Reaper of Shadows
This banter is getting us no where. I'm saying that if mandatory AC is going to be instituted, then it the bar can't be set as high as it is now, becuase it'll drive newbs away when there suppose to be taught. Sure there are some exceptions, but for the most part, newbs have no idea what they're doing.
Mr.WHAM
I agree and I bet if you got all the newb who had rp's they'd barely know how to manage it.
fenrir
I agree and I bet if you got all the newb who had rp's they'd barely know how to manage it. And what makes you think this? The average age on this forum is about 12-18 That means said person is at least in middle school, or in late elementary school, or in high school. This means that said person has done essays at one point. Meaning that typing a paragraph is technically simple for them. If anything, the only thing that's making these newbs post one-liners with atrocious grammar is laziness. Prove me wrong.
Reaper of Shadows
Laziness does play a factor (a large one I agree) but newbs arent newbs just because their lazy. And some people could be excellent at typing paragraphs, grammar, etc, but have no idea how a RP is really suppose to flow, and arent able to get creative enough, and therefore they post one-liners. That didn't make sense. If they don't understand how an RP flows, that doesn't mean they can't post a paragraph.
~Espada_Gin~
that makes a good point but no one in that age group which i am in actually uses what we learn in school on the internet.

bury the year
To whoever suggested the school tag' date=' we tried something like that in the past with the [TEACHING'] tag, but enthusiasm waned quickly. OBJECTION! It was more the fact that mods barely posted. Or am I wrong, Herr Rinne? -gasp from jury- I posted more RP posts than you on that thread, so make like a turkey and stuff it. :3 I'm all in favor of re instituting the school, but only if you guys will continue it. I mainly gave up on it when I saw that only about 2 people who signed up were seriously dedicated, and it's difficult to RP at that scale when there are so little actually involved people. See where I'm coming from?

Reaper of Shadows
Didn't understand that last one, but I agree with Gin. It comes down to the fact that some people simply just don't care whether they used a comma correctly, or capitalized a sentence, or had correct spelling. And what would you rather have. A really good one-liner, or an extremely crappy paragraph.

Hell, one of my RP friends here uses poor-ish grammar. Do I care? No. She types paragraph sized posts that are great. Grammar isn't important as long as you understand it. Big Bad Pennar
ROFL, Gin's been Banned OT: I have also taken a bit of a Survey from whom i called the Lower RPing Community(Which are People that were Banned when the Advanced Clause was first enforced, In my intro thread, One person posted that "The clause isn't that bad itself, its mostly the way that they enforce it that is wrong. They should enforce it slowly. Like not basic posts, but not required to be advanced."

SPA7X
Time for a suggestion not about AC. (let me know if this has been suggested before but) How about a thread where people can post what they're looking for in a rp, and Rp owners or people who share their interests can see this and discuss and plan something over Pm? Sort of a Rp Wanted/Request list.

Something like that would be pretty awesome, actually, if it could be used as a kind of public brainstorming for RPs. For example, you could get people looking for certain RPs, RP owners that are looking for ways to bulk up their plot, maybe someone interested in making an RP whose' wondering what the current demand for an RP of that sort is around here... that kind of thing.
