Now, when you read this thread, you are probably thinking "Is this guy a moron? Obviously Pikachu!". I know... but... you forget the stats of the Pokemon. This might change your mind...

Pikachu- Level 95

Arceus (WATER PLATE)- Level 90

You guys should know that Arceus has high base stats and Pikachu knows ThunderBolt. Don't forget though, Arceus has Judgement. Also, this is my last PKMN poll, forever. I can use ARDS for the rest of my questions...

1) Arceus having the Water Plate isn't too much trouble. He could still probably survive Pikachu with ease. Not to mention, he WILL go first. His base speed is higher than Pikachu's, and he can even use Extremespeed - Pikachu has crummy defensive stats, so Yellow Rat = Dead.

2) WHY would he have the water plate? If you're going to use a water-type Uber, use Kyogre. There are better options for Arceus. Leaving him normal gives his Extremespeed STAB.

3) Pikachu really isn't that mighty. He tends to die in one hit from almost anything with a decent attack stat.

Lets just say that my friend and I made a bet, and he made me use a Pikachu, so I told him to use a WATER plate Arceus 5 levels below. Don't forget about Zincs, Proteins and stat increasing things. Areceus didn't get them. And also, don't forget that with ExtremeSpeed comes a risk. Don't forget static impact or whatever. Take these things to mind every Pokemon battle. I once lost to a Pokemon 20 levels under me because I got paralyzed.

That's lovely, but Static won;t be a concern considering Pikachu will still die in a single blow. =/ Increasing Pikachu's EVs via medicine items won't make much of a difference. However, if the situation goes EXACTLY according to the following, then the odds change.

You see, Pikachu's Maximum possible Defense (including Medicine items and even a defense nature) is 174. Arceus' MINIMUM Attack stat is 248 under the absolute lowest possible circumstances (which just about never happens, but let's roll with this). Let's do some Math.

Damage Calculation works like this:

((((2 X Attacker'sLevel / 5 + 2) X Attacker'sAttackStat X MovePower / Target'sDefenseStat) / 50) + 2) X STAB (if any) X Weakness/Resistance Modifiers X Random Number (from 85-100) / 100.

Now let's plug in some values. We'll use Arceus' Level of 90 and Pikachu's Level of 95, apply Arceus' Lowest possible ATK and Pikachu's highest possible Def, and apply the use of Extremespeed, and assume Arceus is Water-type.

((((2 X 90 / 5 + 2) = 38

(((38) X 248 X 80 / 174) = 4332.87

((4332.87) / 50) = 86.66

(86.66) + 2) = 88.66

88.66 X STAB (N/A, so 1) = 88.66 X Weakness/Resistance (N/A) = 86.66 X RandomNumber (85-100) / 100.

Lowest Possible Damage: 73 Highest Possible Damage: 88

Pikachu's max Possible HP is 274. So, assuming Arceus is a water type, has minimized Attack (which, let me reiterate to you, NEVER happens) and Pikachu has maxed out defenses (which also doesn't happen, since Piakchu prioritizes maximum Sp.Atk and Speed), it will survive a few hits. However, plug in the average values (much higher attack and much lower Defense), and you'll notice that the fan-favorite little rat doesn't hold up so well. This is especially so if Arceus is a Normal Type.

I hope I have enlightened you. The only way Pikachu can win (and it's a very shaky maybe) is if it has maximized defense and Special Defense, a defense-boosting nature, and if Arceus is a non-normal type with MINIMUM Attack and Special Attack. And that's still a maybe, considering Arceus has access to healing moves, which Pikachu does not. Otherwise, say buh-bye to Pika.

Fix'd

Arceus also has Earthquake and Earth Power in its move pool, both of which, would more than likely take Pikachu out in 1 shot.
