I have a few declarations to make after watching 107.

 

Bruno is the most badass character ever.

Placido is the most badass villain ever.

5D's has now surpassed the original as the best series.

This episode rivals 57 in being 5D's' most JAWDISLOCATINGLY AWESOME episode so far. The transformation sequences were so much win, especially Placido's - if there ever was any doubt that the Paladins were human, it's gone now. Connecting the dots on Dark Glass' past was nice too, even though it spoils that theory of mine.

 

OH, AND EGGMAN'S VOICE IS AWESOME.

Eggman is my name for that thing Yusei, Bruno and Sherry were teleported to with Z-One, and that appeared in 107. It has nothing to do with Robotnik.

I did. The first real friend Jack had, but she came back at 64, but with no memory of being a Dark Signer. Probably for the best. She would've had nightmares about it.

Theory:

Seventeen years ago, Sherry's parents were working for Yliaster. With the destruction of one of their projects, the Momentum in Domino City and the experiment in Bommer's hometown, they were forced to look for another way to control the Yusei particle - and thus the way to God.

 

A few years pass, and Sherry's parents devise a solution: D-Wheels have a Momentum-based engine. Thus, by controlling the D-Wheel's momentum output, you can gather enough to form the gate to God's location. They call it "the Circuit" and design five Riding Roids as a homage to the Five Signers; Placido, Luciano, Jose, Bruno, and Eggman. These Riding Roids will be fitted with a special program that increases the Momentum generated by D-Wheels. At this point in time, however, Yliaster is putting most of their resources into the Dark Signer experiment following Rudger's ascendancy, and the Circuit is halted. The Riding Roids are sealed into giant stone tablets, and with them comes an incredible power: Accel Synchro.

 

For some reason or the other, Sherry's parents wished to leave Yliaster. Maybe they realized that what they were doing was wrong: Blowing up an entire town for the sake of finding God? They destroyed their program, and left for their home in France and arranged for their leave. The same evening, they were murdered and four of the five Access Cards (Z-Two to Z-Five) were taken by Yliaster. Sherry and Mizoguchi escaped with Z-One. The five Riding Roids are sent into space in their containers.

 

Skip forward to six months ago. Rex is defeated, and the Dark Signer scheme fails. Yliaster looks for a new plan to achieve control over God. A few months later, someone stumbles upon the LeBlanc's old plans and the five Riding Roids kept in orbit. They manage to unlock four of these, and develop a consciousness of their own. One of them organizes an escape, and the four of them break free - only for Placido, Luciano and Jose to be captured again. Their memories of Bruno are erased, and an idea is programmed into them; evolution must be halted, new thoughts cannot be allowed. This process takes a few months, and once they are completed they rise to power in Neo Domino City.

 

One by one, their Accel Synchro monsters are being remade into Machine Emperors, and sent to Earth in the stone containers that once held the Riding Roids themselves and their Accel Synchros.

Eggman is the God that the Trio of Infinity keeps mentioning, and Luciano, Jose, Placido and Bruno were all created by him. However, the Ylliaster Trio went rogue and decided to f*** life on Earth up. That's why they try to find God, to destroy him. However, God seeks help within Bruno and the Signers, that's why he gives Yusei his Accel Synchro.

 

Another theory is that Ylliaster is a bunch of f***ed up pranksters who went totally "Let's create five robots! One of them is a pretty nice guy, while three of them is batshit crazy!" Then another Ylliaster member goes: "But what about the fifth?" "Oh that's GOD! He will give the robots magical powers!"

But then God goes like "Nah I want Bruno, Yusei and Sherry to defeat the batshit crazy guys. I will still give the evil dudes some friggin' robots, tho."

 

[spoiler=107 "Review"]

Pros:

- Best episode of 5D's so far.

- Placido is a centaur on wheels. Me likez.

- Accel-Stardust looks friggin' awesome, but it looks a bit like Sin Stardust.

- WAIT WUT!? Bruno is Dark Glass!?

- Bruno's and Placido's Transformations was awesomesauce.

Cons:

- Make the episodes one hour long, goddamnit!

 

[Vector Nightmare]

Um, the episode was terrible. Those transformation sequences looked utterly out of place. We rushed too fast into Accel'd Stardust, and the revelation that Bruno is Dark Glass came too abruptly and without proper build-up (even though most of us had seen it coming long ago). All rules were blown to the wind when one of the Diablo Droids actually jumped in and began its turn before Bruno had actually finished his. Plus the fact that Placido is probably going to duel Yusei with Wisel already out is lame.

Bruno has been helping Yusei this whole time, leaving him hints and clues about how to hit Accel. How does JACK do it, then?

You'd still have to summon these monsters somehow in a legitimate duel. It's just that if you don't exit duel mode, they'll remain on the field even if you join another group. Although since the Ghosts can just play amongst themselves and pretend to be enemies, they could just barge into a battle with full fields already. Not that they need to of course since they usually win anyway.

I'll comment as I watch.

 

- Does Yusei fear every monster than kicks his ass or something?

- Placido should know the rules of YGO....no important characters dies.

- I wish Dark Glass would not state the obvious. I really don't like his summonings either...

- Just coz he changes form doesn't mean he's gonna pwn your ass.

- Why is everytime Yusei faces someone that previously beat him or 'nearly' he needs a new epic monsters to beat them?

- I'm liking Placido.

2.) Konami will probably make someone die now, just to screw with us. Remember, 5D's is aimed at teens, not kids like the other 2.

According to some official source - something published with the movie, methinks - the current season is Season 3. Fortune Cup was Season 1, and the Dark Signer Saga was Season 2. The third season was called WRGP and lasts from 65 and onward.

 

Not sure if things have changed since then. Then again, compared to the other seasons, WRGP-post-104 hasn't really been that different in plot.
