Crab they never invented cards' date=' just they never made it to the OCG.

[/quote']

It's not just that the cards weren't in the OCG; it's also that the cards get pulled out of nowhere, have never been seen before, have incredibly situational effects, and are never seen again.

Think of Roulette Spider, Berserker Soul, Ragnarok, and so on.

Its an anime they pull cards that turn the whole duel around like every episode.

Big example: 41st card in Hell Kaiser Ryo's Deck in 95' date=' the one card that could win the duel: Defusion.

[/quote']

More like every turn. >.>

What I'm referring to are cards that were seemingly created specifically for one specific purpose, and which are never shown before or after that use.

I think that this is the biggest difference between Yugi and Judai; Yugi would pull something like Ragnarok out, while Judai would activate Fifth Hope and Pot of Greed, draw some cards that let him Fusion Summon exactly the monster he happens to need at that point in time.

Kind of makes you when you see the duel line up not to bother watching the episode.

In the Manga Judai didn't have nearly that much luck when he lost to both his idol and Manjoume (who knocked him out in the final of tournie).

I can see totally what you mean though, too many God draws. (So tempted to flame 173/174 of GX for some reason now)

the major problem with the old days is there's always the one card to win the duel.

The major problem with the new days is there's always the one card to win the duel, and it's always the same card too. >_>

with the old days this applied to both the good AND the bad, that makes it even more annoying

the original was superior to the 'original' you refer to.

Esp YNB Psychotic moments' date=' I mean impaling his hand was a good way of forcing Ryou out. And then when Ryou started to break the dices....and he used the ring to attack him. Now that's good moments lots of them, like when the triplets attacked Yugi (and Seto saved his ass), and Jyonouchi in drag cannot beat that.

[/quote']

Yeah! Yami Ryu stuck the points of the Millennium Ring into his chest! He was then his permanent "host"..........

Then he challenged them to a game of "Monster World" and Yugi was a beastmaster, Honda (Tristan) was a magic gunman, Jonouchi (Joey) was a warrior, and Anzu (Tea) was a spellcaster. Yugi met some annoying creatures such as a Kirby-like figure who wouldn't stop saying "Pokii!", and a dragon that said, "Padoo!" They were both idiots.

When you roll the dice, (10-sided dice) you want to get the closest to 0. A 00 is a "Super Critical Hit." Eventually they defeat the DM (Dark Master) Zorc, and vanquish Yami Bakura (not really).

Why does it sound like a reference to WOW?

Personally I liked the old series because it had Bakura, he has such a cute accent. ^ _ ^

aside from my ignorance, who the hell was Dartzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz? The furthest in the anime i got to was when Mai summoned Winged Dragon Of Ra and the Marik dude went like "hahahaha you dont know the secret to unleashing it's power" or whatever.

and to think, if Marik really was that evil, why in the hell did he play by the rules and take turns? why not just annihilate yugi and everyone else stating "since i am evil and all powerful i will conduct my turn 10 times bwuhahahaha"

Dartz was another filler villian with a weird back story that really didn't make any sense and besides the season tried to mess up with the source material...all in all your lucky you haven't seen that season yet, although the seal of (to lazy to find out how to spell that word) was intereasting.

Hey, it's not like Yugi/Yami NEVER lost.

Although all but one of their losses was unfair:

1. Video tape against Pegasus: technically shouldn't count since there was a timer limit and they missed the timer by only 1 second, not to mention Pegasus cheated with his eye.

2. Castle duel against Kaiba: also wasn't exactly fair since Kaiba would have lost had Yami went in for the attack, Yugi only stopped him because he thought this blow would knock Kaiba off the tower (and Kaiba admitted himself to some extent it wasn't fair and organized BC because of it)

3. First time upon meeting Rebecca: technically Yugi won that duel, he only forfeited to teach Rebecca a lesson.

4. Against Joey on the pier, controlled by Marik: Yugi also won that duel, he only redirected the last attack to himself to free Joey from Marik's control.

5. On the stone drumrock against Rafael: this is the only duel which they lost fair and square, since not a single move done in the entire duel was illegal. Rafael didn't really cheat, since giving Yami the seal WAS a legitamate move.
