If they keep adding more and more types of pokemon, all its going to do is make the game less fun to play.

The original basis of both the show and the game were 151 pokemon to try and catch. Now, when the show came out, it said that there were many undiscovered species predicted, but the 151 were primarily all that there were, and that was fine.

Then they come out with an additional 100 pokemon, bringing the count to 251 and those 100 pokemon came from a new region.

Then there came amonther group of pokemon bringing the count to like 341 or something like that, from another region, and finally now we have a count of 493 pokemon, with 2 new types, and all that good stuff.

Now, in the shows, and even in the games, these professors communicate and travel between the regions and talk about their discoveries. You are telling me, that for reasons unbeknown to us, 342 pokemon went completely undiscovered across 3 additional regions with like 6 professors all communicating back and forth, plus gym leaders and elite trainers in their versions of the pokemon league, not to mention all the civilians and non-trainers running around!?!?

New pokemon and new types are just going to ruin it. I'm already not wanting to play anymore just because of the new forms of Shaymin, Rotom, and Giratina. It doesn't make the game fun anymore.

They need 1 universal game to end the series of games and be done with it and move on.

You forget why they do all this: Money.

You're joking.

I think the only thing that can kill Wondertombs are status problem causing moves like Toxic. Thats what I think can beat them.

Perish Song works pretty well too. But that attack is easily stopped...

Also, wow, congradulations for keeping this thread going! I didn't think it would last this long.

3rd thing: Ok, explosion and self destruct are out, but some healing moves should be in.

I fail to see how more Pokemon, and more types (thereby meaning more possibilities for battle) makes the game stop being fun.

Also, it's not that they were undiscovered. They just aren't native to the region. In Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh, the respective Professors all hand out (and had BEEN handing out for some time) the Starter Pokemon of that region to beginning trainers. The fact that they have BEEN doing that just goes to show that the Pokemon had been known of for a while at that point. And it stands to reason that a Johto-Native Pokemon wouldn't be commonly seen in Kanto, so it wasn't non-discovered, it just wasn't present in the Kanto arc.

Also, none of the starter pokemon can actually be found in that region. So obviously there are still areas to discover (charmander as a catchable in the next region).

First off,

The starters are catchable in the wild (in the show - which is the premise to which I was making that comment).

Secondly,

The professors bounce back and forth from region to region constantly, as you have seen from movies, episodes, etc. They didn't just START doing this, they've been doing it for years (even before Ash Ketchum and Pikachu), which means the pokemon, whether native or not, have always been there and have been known about by researchers long before the adventure with Ash and Pikachu started.

Thirdly,

With more pokemon to have to try and catch, more types, more everything, it just makes the game too complicated and cluttered. I am not going to want to have to try and catch 800 pokemon, and only have to obtain 8 gym badges and beat the elite four to win the game. If you are going to keep adding pokemon, make the game bigger. Merge all Regions together and make all pokemon obtainable in the wild, hence the universal game, tying everything together for people.

Too much of something is not a good thing. Too much change to pokemon will kill both the show and the game. Too many pokemon will make the game no longer fun because they aren't going to want to try and catch 800 pokemon, they'll only want about 200 and be done with it.

Ying-Yang has very little, if nothing to do with it.

Light does not over-power dark, it simply co-exists with it.

The brighter the light, the darker the dark.

You can't eliminate Dark by light.

You cannot eliminate Light by Dark.

There wouldn't be any balance what-so-ever by adding a light-type.

Pokemon is already balanced enough, there is no need to complicate things more by adding another type.

Seriosly, Dark cannot exist without light. That is what the Yin-Yang thing is.

They co-exist, that is why they overpower each other, to prevent one from eliminating the other, thus destroying reality

Light type, as I see it would eliminate the possibility of a pokemon without weaknesses, making wonder gaurd useless

While their is nothing stopping them from adding a new type you also need to remember that some pokemon that right fully be Light won't be able to because they already have 2 types, such as Jirachi and Celebi. Also no moves should change type since I think no moves changed when we got Dark and Steel.

Also I don't think any of the pokemon we already have should get the new type since while it work on some pokemon their is no real need. Magnemite did kind of need it since it was made metal, and since it was the only pokemon that would have under gone the change. Now their are far to many pokemon that would be able to be changed meaning if a new type was added and old pokemon got it the game would change greatly.

Yes but the only "God" pokemon is Arceus, and he could only be Light with a Light plate.
