My first Fakemon, Zindura | From Scratch

Well first off, for a Pokemon sprite, it is too big. Pokemon are in a 80X80 size. Also, it is in the wrong type of view, it should be more of a angle. Now that the Pokemon technical stuff is out of the way, now to get to the general spriting stuff.

I'll begin with shading. Firstly I noticed on the borders are off. You have black lines where the borders should be dark blue, and dark blue borders where it should be black. Black borders are for places where light doesn't hit the object, and dark blue are for where the light hits the object. Your shades are also almost good, but your darker shades need more contrast. The darkest blue you have should be closer to black, and the second darkest should probably be what your darkest is right now.

Your light source is all over the place. Some areas of your sprite suggest above, some suggest to the left, and some to the right. Generally light source would be to the left on a Pokemon sprite.

Borders need work too. A lot of them are choppy, They need to be more smooth, and not so jagged. The same can be said for the bordering of your shades, where blue and light blue are to meet for example.

A few extra small things. I don't like the eye. The claws need better borders and shading. The head and back are blue, but the blue between them don't really blend together, almost as if separate. If it is suppose to be separate, than that is defined enough either. Overall it looks a bit flat too.

Well I guess I'd have to give you a 6/10, slightly above average, but not perfect.
