cyberdude
ok i am sick and tired of the monarchs so i put 2 cards in my deck to help out prohibition clock and daggerif nyone can think of more please post it here
HORUS
hmmm... my bro has been decking prohibitions just to decapitate my Hydrogeddons and things, but seriously, with people using several different Monarchs at the same time, its hard to choose just one to decapitate. also, its easily destroyed. MST, Heavy, Twister, and with Breaker soon it will be highly uneffective. i cant see it being decked.
chaoserver
Pulling the rug. Nobleman x2 with the new banlist.
HORUS
hmmm yeah i can see the use of Pulling the Rug. gotta get me one of those. but prohibition = No
chaoserver
I totally missed him considering those. They were only good vs. Demise, and he's about to be gone so...
HORUS
yeah i havent seen any Demise OTK's played for a while. its definitely going to be a lot different with the new list.
the Snakey Wolf Lord
definately soul exchange
HORUS
um, youre supposed to use Soul Exchange in Monarch decks. this is for cards that are good AGAINST monarchs.
Speedguitar07
monarch wat?
chaoserver
Monarchs now are going to only have brain and soul for opponent sacking. But, some of their weakness have been kinked out. They are going to be one of the more heavily played deck types in the new format.
Speedguitar07
i think thats a good idea
HORUS
yeah. i think they already are the most heavily played. most people at the local tourney i go to have either Monarch decks, or Crystal Beast decks, with an occasional DD Turbo. theyre the only decks that can live in advance format. chaoserver
Well DDT is dead with the new banlist.. But yes monarchs and cb are some of the few decks that will survive the list.
HORUS
yeah i guess so. do you think they may have just made Nobleman of Xout semi limited just for Apprentice Engine and swarming?
chaoserver
Yeah, and perhaps to combat treeborn. Which is why Im using decks that avoid setting monsters(avoid nobleman, and soon shield crush), negate flips(x outs, ceasefire), and chain to breakers effect(torrential to prevent it, ceasefire, ect.). HORUS
oh crap my Engine is in trouble. i didnt even think about treeborn. it really does help a lot, and its usually tributed immediately so theres no stopping it unless it hasnt been destroyed/dropped yet. Father Wolf
i thought of a card but i havent put it to the test rivalry of warlords they can only have 1 type of monster out on the field at 1 time
Sartorius
Monarchs won't be as good in the next format due to the limitation of Brain and the Ban of Snatch. Soul Exchange makes Monarchs slower, so they become easier to kill off. Rugs are a perfect sidedeck @ 3. Prohibition and Cloak and Dagger aren't good cards and not worth using. HORUS
pulling the rug is the only card that i can see helping against Monarch decks. it even works against breaker and gadgets.
darkguy00000
Pfft, not just Pulling the Rug. If you don't like it's rather narrow scope, you could play Divine Wrath, for chainable card that's splashable, Trap Dustshoot (Brain Control > You flip Dustshoot, shuffle back their Raiza, obv. you'd have flipped it beforehand though.) HORUS
i guess Divine Wrath would be okay...
HORUS
sorry for double post. is using Pulling the Rug any better than using Trap Hole on a Monarch?? and does Trap Hole stop it from using its effect? sorry if i sound like a n00b. im not completely used to monarchs yet. Lilrow
Trap Hole doesn't stop effect and don't double post, edit your last one.
Father Wolf
no trap hole dont work sence it not negate the summoning
Sartorius
Pulling the Rug stops the monarch/stratos/gadget getting it's effect and destroys it.Trap Hole just destroys the monster.
