You know, I just realized that, while Yusei is said to be a Mary-Sue, Crow is even more of one.

TV Tropes says Crow is arguably a "Canon Sue", and Yusei is a "Boring Invincible Hero".

Crow is either Sue-ish or badass. Some reasons off the top of my head:

-When introduced, he was best friends with the protagonist despite never being mentioned before his debut.

-He has personal history with Yusei and Jack. He OTKed another character in his first duel on-screen.

-He NEVER loses without it being deliberate (Team Taiyou is the first time Crow lost legitimately. All other loses were either thrown duels or he didn't actually "lose", such as being reduced to 1 by Wiraqocha Rasca, or returning to the pit against Team Catastrophe). He got a DRAW against Team Ragnarok, and lost against Team New World. No other legitimate defeats.

-He runs a meta-worthy decktype (even if his deck isn't metaworthy). He also is the only character besides Rex that has a Mirror Force in his deck. WTF?

-He beat a Dark Signer without actually being a Signer

-He became a Signer.

I'm irritated that 4Kids decided to make Team Unicorn like...evil. I mean, not seriously evil, but you can tell Jean is appending most of his sentences with "...because I'm so completely evil" in his head. Whatever. It's time for Yusei to roll in and do his most Boring Invincible duel that his opponent loses on purpose in the whole series...the Team Unicorn gauntlet. Andre's down (I'm not calling him Andore because, based on the names of the other members of the team, I believe his name is supposed to be Andre), and the wonderful 8000-to-2000 LP fight begins.

I miss Z-one already.

The fact Rua's voice change is grating as hell does not help.

Team Unicorn was awesome because they WEREN'T evil. They weren't cheaters or antagonistic towards the heroes, and they didn't really play dirty. It could be argued they gave themselves every advantage they could, but I really liked that they were really the first opponents in the series that didn't seem to be anything other than competitors who wanted to win.

Jean was kind of smug and scheming, but not exactly a vindictive individual. I didnt see the dubbed versions yet, but I can imagine what you're saying.

Team Catastrophe is the exact opposite, of course.

it would've sounded weird if the voices changed mid season, i was confused when Rua's VA changed between seasons 1/2

Yeah. Pokemon changed after the third quarter of the Advanced Generation.

Veronica Taylor's Ash, we miss you.

But before that there was Dragon Ball Z where Goku's voice changed from Cheetor to Heitman.

Either they'll changed the voices during the three part finale or when Zexal starts.

Wat.Da.Fakku.4kids. Wait, how badly did they dub aporia?

EDIT:

I'm making a video about this. With commentary...Hopefully I can clean out my Mic.

Things I'll bring up in the video:

#1: Card Translation Faults

#2: Dubbing Errors

#3: 4Kids stupidity

#4: What I think of the 4kids dub.

#5: Censorship fails.
