Temple of the Kings: Discussion

Recommended Posts

I remember that topic, a long, long time ago, where I asked why this card was banned.

When I look at this card alone, I don't see why this card should be banned; It's just a decent card.

But when I look at other cards it can combo with, I see that one of them should be banned.

Banning this card is like banning Metamorphosis; It makes broken cards that are hard to use playable, allowing OTKs to occor.

Banning the cards it can combo with is like banning Cyber Twin Dragon; It's already broken, but won't see competitive play, unless Metamorphosis is allowed.

The second option would be reasonable. Off course, there might be other non-broken cards it could OTK with, and of those were the only OTKs for it, then none would need a ban.

Let's say that Exodia & Palls didn't exist, but this card could do something like Bat OTK. In that case, would something poor like 'Bat' need a ban? No.

Would this card need a ban? No. The OTK won't be used competitively, and it wouldn't harm the meta.

Anyway, even with Exodia & Palls, it's not this who needs a ban, but Exodia & Palls.

A card that I hadn't looked at closely enough: Chain Destruction. At the maximum, you need 16 chains of this card + another card to FTK. I'm thinking that this cosigns Temple to being permently banned. Unless someone either proves me wrong, or offers a reason to ban Chain Destruction instead.

Yeah, this card is good at FTK'ing. >_>

Anyhow, as for Chain Detonation, I don't see how performing 16 separate chains, preferably with four links each, is a significant threat to the game.

Yeah, I meant Chain Detonation. And I misread the effect the first time I checked. It's not a problem.
