Judαs
I just wanted to ask, if we could make our own programs and stuff and make a thread about it, because I'm making a Pokemon Splice Maker and I thought if I could share it with the members ^_^ Would that be counted as advertising? Because hioco gave me a 20% warning for saying that I made a map for a club and posting a link -_-
moneypony
im pretty sure you can post your splice maker in the showcase,as long as it doesn't show another site(i think its advertising),maybe make it an attachment or make a download link.but this will put many splice shops out if business if it is free, simple, and quick for lazy people.i would like to see what you end up with. Judαs
I'm sure it won't put shops out of business because the splices are mediocre (okay, the'yre horrible, not mediocre) because they currently feature only hand, body and tail/wings splicing/ So the program, currently is only good for splicing Pokemon without legs/ghosts. And if it is allowed, would Showcase or General be better?
moneypony
i would most likely say showcase since your showing what you created to other people or you can make a TUT about it and include it in the tut.but perhaps maybe you can make some cash(points)out of this by making a version with the legs and other missing parts in it and sell it for a decent price.the free version will just give a preveiw of what the FULL(the one that needs points)will look like. I don't know whether that was sarcasm but it made me LOL.I would have programmed splicing the legs' date=' but it's just too much trouble. For now. ...don't listen to them...lol you can butit's best you send it to PM......so it's privateget what I'm saying? ...?Sorry, but I don't. moneypony
what im trying to say is,if your nice you would make a version with legs and give it to anyone who requests or deserves it.if your think you should be rewarded with some points for making this you can either make a version with legs for a price or make the non-leg version at a lower price.afterall,if you program the legs it will put splicing stores out of business, but it depends,if its a generator then they can't sell it(lol).but i suggest make a tut about it and post it in that section and include the download for the splice maker there.perhaps make the legs and other missing parts in your spare time? Catman25
yeah, advertising issues, probably make a tutorial like mp says and then pm the site to people who want it. I'd like to see the program, i'm bad at splicing.
Judαs
Wouldn't that turn into a commercial program? i suggest make a tut about it and post it in that section and include the download for the splice maker there. Good idea. People hardly move around Graphic Design - but shop owners unfortunately do look for tutorials to improve their shop (personal experience) so I need another idea. But then' date=' if shops started to misuse the concept it's not like I'll be 'out of business' LOL. But I need an 'independent platform' where no misuse can take place. Actually, even if someone steals a sprite made from the generator, PokeFUSE (just recently named) I won't care as anyway the prog is freeware. And currently, the only splicable Pokemon are (no. of parts spliceable in brackets): - Hitmonchan (3) - Haunter (4) - Electabuzz (4) - Gastly (2) - Koffing (2) - Graveler (3) - Poliwhirl (1) - Butterfree (2) - Gardevoir (1) - Goldeen (4) - Jigglypuff (2) Not much. perhaps make the legs and other missing parts in your spare time? Well, it takes a LOT of time doing that, even though I know how to do it properly, and it needs a lot of bug-testing to. I suppose I'll first post a preview of what it can do...? yeah' date=' advertising issues, probably make a tutorial like mp says and then pm the site to people who want it. I'd like to see the program, i'm bad at splicing.[/quote'] I've already made my own site, but hioco1 (gfx moderator) warned me for posting a link, so I don't know. I already put a review, and a demo will be available for download soon (I'm making the icons). Thank you for your comments. If a moderator would comment on this thread I'd be grateful - I don't know the rules regarding external programs. moneypony
well,if you need any help i can help you take parts of pokemon out and post them in a sheet for your generator.i have every single pokemon sprite in my computer.and to prevent abuse maybe if anyone you give it to downloads it in their computer that they must agree to give you credits for the generator and that they cannot sell any more splices unless they show that it was made on another program. EDIT:i thought up of a new feature, perhaps make it so when you choose the part that they will also have the pallet in it for easy recolors.you won't have time but i can help you take all the colors. EDIT2:wheres your website?
Judαs
Right now, don't do anything about extracting Pokemon parts because it's still in BETA. Thanks for offering, though. i thought up of a new feature' date='perhaps make it so when you choose the part that they will also have the pallet in it for easy recolors.you won't have time but i can help you take all the colors.[/quote'] For recoloring, my program doesn't have a pallet recolor function, so I would have to make multiple Pokemon sprites and multiple Pokemon objects. Then another big problem is SPACE. I don't know how I can make a combo-box or something, so I have to accommodate as many parts possible on one screen like this: wheres your website? Click the WWW button on the bottom-left of my posts ^_^
moneypony
well, perhaps they can save the splice and go to MSPaint to color it.with 493 pokemon and an average of about 3 or 2 parts each it would be hard to fit it,maybe make an open button and you get to select the pokemon parts you want to open?but that is still quite hard.i see that the problem us space, the open idea would probably fix that but if you can't make it,then the only way is make the window fit about nearly the whole screen,i hope the betas comes out soon btw:when i clicked on the WWW my Mozilla Firefox it says server not found. Judαs
0ops sorry, the 'www.' is not there in the link. The link should work now. well' date='perhaps they can save the splice and go to MSPaint to color it.[/quote'] Good idea. So no trouble for me about recoloring. About the open button not sure, i'll try and see what I can do. P.S. I'm using Game Maker 6, in case you wanted to know.
