Jappio
Well firstly Roids Man, no one here was trying to be mean. They didn't give straight out advice, but two of them did tell you where to go to get help with splicing (by linking to my guide, which I find flattering, thanks guys). Also it's hard to give advice and help when you don't save as .PNG. .PNG is explained in my tutorial and probably others. When first saving a picture you have a choice of what to save as. MSpaint usualy is defaulted to something like .jpeg or a bitmap. You have to change the file type to .png. If you don't, your image will have a lot of badly colored pixel all over. It gives a very pixelated look. The qualaty drops ten fold and the image looks pretty ugly due to it most of the time. Now with that out of the way I'll get to checking them on an individual bases. My critiquing will be limited though because of the way you saved some of them. The first needs work. Firstly an important part of splicicng in recoloring. Having black parts coming out of a blue body just lookts too weird. Secondly, the proper placement and removal of features must be done. You can't madly just erase and place pieces. Sometimes you need to rebuild spots too. Like around the skull there should be a black or dark tan line going around the edges. Same problems on places like the body. I don't like how you placed the skull on the body. The duskul skull is more of a mask than a skul, so you should have kept a good amount of the Prinplup head. The little arm things are pretty beat up and I can't even tell if they are facing the righ way or anything. Lastly Prinplup seems to have too much of a pressence. The Magmortar Recolor has some pretty bigg errors. The biggest being you lost shading. Shading on sprites is generally when one kind of color as multiple shades. A bright shade, a normal shade, a dark shade, and so forth. When you recolor a sprite, the color you use should have the same number of shades. You kept just one though and now the sprite has lost its depth, and 3d look, and the qualaty has dropped. You did though save this one as a .PNG, because it doesn't have the bad pixelated look. The color choice though I find ugly. The birght blue with the black and red and pink is all too much. You also didn't pay attetiong to the borders. Borders are almost always darker than the color onside (not always the case because some stiles of art do us brighter colored borders). On the black arms you have a pure black inside, around the edges thgouh you still have left behind some darker gray borders. Basically, this needs a lot of work. Pikachu+Eggxecutor is a nice choice. Too often do people just do generic ideas like Mewtwo+Deoxys. Sadly your execution is bad. You los borders on Pikachu, which is never a good thing. You also have a weird issues with the feet. They in no way blend into Pikachu, as if they were attatched. They also are facing and sticking out in weird ways. The ears on Pikachu you could have hidden or removed better. The leavese also look very unaturel the way you have them placed. You also lack of course any recoloring. The politoad recolor is pretty bad. You have too many coloring going on at once. Firstly you neglected all shading again, a very bad things. I don't get why you used a blue background. This would be fine if you always used it, but just this once you did. Blue, red, green, pink, light blue, and yellow all don't go together. You newest one has problems too of course. Should be a .PNG of course. You also lost a lot of your borders. There is very little splicing in this at all, all you did was add the head on, and not very well either. You could have recolored also. I like though your tried getting creative and added what I think are suppose to be forks. You need to imrprove on your spriting though because they aren't very good. I would say why and all, but I can't due to them being not .PNG. So to reitterate. Save as .PNG always. Recoloring is greatly needed. Keeping borders clean and existant is a good ting. Color choice is important. Reading a tutorial might be a good idea for you, but it isn't required if you just think logically and make sure to take your time.
