CoDplaya4Life
ok so i looked at the traditional format list a few mins ago, and i found out that pot of greed us limited, but pot of avarice is semi limited. i think that is dumb, because i think avarice has a better effect. so i was wondering: why make pot of greed limited? same deal with the advanced format list. it has pot of greed forbidden, and pot of avarice is semi limited again. i mean, why ban pot of greed??? Jesus
oh yeah well i think ur dumb! Pot of greed is banned because it's a good draw engine with no cost. Duh.
Dad
oh yeah well i think ur dumb! Pot of greed is banned because it's a good draw engine with no cost. Duh. Smooth. The second sentence of the above quote is absolutely true. Though I do question, why is Pot of Avarice not limited? I do expect to be flamed for this, so proceed as you wish. ~Xemnas
~ P O L A R I S ~
Oh yeah, well I think we should stop flamin' and get along. =P Anyway, Pot of Avarice's effect isn't really better because 1) You need 5 monsters in grave. 2) Monsters are more accessable in grave than in hand these days. And 3) Pot of Avarice eadds cards to your Deck, and lowers your chance of drawing stuff you need. Pot of Greed is just a free +1, which is huge. Guest
Pot of Avarice is more situational, and its grave-to-deck effect hurts you - it clogs your future draws with monsters and prevents you from using cards that interact with the graveyard. Notice how nobody runs Pot of Avarice? Now, suppose Pot of Greed were legal. Everybody would run it.
CoDplaya4Life
oh ok. also im makin a zombie deck, and i was thinking about adding pot of avarice, but with the other cards going into the deck, i guess avarice wouldnt be the best choice. should i add graceful charity or pot of greed? im guessing pot of greed, since it doesnt have a penalty. but im obviously not the best duelist around, so ur guys' advice is GREATLY appreciated. :)
Guest
Pot of Avarice is the worst thing you could do in Zombies. You want your monsters in the graveyard. If you're playing Advanced, you can't run Graceful Charity of Pot of Greed. If you're playing Traditional, you can and should run both of them. Also, Card of Safe Return is an excellent draw engine for Zombies.
