1) For Megaman, let's do the math. We all know that there is room for 1 more 3rd party character. He's one of the most requested 3rd partyers to be in Brawl. His games originated on the NES. He's had 14 games on Nintendo consoles (and that's just the Classic Megaman). December 15 is his 20th anniversary (probably will be announced day b4, cuz 15th is on a Saturday). He is one of the most well known mascots in the video gaming industry (only losing to very few, such as Sonic and Mario). He could have a very wide variety of choices for a moveset. What does that add to. VERY. VERY. HIGH. CHANCES.

2) K. Rool's chances are actually pretty good. A lot of people want K. Rool to be in it also.

Yeah, I know a lot of people want him to be in (Me, just to see how he moves and plays), but, just because of that, doesn't mean he will. Everyone wanted Sonic to be in Melee, and was that to be? Nope. That's why he's in Brawl. (No duh, Sony got Snake in here, why not let Sega's friend join the party?)

well, you have a point there. but Snake's creator wanted him in Melee. However, the game was already too far into production to add him. That's one of the reasons he was in Brawl. But we all know that Megaman is almost guaranteed to be in Brawl.

I said ALMOST guaranteed. His chances have increased drastically when Sonic was announced. I also read somewhere on the site that there was gonna be at most 2 more 3rd party characters. And Sonic has filled the first spot.

K. Rool would be better as a character. Robotnik and Ridley are better off as bosses. If a Sonic character was to be an assist trophy, it would be Tails, flying in his Tornado.

^ Yes their are most likely going to be atleast 40 characters in Brawl, of those 40 about 30 that you start with and 10 you unlock. Of those 10 maybe 6 you get in The Subspace Emissary.

So the update. Well since we got Battle with friends Monday Sakurai gave us Battle with Anyone/Basic Brawl today.

You could choose Team Battle, Basic Brawl, and Spectator here.

This than takes you to the character selection scene. You have 45 second to pick, if time runs out you are given 1 at random. You can also cast one vote for the stage you want to play. A stage is chosen by lottery from among those voted on by the players.

Also, the items that are turned off in the item switch are also determined by lottery.

The next bit of the update I find cool.

If you get cut off, your character will get taken over by the CPU without your opponents even knowing—it pinch hits for you.

What I want to know now is how this works. If your opponent is going to fight a level 1 CPU and if you can get back in if you get your connection comes back. I'll also add that this doesn't work with friends.

Now the last part of the update is hidden characters.

I'll make what Sakurai said short (the update is long). He says he won't be hung up on hidden characters. So you can pick them. He goes on to say you can earn most characters by playing through The Subspace Emissary. So for those of you who look forward to those encounters, I recommend you clear this mode before playing Basic Brawl.

What I find odd in this update is this

These are the stage and character selection scenes from the demo. So it's safe to assume that all the scene shots of Basic Brawl, but if you look at this

wi-fi04_071207h.jpg

You see Nana in the back, and Ice Climbers aren't in the character selection scene shot.

What do you think this means, or do you think this is just me being crazy

but you unlock 11 in melee. 11/25 characters are unlockable in melee. That's about half. So I think that about 20 will be unlockable in Brawl.

Where do you learn this stuff.

I didn't learnit any where. They are just educated guess.

Most people think the game will have around 38-42 characters. So I used that number and thought since Smash to Melee you start with 2 more than what you end with in Smash so said around 30 will make that starting line up, so about 10 you unlock. From their I thought atleast 1/2 of the unlockable characters will be unlocked by playing Subspace Emissary because Sakurai said most will come from their. I put 6 becuase I don't think that only 3 will be unlocked by normal play

That is very weird... mabye you get them later in the game? but then again they're not good enough to make you wait 'til you get the... so...

(I didn't think of this I just copied and pasted it)

Um that might not be the screne shot of the demo after all.

Look it the vid

The pic says "basic brawl" in the upper left corner, in E 4 All in the upper right corner, so this is not the E 4 All selection screen.

If was the starter lineup. Where are Kirby and Zelda? Meta Knight is in the starting lineup and Kirby isn't? Why is Sonic in there when you start off? So, this is almost definitely not the starting lineup.

So, what else would it be? A demo is the only other option. So, you should be excited because there is a good chance that we ARE getting a demo this holiday
