The "Lottery" Craze

J-Max

Recommended Posts

It seriously needs to slow down, I've been seeing more and more of these pop up lately and the whole idea of a fun Lottery to me is Fading fast. What YCM needs is a single Lottery, run by someone like Darth. Glasstin started it all and yes I enjoyed donating a ton of points to them. But now it's getting old.... Overused like most Dragon Pics you see on cards. To cut a long story short, I suggest one Lottery topic.

This was the reason I changed my name to J-Max, there was a time when I was known as Spirit of D.M.G and I was very proud of that name, then there were Copycats who took the Spirit idea. Same situation as the Lottery.

Also, maybe have the person who runs it only gets 10% of the profit. There is one were the maker gets 40% of all the money. He sells them for 25 a pop, then takes 10 and puts 15 in the pot.

Glasstin had it that way (Rumors were that he purposely kept more Points to himself)

Excuse me? :/

I'm afraid I don't understand that comment. :|

During my lottery's early days' date=' I did keep a profit, but I was alerted by some friendly moderators that it was a form of scamming. During the time, I had no knowledge of this, but now that I look back at it, it was a very big mistake. Luckily, Pyro Knight eagerly supported my lottery, and had a discussion with the moderators that was vital in order to keep my thread alive. I obeyed the commands of the moderators without hesitation, and I gave the entire jackpot away, for each drawing. Although no one noticed, I still had my profit of points from the first few days of the lottery, but I donated all my points towards my lottery's final drawing.

I'm not sure where you heard those rumors, but I know for a fact that they are completely false.

I'm not the kind of person that takes people's points secretly. Each member knew how many points they sent to me, how many tickets they purchased, and everyones purchases were logged into the first post, to prevent confusion.

The entire jackpot was given away, but soon the lottery's popularity decreased. I strived for quite a while to keep the thread popular, and I resorted many times to purchasing tickets for other members, just so at least two people participated a day.

Unfortunately, because school was beginning, I had to put a halt to my thread, and I left YCM to focus on my studies.

I'm glad that my lottery thread led to the discussions about having a party week, and the threads containing other forms of games, to keep YCM members entertained.

Anyway, if Mr. Browarod or anyone else will make a brand-new lottery thread, I'll be glad to assist him/her in anyway possible.

:)
