Fan Fic - Mutant Generation

[MILSS]

I don't have much on yet, but I'll do more if you are interested with the prologue. Here it is-

 

Prologue

It was early in the morning; the sun was beginning to rise...

 

A man was kneeling in St. Joan of Arc Church, praying before Mass. He was a religious man, and coming to church early was normal for him. His name was Dan McCarthy.

 

Today, however, Dan was in a hurry. He was going to go to his first day of work at his new job, a Doctor, and he would like to get there early.

 

He is very excited, but he goes to church everyday early, and there are no exceptions. Not even for today.

 

He checked his watch, and it read 7:12am. “Come on…” he said angrily. “Mass doesn’t even start for another forty - eight minutes!”

 

He looked at the gold cross he wears around his neck. The cross is favorite possession. He rarely takes it off, only when he sleeps at night. Sometimes even then he doesn’t remove it from his neck…

 

Suddenly the cross started glowing. At first he thought it was reflecting from the sun, but he soon realized that the sun isn’t even up yet…

 

“What’s going on?” he exclaimed in fear.

 

Then Dan started to feel dizzy, and everything started to become blurry. Before he knew it, he collapsed and everything went black.

Dan woke up in a white room. His cross was around his neck, but stopped glowing.

 

It took Dan a few moments to realize another man was in the room as well.

 

“Who are you?” Dan asked. He has many more questions to ask, but he thought this one was most important. Hopefully this guy will explain where he was.

 

The man answered calmly, “I am God,”

 

Dan was stunned. He asked, “I am in Heaven? I’m dead?”

 

God replied, “You are dead, for now. I just brought you here so we can talk. I have something very important to tell you, and it’s about your cross,” he paused for a minute, then kept on going, “Your cross can activate a special gene in your body…. It turns your into complete gold.”

 

Dan was speechless for a moment, but finally choked up the words and said, “Complete gold? How does it do this? And am I still able to move and think?”

 

God said, “You just have to think about it, and you will turn to gold. And don’t worry… you still will be animated. By turning you into gold, it makes you ten times stronger, and durable to almost anything.”

 

“That’s amazing God. Thank you for this gift, but… can I go back now? I’ll miss Mass.”

 

God laughed and said, “Of course. You’ll wake up as if nothing even happened,” but then God’s face became grim, “You have a very dangerous adventure ahead of you Dan. Be very careful. And always remember to pray…”

 

And with those words, Dan woke up in the church, amazed of what happened.
