Tbh Double Tuning, Delta Accel wasn't such a terrible concept, in that it neatly combined previously explored things rather than pulling something entirely different and equally outrageous out of nowhere.

Personally, I think they should have stopped at regular Synchro. Accel Synchro wasn't needed, and it was very rarely actually useful as a concept, barring the first two times it was used (when the whole 'Synchro at your opponent's turn' came into play). The rest would have been the same with just regular Tuner + non-Tuner + Synchro. Tbh Yusei shouldn't even have gotten Shooting Star, instead he should've focused on his other Synchros more, same goes with Jack (inb4Jackhasnoothersynchros), and of course Savior Dragon upgrades for Crow Aki and Ruka. Rua's Life Stream was bad imo, if they ever went down that plotline it should've been with a dragon with the exact same stats as PTD that represented its 'true form', and then it could get an upgrade as well. Also, it wouldn't suck if they introduced /Busters in the anime as a solution to the Machine Emperor problem.

/endrant.

Not to mention that /Assault Modes are much easier to summon, but then they wouldn't be able to advertise that many cards.

I like Accel Synchro and Delta Accel Synchro, but there are only two of each cards, and it's only Antinomy and Yusei that has one of each, not to mention Jack has the only monster that requires Double Tuning.

Our make storylines for the cards that actually have stories before the Duel Terminals were released.

Before the Duel Terminal series was initiated, all lore related to Yu-gi-oh from the CG's side was very limited, there wasn't much that could be done with it without either expanding the whole thing a lot. Whereas the Duel Terminals already offer a vast amount of ground to be explored, from interplanetary wars to secret machine cults, to archaic creatures of primordial elements competing with each other for dominance... Honestly, I feel some of that stuff would work much better as an anime and advertisement for the game, rather than an anime that is actually based on the game, if it was done right. Or at least side-stories more-or-less unrelated to the anime, specifically to promote the Duel Terminals. I see so much wasted potential in just keeping all that awesome stuff for guidebooks noone really reads...

In that case, then I can agree, plus the stories behind the many archetypes actually tie into each other, so a series based on the Duel Terminal archetypes could focus on many characters while still being able to tell several intertwined stories.

If we had that instead of ZEXAL, then I would be fine with that. Takahashi might as well just do a manga based on Duel Terminal while ZEXAL airs. That way, we have one show that's more merchandise-driven, while we have another series that is story-driven, since virtually every character would be based on a card that's already been released, so it wouldn't have to be geared towards advertising.

...guys...

The Revived Hero is the one-hundred and forty ninth episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's.

When all 3 of the Temporal Machine Gods are summoned, ZONE announces "I am Yusei Fudo". Yusei, upon hearing this, can't hold back his shock. There's no possible way this could be true, he insists. But then ZONE begins to explain the full meaning of what he is saying.

He reveals, when the war was started, he fought, but he lost his one true love-

Aki Izayoi.
