Half of this is wrong and you've missed out on a crap load of info. The Pokemon you are talking about is not' date=' as thought, MissingNo but in fact it is called 'M. 'M appeared with a glitch in the HEX coding (It's HEX is 00) of the Pokemon where, you will see, Rhydon is the first Pokemon. You cannot encounter MissingNo by surfing unless you have one of these letters in the 3rd, 5th or 7th slot in your name:

G, H, J, M, S, :, '], a, b, c, m, o, v or p.

If you do not have those then you can also find it by doing the Mew Trick. It's starting moves are not Clone and Transform, they are Water Gun, Water Gun and Sky Attack. It's types are Normal and Flying. 'M is thought to do alot more damage to your game than MissingNo though MissingNo does a sufficient amount of damage. It causes things to go haywire. 'M evolves into Kangashkan. 'M and MissingNo cause the item in your 6th slot to increase by 128. MissingNo and 'M are not, as you said, Pokemon Number 152 they are Pokemon number 000, in both the Kanto and National Dex's. 'M's starting moves are also Water Gun, Water Gun and Sky Attack. The following are the TM Moves 'M can learn:

Cut, Fly, Mega Punch, Razor Wind, Swords Dance, Mega Kick, Toxic, Take Down, Double-Edge, Bubblebeam, Submission, Seismic Toss, Thunder, Fissure, Teleport, Rest, Thunder Wave, Tri Attack, Substitute.

MissingNo is not a pokemon, nor was it ever meant to be a pokemon. MissingNo was a glitch in the game when it was released, nothing more. Its a smashing of various pixels, an unexpected glitch that the programmers didn't foresee (or they did, and left it).

 

Needless to say, MissingNo was effectively removed from the Yellow Version on up. It was never meant to be a legendary, nor another pokemon with a national dex number of 000.

 

Think about it. These guys get paid six digit salaries ($100,000.00+) annually to design, construct, and test these games, do you honestly think that MissingNo would have been INTENTIONALLY created and then partially removed? Do you honestly believe that they would have been so lazy as to not remove and destroy all corrupt code in the game?

 

MissingNo is NOT a pokemon. It was NEVER a pokemon. It is a glitch in the game that people keep trying to catch, hack, and duplicate.

 

Fact of the matter is, if you catch missingno, your game will freeze, and it will be practically unplayable until you restart the game from the beginning.

 

Until I see further documentation supporting your proposed idea of missingno being a pokemon (I.E. a website with documentation to prove it), it is not a pokemon.

Look, I just posted all of the information that I tested throughout my 8~9 game collection of Pokemon. If I have the wrong info, blame my game, or blame my research. MissingNo was meant to be a legendary and is number 000 in the Pokedex. And if you think you have the right information, don't post it here unless you have tested it out. Cuz more than half of my info has been tested REPEATEDLY. And whoever said it is BIRD/WATER, they are technically right, even though it was FLYING. Also, if MissingNo wasn't meant to be a Pokemon (not a legendary, just a Pokemon) why is it in the game? Please bear in mind these questions before you post random info.

 

If you think you have the right info and tested it, please PM me the results, I will test it out on ALL OF MY GAMES (Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Ruby/Sappire/Emmy/Diamond/LeafGreen) and see if any of them work. I will be happy to make a section just for you. And I don't want info from a website. Because, just like all websites, they could have the wrong info as well. Please tell my if you found a youtube vid or have tested it yourself.

I'll try and state some points. Try and match them up yourself, since I'm too sleepy to do so.

'M is 0 in the Pokedex.

Flying =/= Bird

G-L-I-T-C-H

I'm pretty sure it's only been found in Red/Blue (although it may be in Yellow/Green/GenII)

The universe is a computer and God is the Admin and MissingNo is his rival Virus the world will end along with the rest of the universe when these two collide.

 

That's what I'm trying to tell everyone!...kinda.

but more like Missingno is "god", per se, and programmed everything himself

(not to offend religious ppl, but it's only my storyline in a videogame xD)

i guess it was ment to be ho-oh

 

because, just think

 

ho-oh was taken out of the game, missingno proberly is ho-oh also he is a bird type and he does have sky attack and who ever said ho-oh was gonna be a fire type?

 

that or m is ho-oh and missingno is some null data which got accsedently turned into a pokemon somehow

Simply.

 

It's no conspiracy, no unapproved legendary Pokemon, and definitely not some blurred photo-graph of Mewthree. =/.

 

It was a programming test, a small bug that wasn't removed/found before the releases of Pokemon Red/Blue.

 

Since, Note, it's not in Yellow.
