Making Realistic Cards

I'm tired of posting this everywhere else, so I thought I'd post it here for everyone to see. I'm seeeing too many uncapitalizations and incorrect wording.

 

ATK and DEF:

 

Half the people I see are putting "attack power" and "defence power" on their cards. For one, they spell it "defense". Most importantly, you must say ATK and DEF!

 

Attributes:

"Destroy one DARK monster on the field."

 

Types:

"Destroy one Dragon-type monster on the field."

 

Face-up, Face-down, Attack, or Defend (sound familiar? xD):

Always hyphenate 'face-up' and 'face-down'.

 

Raising ATK or DEF:

Never say "raise" the ATK or DEF of a monster; say "increase."

 

Equip cards:

"The monster equipped with this card raises its ATK by 500 points."

 

You cannot "destroy a monster" as a cost. Try "tribute 1 monster..."

 

Never spell out a number (1, not one).

 

Capitalizing:

Always capitalize phases ("During your Standby Phase...).

Always capitalize types ("1 Dragon-type monster...).

Always capitalize Normal Summon, Special Summon, Flip Summon, etc.

Always capitalize "Life Points".

 

Commas:

"When this card is Normal Summoned,".
