5Ds Japanese/Sub/Manga Official Discussion Thread

something tells me in 130 or 131 we will find out who Paradox is. remember, they said his true identity would be revealed in an upcoming episode. and they said that about 2 monthes ago.

EDIT who else thinks Yusei will topdeck multiple tuners to defeat the Polar Gods with Shooting Star, like he did with Wisel?

I wonder if Aki is still missing her Psychic Powers, I mean she couldn't use them when she got injured. I'll tune back in at 130.

With the tournament and the final I think the other Signers have become a bit redundant, shame that really after the set up to the Luciano Vs the Twins duel.

I'm seriously so curious now as to what will happen if Yusei lost every duel he has and Jack win every single one. Would everybody still be rooting for Jack? Would people still be spitting on Yusei?

What if Aki starting getting more screentime than Yusei and the show suddenly became "The Adventures of Aki and The Almighty Red Devil Nova King of Burning Soul Jack Atlas"? What if she got coupled with Yusei and he became her yes mam?

What if Crow wasn't a signer and kept the same record he has now? Would the bashing still continue? What if they removed his 'satellite marks'? If his deck didn't surprise the hell out of the meta when it was actually released? If his deck didn't topdeck in real life? The questions, the questions....but never mind me gaiz, I'm not relevant, I'm just a fickle fan because I like Crow.

See ya!

Since the entire storyline of the first arc seemed to be about that, then yes, everyone would still love Jack and despise Yusei. However, with Yusei losing EVERY duel, Yusei dies when he loses to Kiryu, and therefore, nobody would be spitting on him, only his remains. Unless of course, something stupid happens and he is revived.

What if Aki starting getting more screentime than Yusei and the show suddenly became "The Adventures of Aki and The Almighty Red Devil Nova King of Burning Soul Jack Atlus"?

Fix'd.

Unless Yusei came back somehow, of course Aki would get more screentime than dead Yusei.

A show where Jack and Aki actually take on the big bads and fans get the obvious chance to ship Aki and Jack? I'll pass.

What if she got coupled with Yusei and he became her yes mam?

You know I've kinda been waiting for that the entire show, though naturally I'd prefer it if they really were at equal level. Not Yusei having more time than Aki, not Aki having more time than Yusei, but about equal. I wouldn't want them to turn into Rua and Ruka, but obviously I would like them doing some things together and some things apart.

What if Crow wasn't a signer and kept the same record he has now? Would the bashing still continue?

Well, everyone would wonder why he has such a good record despite not being important.

What if they removed his 'satellite marks'?

Not gonna happen. Not even Yusei got his marks removed.

If his deck didn't surprise the hell out of the meta when it was actually released? If his deck didn't topdeck in real life?

Unfortunately, the deck took the meta by surprise because of its power and consistency. I'm not exactly sure what the other question is asking.

The questions, the questions....but never mind me gaiz, I'm not relevant, I'm just a fickle fan because I like Crow.

See ya!

Interesting ideas, but I'm not a fan of them.

You do realize that the people who post here are not representative of Yu-Gi-Oh!'s main fanbase, correct? Yusei is the protagonist because the target fanbase can identify with him easily, Jack becoming an internet meme has nothing to do with him. If Yusei was not the main character and someone like Jack was, the show would drop in popularity and would rather soon be cancelled. You see, even if the whole story of - most - Yu-Gi-Oh! seasons is bad, it actually works perfectly fine as it was intended to.

What if Aki starting getting more screentime than Yusei and the show suddenly became "The Adventures of Aki and The Almighty Red Devil Nova King of Burning Soul Jack Atlas"? What if she got coupled with Yusei and he became her yes mam?

Relationships in a show about card games? No. I know that a lot of people want to see some on-screen mush for whatever reason, but I would never make it happen, not between Aki and Yusei, and not between anyone else. As for Aki or anyone getting more screentime than Yusei, see above. And also, even if they did somehow manage to throw Aki and Jack into a main character slot, if it meant that the other characters would get significantly lesser amounts of importance and screentime like now, I still wouldn't approve it. A story has to handle all its characters with the respect they deserve, not just toss two of the Signers to a not even tertiary role just because idiots fap to Blackwings.

What if Crow wasn't a signer and kept the same record he has now? Would the bashing still continue? What if they removed his 'satellite marks'? If his deck didn't surprise the hell out of the meta when it was actually released? If his deck didn't topdeck in real life?

You can be assured that plot importance comes with skill at card games. Even if he, by some miraculous display of intellect on the writers' part, wasn't a Signer he'd still get an important role. Criminal marks cannot be removed. His deck does not really matter. People like Kiryu - or at least liked him before he turned into a wristcutter cowboy - despite his deck (then again his deck used to be s*** IRL until the Crashtown arc, where people started disliking him, and the new Infernities were released. There's a link right there, too, of course, but that's the scriptwriter's fault.

To sum up all your questions, if any of the things you mentioned happen, the chances are the show would still suck in our - my - eyes, because the problem isn't WHO is getting the major screentime, the problem is that screentime is divided unequally and unfairly, that some characters are deprived of all sorts of depth just to provide footsteps for others to climb on, and that they managed to remind us just how stupid card games on motorcycles really are, after we'd kind of forgotten it in the epicness of season 1.

[spoiler=Summary]Crow pulls off some crazy s*** with his Traps (as indicated by half the episode consisting of people screaming: "HE ACTIVATED A TRAP FROM THE GRAVEYARD?!?!?!?") draws with Brave. Harald and Yusei step up, Harald with Thor and Loki, Yusei with nada. Yusei starts by setting a couple of cards and summoning a monster which summons 2 tokens. Harald starts and Yusei activates a Trap that will skip the Battle Phase for turns equal to the number of monsters he has out, namely 3. But Harald is like "lolnoob" and summons Odin by using the incredibly broken Polar Star Angel Valkyria. Episode ends but I expect Odin's effect to negate Yusei's Trap and Harald have all 3 of his Gods deliver a beatdown on Yusei's field. Next episode is Savior Star Dragon.

Well unconfirmed titles (but from a reliable source)

10/13 Combat for the Future

10/20 Machine Emperor Wisel

[spoiler=thoughts]

- Well if that is still the tournie, that would suggest Jack Vs Placido, which doesn't make much sense.

- Since the confirmed Team New World order is Placido, Luciano and Jose.
