Spire
-_- Arceus would win, even with the disadvantage.
Zexaeon
And Judgment Dragon made a good point - all of my calculations were solely based on Arceus being as weak as possible. But let's take into consideration that he's still faster than Pikachu, even with minimal speed, and yes, does indeed have access to Earthquake. Thanks to Pikachu's weakness, and Earthquakes superior power over Extremespeed, it would be a OHKO. And also, Judgment, I point out that Palkia is most effective when receiving Rain Support from Kyogre. and Pikachu (the user), I understand that you're a total Pikachu fanboy, but let's be real here. Pikachu cannot defeat Arceus. That's the bottom line.

MasterOfMagicians
I don't know why people are fighting so hard for pikachu. I thought it had been explained plenty already by the individual prior to my first post.Even with the lowest possible stats, not taking into consideration attack strength, attack type, and the pokemon effects, Arceus with a water-plate would still win over pikachu.Arceus can learn a variety of ground AND rock type attacks, on top of his uber level stats, and falling into the legendary category, puts him at 3x the advantage, even though the water-plate gives him a slight disadvantage, as does being 5 levels weaker. Arceus's stats alone will protect him, so unless an item is held that increases attack power, and pikachu uses something like Lock-On along with Thunder, and it just so HAPPENS to be a critical hit, while having MAX'D stats and Arceus having the weakest of all possible stats (a one in a trillion chance), Pikachu MIGHT bring him into the red, and a one in a trillion chance of defeating him in 2 - 3 turns. Arceus is guaranteed the win. SOLELY because it is a legendary, with tremendous stats, and a wide move pool.
Zexaeon
And of coarse, Recover. Even if Pikachu succeeds in getting him into the red, he can simply recover off the damage - but of coarse, that won't happen, as a single Earthquake will knock Pikachu right out. Dark
Meh... this is a rare day. A day where I am wrong about Pokemon. It turns out that you guys were right, and for those interested, here is how the battle went... *sigh*... Arceus used Earthquake. Pikachu had 20~30 Left.Pikachu used Thunder. Critical hit! Arceus had 60~70 HP Left.Arceus used RecoverPikachu used Thunder and missed.Arceus used Earthquake. Game over. So, I was wrong... even if Pikachu would have made that last Thunder, no way it could have been a critical hit... I can't believe I was wrong. Zexaeon
=/ Pokemon is just a giant game of statistics - to win, all you need to do is know how to exploit those stats. Groudon can beat Kyogre only when he's slower, as being slower means he activates his ability after Kyogre does, thus bringing the weather onto his side. Someone trying to raise a Kyogre in hopes of defeating Groudon can simply make it slower than Groudon in order to prevail. So I guess my point is, these questions, all these poke battle polls that have been popping up, they can all be answered by simply studying the stats. Analyze the movesets, figure out various statistical scenarios, do the math. You'll get your answer, and become a better battler because of it. Dark
Well said and well thought out. But Pokemon also has the boring LUCK factor in it.
Zexaeon
^_^ Well, that is all also part of the math. For example, Critical Hits may be luck-oriented, but they are still based around a ratio of occurrence. Even this statistic can be manipulated, with the addition of high-rate moves and the use of items like Scope Lens. If the Pokemon has the Super Luck ability, this further tips the odds in your favor. Dark
Mehh... you are right. Pokemon is mostly about statistics, even though the LUCK is statistics. But then again, also has the stragetgy. Like using a Ground attack on a Electric type. Good choice. But using Hyper beam on Gengar. bad choice. Zexaeon
That's all stats too - a good strategy is shaped around statistics. Type advantages are another statistic to take into consideration.
