to the Referee and hits Finlay with a Cheap Shot Right Hand to the face. ”What? Boyd with that cheap shot to Finlay!” ”I for one am not surprised. Boyd has become a changed man as of late. He went from fighting with honor and respect to fighting with viciousness.” Third Match: Finlay vs. Striker “Yank” Boyd [belfast Brawl Match] [united States Championship] Match: Boyd gets right on the assault, nailing Finlay with some vicious Right Hands to the face. The Referee tells him to stop, but there’s no disqualification in a Belfast Brawl, so there’s nothing the Referee can do about it. Boyd picks Finlay up and Knees him in the chest before driving his head into the mat with a powerful DDT. Boyd goes for a cover, but Finlay kicks out at two. Finlay starts to get up, but Boyd Knees him in the side of the head. Boyd raises his arms in the air, taunting, and gets major heat. He goes for a cover, but again, Finlay escapes the three count. Boyd, once again, gets Finlay to his feet. Boyd with some Right Hands, backing Finlay into the corner. Boyd hits Finlay with an Elbow to the side of the head, followed by another one. Boyd turns around to taunt, and when he turns back around, Finlay nails him with a Left Hand to the face. Boyd falls straight down to the mat. Finlay slides out of the ring and lifts up the ring apron. ”Here we go! It’s weapon time!” ”Finlay’s looking under that ring for somethin’!” Finlay pulls out a Trash Can Lid and throws it in the ring. He also takes out a Stop Sign. The fans cheer as Finlay slides back into the ring with the Stop Sign. He stands near Boyd, who slowly gets to his feet. Boyd stands up, and Finlay bashes the Stop Sign over his head. Boyd, on possible momentum, gets right back up, only to be clocked with the Stop Sign again. Finlay goes for the cover! 1! 2! Oh but Boyd gets his foot on the bottom rope. Hornswoggle bangs on the ring apron to give his father support, and the crowd joins in on the support with some “Finlay” chants. Finlay hits the United States Champ with a Scoop Slam, followed by a Diving Leg Splash. Finlay with another cover! 1! 2! And another kick-out! Finlay looks around in desperation. He Irish Whips Boyd against the ropes, and goes for a Back Body Drop, but Boyd knees him in the face. Boyd connects with a Suplex. Boyd picks up the Trash Can lid and hits Finlay in the back with it multiple times. The crowd boos as Boyd exits the ring and gets a table. He sets it up inside the ring. Boyd picks Finlay up, and goes for a Powerbomb right in front of the table! But wait! Finlay with the Back Body Drop! Boyd goes crashing through the table! Huge pop for Finlay as he slowly crawls to the cover! 1! 2! This could do it! No! Boyd just makes the kick-out! ”What?! Boyd kicked out!” ”I thought that was gonna be it for sure!” ”Talk about competitive! Both of these men are giving it everything they’ve got and more!” Both superstars get to their feet and exchange Blows, with Finlay getting the better of the two. Hornswoggle slides the Shillelagh in the ring, and Finlay picks it up. Finlay measures Boyd, waiting to hit him with the Shillelagh. Suddenly, The Miz runs down to ringside and throws Hornswoggle into the security barrier to major heat. Finlay exits the ring to attack Miz, who starts to retreat up the ramp. Finlay checks on his son, and Miz runs and attacks him from behind. Miz throws him head-first into the ring post before throwing him back in the ring. Boyd quickly capitalizes, nailing Finlay with the Strikeout for the victory. Winner: Striker “Yank” Boyd ”This is ridiculous! The Miz comes out, attacks Hornswoggle, and then costs Finlay the match-up.” ”I wonder what the deal is between Miz and Boyd.” Commercial break Mike Knox theme The lights flashed a faded red and Mike Knox, along with Snitsky walked through the curtain. They taunted, holding their arms up on stage. The crowd gave them some heat as they began down the ramp. I’m pretty sure The Hardyz have finally met their match. They stepped into the ring and Knox made this ugly and crazy face. He faced the stage as the lights flashed blue and purple—and the fans went wild. The Hardys theme Jeff and Matt entered the RAW Arena, ready to put their tag team titles on the line. They held up their gold and began walking down the ramp. Jeff pulled his Immune to Fear shirt off and handed it to a young girl in the front row and she hugged him. Jeff slid into the ring and Matt stepped in. Jeff jumped onto the turnbuckle and threw his hands out while Matt stood on the ropes and held up his title. The Hardyz have quite a challenge on their hands. Match: Mike Knox and Snitsky vs. The Hardyz [WWE Tag Team Championship] Snitsky and Matt started. Matt came running and hit some jabs with his left hands. To me, it didn’t look like Snitsky felt anything. Snitsky hooked Matt and he fell to the canvas. Matt stood and kicked Snitsky in the ankle. He hit some chops and then backed Snitsky into a corner. He walked to the other side of the ring. He ran forward and hit a baseball slide, making Snitsky fall into the canvas. ”Matt Hardy is dealing some damage to Snitsky.” Jeff jumped into the ring and pulled Snitsky up the brothers tossed Snitsky into the corner. Matt knelt and Jeff went to the opposite side of the ring. He ran forward and jumped off Matt, going for Poetry in Motion. What I didn’t realize was Matt made a tag as his brother jumped off of his back. Snitsky knelt and Hardy went head first into the steel post. Matt stood and went towards Snitsky, but Snitsky connected with a Big Boot, and Hardy rolls out of the ring. *Commercial Break* When RAW came back on, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy were back up. Jeff was in the ring, receiving some punches from Knox, who Snitsky had tagged in. Mike Clotheslined Jeff. Hardy jumped back up and Knox body slammed him. Jeff jumped up again and went towards Mike. Mike side stepped and Hardy knocked out the referee. Matt then grinned and jumped down from the apron. He grabbed a chair. Jeff dropkicked Knox and Matt placed the chair between the ropes, in a Coast 2 Coast style. Matt slid into the ring and knelt. I couldn’t believe what happened next. Jeff hit Poetry in Motion on the chair, which smashed Knox’s face in. Jeff tossed the chair down and the ref came to. Jeff tagged in Matt. Matt hit a Twist of Fate. He covers Mike, but Snitsky breaks the pin. Wait a second….Randy Orton is coming down the ramp! Jeff leaps of the apron and takes down Randy. Matt turns back to Knox, who takes him down with a Sit-Down Spinebuster and covered Matt for the victory. Winners [and the new WWE Tag Team Champions]: Snitsky and Mike Knox Jeff runs back into the ring as Knox and Snitsky jump out of the ring. Jeff checks on Matt. He stands and turns around, only to receive an RKO from the Legend Killer. ”What the h*ll?! For the second week in a row, Randy Orton has delivered an RKO to Jeff Hardy!” ”Randy Orton is obviously disappointed, or should I say jealous, of the fact that Jeff Hardy will be competing for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania.” ”That’s the only reasonable answer, to be quite honest.” Kane theme A burst of fire explodes onto the ramp as the World Heavyweight Champion enters the arena. ”Oh no! Here comes The Big Red Machine!” ”Orton should get out of there while he has the chance to!” Kane makes his way to the ring and Orton backs up to the other side of the ring. Kane drops his Title Belt and moves toward Orton. Kane grabs Orton by the throat, but Orton pokes him in the eye, and Kane lets go. Orton hits Kane with a Low Blow Kick, and Kane falls to his knees. Orton backs up and goes for a Punt, but in a manner similar to at No Way Out, Kane gets up before he connects and grabs him by the throat. Kane drives Orton into the mat with a Chokeslam before taunting in the ring as his pyro explodes. ”Kane sending a message to The Legend Killer!” ”Orton has been unable to hit Kane with that Punt. Even if he were able to, something tells me Kane might be able to get up after that. After all, they don’t call him The Big Red Machine for nothing.” Interesting segment, if you ask me. The Tag Titles changed hands, like I expected them to, Orton attacked Hardy again, and Kane came out and took Orton down. It should be interesting to find out who else will participate in the Main Event of Wrestlemania. Commercial break We’re back live, and it’s time for the biggest match of the evening. A fifteen-man Gauntlet Match with Shawn Michaels’ career on the line. ”Welcome back to Raw. In just moments, Shawn Michaels is going to put his career at stake in a fifteen-man Gauntlet Match. But before that happens, let’s take you back to when this all began, at No Way Out.” No Way Out – February 15, 2009 Shawn Michaels theme It seems J.R. was wrong, and that we’re actually going to get things started with Shawn Michaels. We know that the fans, and the superstars themselves, have wanted answers from Shawn Michaels for weeks, but he hasn’t given them anything. HBK enters the arena to a flurry of boos. He doesn’t do his usual kneeling/praying/fireworks scene. Instead, he just walks to the ring, seemingly emotionless. The Augusta crowd continues to boo him as he gets a microphone. ”Contrary to what Jim Ross said moments ago, it seems like we’re going to start things off with The Heart Break Kid himself, Shawn Michaels. And Shawn Michaels has become a different man as of late.” ”Yes. He has been assaulting superstars, and seemingly assisting Randy Orton. I think everybody deserves answers.” “Alright, look. I’m not happy about having to come out here and do this, but I’m not happy in the slightest about my actions as of late. Now I understand that all of you are mad at me, as it is with good reason. I’m not proud of what I had to do, but I did it to protect myself.” ”To protect himself? What is Shawn talking about?” ”I have no idea, King. I’m pretty sure Shawn is going to explain it, though.” “You see, a couple of weeks ago, I had returned, but I was staying backstage, because I wasn’t medically cleared to wrestle yet. During this time, and a little before that, I had become accustomed to using, say, illegal substances. In other words, I had started using steroids.” The crowd continues to boo Michaels, who is obviously struggling emotionally as he speaks. “Now, Randy Orton had somehow discovered this. He came to me and told me that unless I helped him become the World Heavyweight Champion, he was going to report me to the authorities.” ”Wait a minute? So Orton was blackmailing Shawn Michaels?” ”It looks that way. That’s just despicable.” ”Indeed it is. But you know Randy Orton; he’ll do whatever it takes to get what he wants.” “But you know what? I’m tired of having to suffer by doing whatever it is Randy Orton wants me to do. I’m Shawn Michaels! I’m The Heartbreak Kid! I’m nobody’s b*tch!” Suddenly, “HBK” chants are started, and they quickly fill the arena as the crowd shows their support for Michaels, who has obviously been going through a troubled time as of late. “I made the decision to stop using the substances after Randy Orton found out, but that didn’t stop him. He still threatened to report me. But now I’ve got but one thing to say. Randy! Report me if you want to! H*ll, I’ll report myself!” Michaels furiously unbuttons his shirt, takes it off, and throws it on the ground. He gets right up on the ropes. “Randy! I’ve had enough of your crap! Why don’t you get out here right now so I can kick your teeth down your throat!” ”It seems Shawn Michaels has reached a breaking point of sorts. He couldn’t handle “working”, if you will, for Randy Orton anymore!” ”Good for Shawn! I hope Randy Orton gets what’s coming to him tonight!” The crowd, and Michaels, turn their attention toward the TitanTron, awaiting Randy Orton’s arrival. The lights go out, and the arena becomes pitch black. Cheering can be heard in the background. A spotlight appears on the stage, and The Deadman himself, not Big Evil, is standing on the stage. He stares at HBK, and doesn’t move his eyes for a second. He rolls his eyes back, and a bolt of lightning strikes the ring post. Shawn Michaels stands in the ring, wide-eyed, staring into the face of what could very soon be his future. ”Oh my! What in the world have we just witnessed, King?” ”I think we witnessed the sending of a message. And I can assure you. That message was received.” Smackdown – February, 20, 2009 [3 days ago] “Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the Executive Vice-President of the Board of Directors, Shane McMahon!” Shane McMahon comes out to the arena with no music. He walks to the ring, and the fans are basically silent. They definitely got this segment off to a good start, having Shane come out without the music. It makes it more of a serious situation if you ask me. I’m interested to see where this storyline goes. Shane enters the ring and gets a microphone. He’s not smiling like usual. “As we learned at No Way Out, Shawn Michaels has fallen onto some hard times, if you will. Michaels admitted to taking illegal drugs, otherwise known as steroids. He stated that Randy Orton had found out about this, and was using it to blackmail him. Now, regardless of the circumstances, what Shawn Michaels did was in violation of World Wrestling Entertainment’s Wellness Policy.” The fans boo in response to this. The announcers say nothing, and it’s quite obvious that they won’t say anything throughout this segment because they want to make it look very serious. “Now I myself am a big fan of Shawn Michaels, and I have nothing but respect for him. What he has done has not in any way changed my view of him as a person. I don’t know the whole story, but I do know this. Shawn Michaels is not happy about what he’s done. He regrets it deeply, and he feels like he’s let each and every one of you, and all of his fans elsewhere, down.” “HBK” chants begin to fill the arena as the entire crowd begins to stand on their feet. The cheers get louder. “The WWE Board of Directors has been talking all week about how to handle this situation, and..” HBK receives the biggest pop of the night as his music hits and he bursts into the arena. He kneels down on the ramp and prays as his fireworks explode across the stage. He stands up and high-fives a bunch of fans before walking further down the ramp and entering the ring. He enters the ring and gets a microphone. “Shane, let me cut you off right there. Now I know what I did was wrong, and there’s no way I can change that. However, I am an honest man, and I am a prideful man. I am willing to accept whatever punishment is given to me, and after that happens, I plan on returning to the ring and kicking a*s all over again!” “Look, Shawn. This isn’t easy for me; especially because I understand that this economy is tough right now. It’s hard for people to make a living, and many people are falling on hard times. You obviously did what you did for a reason, but that discussion is for another time and another place. Now, the Board of Directors has come up with three possible options. Either I suspend you for ninety days, I fire you, or..” “Or what?” “Well, the third option is that I put you in a match, and if you emerge victorious, you’re free of punishment. However if you lose, you lose your job and you can never return to World Wrestling Entertainment. Now I’m giving you the choice. You can choose an option, and whatever one you choose, I’ll respect that, and I’m sure all of these people will as well.” “Shane, I tell you what. I’m not going to quit. I don’t want to be suspended, but then again, it is a big risk to put my career on the line in a match. However, The Heartbreak Kid has always been one for taking risks! They don’t call me The Showstopper for nothin’! So you know what? I’ll take option three!” “HBK” chants begin to fill the arena again. They are definitely doing a great job with this segment. The highlight of the night without a doubt. “I figured you would. Now, before I tell you the match, I’d like you to know that I had nothing to do with the choosing of this match. It was organized by the Board of Directors.” “Just get on with it already.” “Well, Shawn, you have to face most of the ECW Roster.” Major heat from the crowd for this one. Although I did expect a Handicap Match to be in the works. “No surprise there.” “The match will be an Elimination Match, and it will be you taking on fifteen members of the ECW Roster. Good luck.” Shane McMahon drops the microphone and exits the ring, leaving HBK in the ring by himself. Suddenly, Mark Henry, Jack Swagger, Dustin Delta, and The Big Show come down to the ring and surround Shawn Michaels. He tries to battle back, but the numbers game catches up to him. Gong. And the lights go out. When they come back on, The Deadman is in the ring. Henry goes right for him, but HBK intervenes and nails Henry with some Sweet Chin Music. The Deadman takes down Delta with a Chokeslam, sending a message to his upcoming opponent. Swagger is quick to retreat, while The Big Show hits Taker with some Right Hands. Taker battles right back, quickly gaining an advantage over The World’s Largest Athlete. HBK, probably confused as to what’s going on, nails The Big Show with some Sweet Chin Music. Show, reeling, turns around and finds himself on the receiving end of a Tombstone Piledriver. The Deadman stares at HBK for a moment before the lights go out. When they come back on, The Deadman is no longer in the ring. ”A truly challenging situation for Shawn Michaels.” ”You said it, Cole.” ”What’s interesting, though, is that The Undertaker has been seemingly following Shawn Michaels as of late. First, he appeared at No Way Out, then this past Friday on Smackdown. What does The Undertaker want with Shawn Michaels?” ”I don’t know, but one’s gotta wonder what role, if any, The Undertaker will play in this match. After all, he is an ECW Superstar. He could end up being one of Shawn Michaels’ opponents.” Alright, and we’re ready to go. I’m wondering how this match is going to turn out. This will be the first time a match like this has taken place. Gigantic ovation for The Showstopper as he enters the arena, ready to compete in what could very well be his final match in the WWE. He kneels on the ramp, looks up, and prays as his fireworks explode across the stage. He high-fives tons of fans as he walks down the ramp. He goes to enter the ring, but stops, and walks around the ring, high-fiving tons of fans in the front row. ”A huge ovation for Shawn Michaels. This could be his last match ever. Even so, he’s going to give it everything he’s got, and more.” ”Shawn Michaels has been a WWE Superstar for nearly seventeen years, and it would be disappointing to see his career end tonight because of one mistake.” ”Yeah but don’t forget, this was HBK’s choice. He could have taken a ninety-day suspension.” ”I realize that, but we all know Shawn Michaels didn’t want to miss Wrestlemania 25, and if he had taken the suspension, that would have been the case.” Ricky Ortiz theme Michaels’ first opponent, Ricky Ortiz, enters the arena and throws his O’ Rally towel into the crowd. He enters the ring and shakes hands with his opponent in a sign of respect. Main Event Match: Shawn Michaels vs. 15 ECW Superstars [Gauntlet Match] First Opponent: Ricky Ortiz Match: The two lock up in the center of the ring. Michaels overpowers Ortiz and takes him to the corner with some Knife-Edge Chops. Michaels tries to Irish Whip Ortiz into the opposite corner, but Ortiz reverses it and hits Michaels with a Flapjack into the turnbuckle, followed by a Bridge Pin. Michaels quickly gets the shoulder up. Ortiz goes for a Clothesline, but Michaels ducks the move! Ortiz turns around! Sweet Chin Music out of nowhere! Cover! 1! 2! 3! Ortiz is eliminated! ”Michaels did it! Ricky Ortiz is eliminated!” ”One down, fourteen to go! What a surprise Sweet Chin Music from HBK!” Jack Swagger theme The All-American American is greeted with boos as he enters the arena and makes his way to the ring. Second Opponent: Jack Swagger Michaels takes it right to Swagger with some quick Left Hands. Swagger takes Michaels down with a Clothesline. Swagger hits some Stomps on Michaels’ chest, before connecting with a Standing Elbow Drop and trying for the cover. Michaels kicks out at two. Swagger with a hard Irish Whip into the corner, causing Michaels to flip upside down and crash to the mat, follows. Swagger waits for Michaels to get up and hits a Fisherman Suplex. Swagger goes for the cover, but Michaels gets the shoulder up. Swagger goes for a Baseball Slide, but Michaels trips him! Michaels locks in the Crossface! ”Swagger’s in that Crossface! Will he tap?!” Swagger crawls toward the ropes, but Michaels pulls him to the center of the ring. Swagger taps out. ”He does! Swagger taps!” “HBK” chants begin to fill the arena. Swagger, being a sore loser, Clotheslines HBK in the back of the head and hits a Swagger Bomb on him to major heat. ”What? Come on!” Chris West runs down to the ring. Third Opponent: Chris “Rapidfire” West Match: West goes right for the cover! Is this the end of Michaels? 1! 2! Oh and a kick-out! West picks Michaels up and goes for a Suplex, but Michaels rolls it into a Small Package! 1! 2! 3! West is out! West looks bewildered as he exits the ring. Michaels grabs his back in pain, waiting for his next opponent. Mark Henry theme Boos for Henry as he enters the ring. Fourth Opponent: Mark Henry Match: Michaels goes for a Clothesline, but Henry grabs him and hits him with a Back Body Drop. Henry hits Michaels with some Stomps before a Standing Elbow Drop. Henry continues to destroy Michaels, throwing him into the corner and nailing him with a Corner Clothesline. Michaels falls to the mat in pain, and the fans boo Henry. Henry picks Michaels up and locks in a Bear Hug. Michaels tries his best to battle out of it, but he’s unable to. ”The man’s spine is gonna snap if this keeps up!” ”Can HBK get out of this?!” Michaels gains a burst of strength and begins hitting Henry in the face with some Right Hands. Henry drops him. Henry goes for a Clothesline, but Michaels hits an Inverted Atomic Drop, followed by an Inziguri. Henry falls to the mat and Michaels climbs to the top! Diving Elbow drops connects! HBK’s tunes up the band! Wait, what? Dustin Delta and The Big Show run down to the ring, along with Tyson Tomko. They enter the ring and surround Michaels. HBK runs for Big Show, but Tomko nails him with a Big Boot. Delta locks in the Crucifix, and begins to choke Michaels out. ”This is a four-on-one assault! Somebody’s gotta do something!” The Referee signals for the bell to be rung, as Shawn Michaels is nearly unconscious at this point, and the match won’t be able to continue. Delta gives instructions to Big Show, Tomko, and Henry. They hold Michaels while Delta Slaps him. Big Show picks Michaels up and hits him with a Knockout Punch. Michaels falls slowly to the mat. The crowd is responding with major heat at this point. Major pop for Jericho as he enters the arena and runs to the ring. His rib area is all bandaged up, and he doesn’t have his ECW Championship. ”Thank god someone finally came out here!” Jericho tries to help Michaels, but Mark Henry hits him with The World’s Strongest Slam. Delta picks up Jericho and hits him with a Delta Bomb. Randy Orton theme This isn’t surprising. Orton makes his way to the ring, getting boos from the crowd. He enters the ring, and looks at the ECW Superstars before nodding. ”What the h*ll is Orton doing out here?” ”I don’t know, but the damage has been done! Leave well enough alone!” Orton walks up to Delta, and says something to him. Delta walks toward Michaels, but Orton grabs him, turns him around, and drops him with an RKO. Henry runs toward Orton, but The Legend Killer ducks and hits an RKO on Henry as well. The crowd is wild by this point, with “RKO” chants filling the arena. Tomko tries to hit Orton with a Big Boot, but Orton again connects with an RKO. Orton hits Big Show with some Right Hands before sliding out of the ring. Orton grabs a Steel Chair and nails Big Show in the head with it. Show doesn’t fall. Another shot takes care of that, though, as The World’s Largest Athlete falls to the mat. Orton looks at Jericho, then at Michaels, before exiting the ring, leaving the WWE Universe with one question. Just what the h*ll is going on? Shooting Star Press is Evan Bourne's finisher, and it is a move that Vince McMahon does not like to let people use. Evan Bourne had to actually show Vince that he could do it correctly. The name isn't very realistic, either. If you can fix those things up we should be all set.
