Enough is enough

I have requested it time and time again but now I must ask again. There is some major Spam going on in General. Some of these Topics need to go to Games. But that is NOT an excuse to Spam up the Games Section. Take the Leaving/Return thread as an example. It's not even about that anymore.

You know, the warning system exists for a reason.;)

The spam is taken care of and the respective members get warned or banned, if they take it too far. The pictures thread has been moved to the Game section and I think I already talked enough about the spam issue in General, so there is no need to overreact.

The Change Name Thread should be moved before members post in it too much imo.

 

Then the mods decide to move it in ''x'' months and we all lose 50 posts >_>..

 

Or maybe just lock it and members request the name change via PM and the mods just edit the 1st page of the thread ..

 

Such as many threads in general

Ok, what is the definition of Games?

Something like to have fun, and enjoy yourself, within a reasonable context, right?

 

Games, is games, the forum is called "Games" for a reason, for people to "play around" not these topics were moved once before. You guys need to make up your minds, becuase each time these threads are moved out of games, and then moved back, members lose post count, every single times, and they dont gain it back when its moved back to General.

 

So make a plan, decide which threads your going to move, and stick with it.

 

Now on the subject of spamming in Games. Its Gmaes for crying out loud, so unless it's threatening a member, or this site, leave it be for christ sake -.-"

No.

 

More people will spam, and that attracts more spammers.

 

It also takes up lots of space.

 

Heck spammers won't even spam in the spammy spam section.

it's not just games here which are spamming,it's also people who don't read the read before posting sticky that spams a lot.at least 10 people every week will ask a question that is already answered or in the FAQ.

Spam is and will always be a problem on the forum. Unless we want to go through and delete them all, I should think that we should have a bit higher of a warning for it. Maybe a couple percent higher?

 

That means that person A can't spam as much as they used to be able too, and if they do, they get a, what is it, and three day ban?

 

It might end up a tad more efficient. But some might get angry about this suggestion because they dont understand the point of view.

 

I should also like to help the spam problem by helping out or rewarding the ones that report spam. If they report spam, and it turns out to be spam and it gets locked and whatnot, why can't we lower the percent on their warning, if they have any? I'd say that some people with 99% warning would take up on "spam patrol" for that tiny bonus of maybe 1%.

 

But that up there ^ should be null if the person still has problems, like if they use the bonus points to spam again...

 

Anywho, that's just my suggestions on this topic. ;) hope ya enjoyed readin em. ^_^

You guys don't think of spam in the positive matter, everything not related to the topic isn't spam. Spam is when your posting for the sake of trolling/annoying. The "spam" you say is done by everyone and only a few people get punished for doing it. Think about it, if we start enforcing the rules strictly everyone who ever posted including the mods would be banned for about a month to say the least.

 

Kale, increasing the punishment can only make the condition worse. It wont make people stop plus some will get punished and some wont due to the huge number of "spam" that will cause a lot of arguments. The best solution is to modify the laws since currently everything from sarcasm to jokes are considered as spam when they're not. The only solution I see is to modify the laws already written by Frunk and TKill so they're updated to the current situation.

 

Also what's with the throwing everything into the games section? I can go on but bloodrun hit the nail, it's costing people there post count which is serious business to me and blood anyway. A "chat" section with no post count would be amazing since we can talk about various things currently considered "spam" and ensuring that people are increasing their post count through "cheating"
