So I am now doing Revamping De-Vamping and splicing. I take requests and want to become as good as jappio (one day). If you would like to request just post either a pokemon or two that you want to get spliced revamped or de-vamped. I will be happy to do it for free as it is practice and it kills my time! So if you would please comment give critisism be harsh! and do as much as you can to get me motivated and get me better. As jappio i will stick this thread when i get good enough. Till then I will have to keep on bumping and keep on praticing and one day just one day my sprites will be awsome! Disclaimer: Whenever I use my sprites I never give credits to PE2K so I did not make this sprites, These are proudly owned by Pokemon Elite 2000 P.S This is my first time I have done Revamps and De-Vamps Revamps Colour Sheets Splices Not bad but it is a start. Request a lot as i really need something to do and i am bad at thinking of pokemon to splice. You may take the color sheets for free! Jappio Posted September 18, 2008 Report Share Posted September 18, 2008 Well I have to say I am flattered you consider being as good as me you goal. I think though it would be better for you if you aimed to be better than me, not as good. Because trust me, there are plenty of people better at splicing, revamping, and spriting than me. A suggestion of how you can get better at things like revamping and splicing, I would say get into spriting, scratching spriting to be specific. It doesn't have to be Pokemon, and I personally think it would be good if it were non pokemon, just so you can develop a personal style. A decent understanding for sprites and spriting helps a good amount in things like splicing. Now I'll get to the critique. With Bulbasaur, I think you did a good job, but you did screw up a few things. The borders on the skin are that blue color, which is right in a way, but I would have made a dark shade for those border parts. You did it for the bulb which is good though. I would have also tried to fix up the mouth some too. I like what you did with Ivysaur. You made the blotches a new color and that's good. A few areas you need work on borders, because they kind of disappeared because they are the same color as the inside part. A few small errors like there is some blue in the leaf, and the ear is pink. Also maybe a little reworking with the eyes could help. The old sprites aren't perfect, revamping also be fixing some of the old errors. Venusaur is also nice. A few issues still though, like there looks like some color problems at the trunk of the tree. Would have maybe done something with the blotches on the skin, something other than black. Borders need to be fixed on the flower. Charmander I can tell you spent more time polishing some areas. You though did neglect others still. First off I'm not sure about the eye on the right, I honestly don't know how to fix it with just recoloring, probably need to fix it up manually. The chest I would have made white, or some different color. On the tail I see you added a new shade, but it looks too dark there, especially with a flame right there that would be brightening it. The flame also I think could have used some true revamping, adding more shades to it and stuff. I first have to say I don't get what you did with the splice. By the looks of it, you applied you own palette to it. At first I wasn't sure what was wrong, it just looked like you botched the shading. Well i went and looked, it seems you didn't use Luxrays actual colors. Wel because of this, there is a weird blue on the shield part that should be a lighter color. Also it has two tails, you should have removed Shieldon's. The border around the shield is ugly too, you have by the looks of it, added black around some of it, and didn't have any in some areas. There is also too little of Luxray in this. I'm going to have to give your revamps a 6/10, each had good parts, but each had different things that you ignored. I can tell you know how to fix the problems, it's just a matter of being aware of it. You splice gets a 3/10. More parts needed, and be careful with colors. I'd like to also make a request, Sandslash+Raichu. I suggest not looking at my like 20 different ones, it would be best for you if you did this without reference.
